Low height comfortable accommodation, lots of space inside and out. Direct access to the sea. Excellent pool area, attentive helpful staff. Good food. Poor entertainment.

Could not fault this hotel for value for money, only let down was the room. We found the food good, with fresh specials everyday. I was ill for half a day (out of 10) but neither my partner nor son were. Yes there's russians but they add to the entertainment with their horrific outfits and style. Couple of negatives; if traveling with children is that the entertainment is only for Italians & Russians so bear that in mind. Everyone wants tipping - all the time. Restaurant manager was very good, kept us the same table every night with drinks ready, unfortunately our room cleaner said he was going on holiday the next day so we left a tip, only to see him the next and every other day thereafter and our tip obviously wasnt good enough as he stopped making all the towel shapes! you have to laugh! All in all after a lot of deliberating and a lot of horror stories on this and others, we couldnt really fault it. Great hotel, always loads of sunbeds both pool & beach, food available all day, chips, pizza and pasta by the pool, pancakes at 5 then dinner so always something available. Also dont pay more than EGP 150 from the airport to this hotel if doing it independantly!!

When myself and two friends arrived at the hotel we were initially given a room which was on the ground floor and the back door opened from the outside and looked as though it had been accessed from the outside. When we informed reception we were initially fobbed off with a makeshift solution of a couple of screws hammered into the frame, when we demonstrated how easy it would be to get past that we were kind of told off for breaking it again. Eventually we convinced them to give us another room. which was lovely!
Food was great and lots of choice, all snacks and meals were good, plenty of choice! Drinks are typical local variety "Johnny Walder" type labels!
Male staff were quite keen and attentive but not excessively so, blondes in Egypt.... !
Rooms were clean and up to date, although one night a guy came to fix the built in hairdryer at midnight?!?! It didnt bother us too much as we were awake, but it did seem a little odd...
There was rain there for the first time in 6 years and the room and hotel were flooded on the floors I guess the hotel wasn't really designed with rain in mind and it was just a flukey thing.
All in all it was a good hotel, I sometimes think the reviews are inaccurate and focus way too much on isolated instances, even once resolved. This hotel was everything I wanted because the food was hot, nice and varying. The beach and pool were very easily accessed. The rooms were clean comfortable and not dated. The staff were helpful, available and not overbearing. I would go back and rcommend to friends without any concern.

This is our third trip to Egypt and third time staying within the Shores group hotels. February 2009 and September 2010 we stayed at Shores Golden and this month we stayed at Shores Aloha.
We absolutely love these hotels, they are perfect for us! We first travelled as a couple then with a baby and finally with a toddler and a baby. Each holiday has been fantastic with wonderful weather every day.

The hotel is lovely and everywhere is kept spotlessly clean. The pool and beach areas are also brilliant with various beach games available to play at any time and a childrens play area. Food and drinks are available all day at either the pool or beach bars and our toddler never went hungry. We had an issue with our fridge on one day and within five minutes two people from housekeeping came to fix it.

All the staff are wonderful especially in the restaurant. Captain Khalid is a firm favourite of ours and has served us every day of each holiday we have had but all the other waiters and chefs cannot be faulted either. The staff treated us so well and we had a table reserved in the restaurant every meal time with drinks waiting for us before we even sat down. The food was delicious and there was a wide choice including fresh fruit and salad at every meal.

The entertainment team were very good too, they all spoke English and welcomed you into any activities but were not annoying or forceful.

There were only a handful of other English people at the hotel but that suits us down to the ground (we go on holiday to be a family) and we found many of the other european guests very friendly.

We were very sad to leave and are already planning our next trip back to Shores Aloha and as far as we're concerned the trip cannot come soon enough!

At the moment the exchange rate is very good and you get over 9LE (egyptian pounds) to £1 sterling. We tipped various members of staff at the end of the holiday including the restaurant staff, towel guy and room cleaner, in all giving around £50, this was our choice and turns out was much higher than the usual tips but we felt the staff deserved every penny of it. We have been welcomed back like old friends since our first trip and would not hesitate to return in a heartbeat.

We stayed for a week in November. Second visit to Sharm but first time to this hotel. Unsure about choice of hotel on first day, mainly due to other guests (not British) who did not understand the concept of queuing and were quite rude to the hard working staff. However we learnt to ignore this and had a great holiday thanks to the great staff who could not do enough for us. Yes we did tip; but at a dollar a time this did not break the bank!

The rooms are basic; but spotlessly clean, with wonderful towel art everyday. We did, however, miss having tea and coffee making facilities in the room.

The dining room does tend to cater for the Italian and Russian clientele. However the scrambled eggs at breakfast are the best we have ever tasted and lunch was usually Ok. The evening meals tended to be where we struggled and we are not fussy usually. Fortunately the commercial centre El Mercato is only a 15 minute walk away or 3 minutes in a taxi and you can get a nice meal here for approx £25 per couple.

If you want a relaxing week with guaranteed sunshine and value for money then you won't be disappointed.

Having read the reviews we were dubious about booking this but booked it anyway. I went with 2 of my friends who are in a couple for 1 week.

The hotel was fine. The rooms are basic but clean and tidy and there were no issues. The plug adapters were European so the twin rounded plugs are fine to use. Our room cleaner was great, we tipped him 10 LE (Egyptian Pounds) and he made fancy things out of the towels. Very jazzy! Everywhere including the grounds were well maintained. They even had a chap spray the grounds in the evening with a mozzy repellant which proved successful as I only had one bite in the whole week that I was there.

There are alot of Russians and Italians there but we didn't encounter any problems and everyone we did meet was friendly. The animation team are a mixture of Russians, Egyptians and Italians but they all spoke English well so there were no issues in understanding them. The evening shows were what you would expect in a foreign country, not exactly our cup of tea but comical none the less. The Tuesday night was Egyptian locals who came and danced, this was the best night by far.

The complex was superbly located, far enough away from the likes of Naama Bay but close enough to get a cheap cab there or the free shuttle that the hotel put on.

The food was stunning, we had fresh salad and anything on offer really everyday. We drank ice and their own made drinks and none of us had a poorly tummy. Refreshingly they didn't serve 'English' food in the main buffet that often so you got a real taste of so many lovely fishes, meats and different types of potato, pasta and rice. The outside daily BBQ was a big hit with us!!

The staff here deserve the biggest commendation. A fantastic chap called Rady on the pool bar is a brilliant laugh and we fell a bit in love with Sam the main dessert chef. Each one of these people take absolute pride in their jobs which was evident.

Beware of being not forceful enough with the sellers on the beach and round the pool else they will hassle you everyday. Just say 'no thanks' and they won't bother you again.

We did a parasailing trip with Mario who has a small hut on the private beach and that was great at around £20 each. Well worth the investment.

The snorkelling on the beach was out of this world and we were lucky to see a variety of marine life.

I'd go back tomorrow, it made me fall in love with Egypt!

Oh and take English money or US Dollars, the Egyptian pound out there was not that common!!

Room Tip: Pool or beach facing

Our 2nd stay at this fab hotel. The whole hotel is spotless and has everything we could possibly want. It's great for vegetarians and we were happy as English to be surrounded by a variety of nationalities. The animation team in the yellow t-shirts are multi national, and particular thanks to Ash who does great yoga & aqua-aerobics in 3 different languages!! Everyone we came across was lovely, helpful and Made sure we had the best holiday. Also great thanks to Magdy in the restaurant, for not only great service but friendly chats .
