went for 3 weeks . first 2 were excellent but 3rd was not good due to a change of staff . beer was warm most of the time but madcat the barman put it on ice when challenged. when quoted a price for trips these seemed to change with the exchange rates so if you are.given a price get it written down . trip to luxor was well worth the money . general manager was very good and takes everything onboard good or bad . man with the shop beside the pool was helpful with oils, tobacco and spices . all in all was a very enjoyable holiday but would not go back again in jan as we were restricted due to the anniversay of the revolution and the deaths at the football match. any other time it is probably just what the doctor ordered .

Room Tip: top floor with a balcony facing the pool .

This is NOT a 4*, maybe it only just deserves a 1/2*. We came back home today in the early hours and have never eaten such a small amount of food. There is limited choice and what there is the locals made sure they got more than their fair share. This place needs a thorough overhaul, including a good scrub-out (including stairs and stair wells). All-inclusive my foot. They do nothing for you except to lug your cases up or down. Apart from that you have to get your own water and generally look after yourself. In fact my partner was so ill a couple of days ago, he had to go to hospital with stomach pains. He was treated obviously by hooking up to a drip. Avoid this place like the plague, unless of course you don't mind scraping for food. What I could'nt understand was how some people just were not fussy. I hated Egypt anyway and will never go back. Its dirty and looks like a bomb site!

We spent 26th January to 5th February at the Naama Star. We had a great time there, the hotel is built in a very nice style, with open internal landings with palm trees growing up through them. The staff were excellent and very friendly, nothing was too much trouble. The food in the restaurant was good with plenty of choice, lots of different breads, and lots of desserts to choose from too. The pancakes and omelettes made to order by a chef on the poolside (Mohammed) at breakfast were very popular, as were the waffles with syrup and ice cream for afternoon tea. Even the cleaners were above normal with the towel art they did...a different surprise to return to every day.

They have a very good system for towels which saves you taking your own. Towels in the room are there anyway, but they also give you a card each which you exchange for a beach towel with the pool guy. This can be used around the pool, or taken to the beach. You then exchange it for a clean towel or get your card back until you need another beach towel. A good bit of weight saved in you luggage

Good location, a short walk to the end of the street and you're into the action of Naama Bay. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. The staff are a credit to them.

TIP: Tip the staff small amounts early on in your holiday, and regularly throughout, this ensures you outstanding service. Nothing too much trouble.

Every Hotel in Sharm requires an infrastructure of 40% occupancy to feasibly operate. Therefore if you book well in advance, this then allows the Hotel to work out their budget and staff for their forthcoming year. On achieving this pre-requisite the Hotel's of Sharm will give you sublime deals to attract your custom. I purchased a week all inclusive at this establishment, for my good lady & I for the cost of £450. This I purchased last September, for February.

The great points of this Hotel were: -

1. The daily fresh home made bread was outstanding
2. The rooms were spotless - the sheets & towels were changed daily (the towels were delivered in the afternoon & you could feel the heat straight from the tumble dryer)
3. Each room contained a pro bono safe - as you well know countries like Spain charge you a fortune for the hire of a safe
4. Great Air Conditioning system & plenty of hot water
5. Mini Fridge where you could place your own libations & not have to purchase the Hotel's expensive types
6. A Hair Dryer & plenty of cupboard space
7. The Eggs/Omelets individually cooked to order were outstanding
8. The chicken & fish cooked on the hotplate individually were outstanding
9. The food on the servery was plentiful & selective; however why do we as a human race allow children to address the servery - all the children do is to play with the food & drop it. We do not allow our children to prepare & serve the food in the household; so why do we allow them to adress the servery?
10. The beer was suitable; however my good lady stated that the local spirits & wine was lamentable
11. The complete staff within the hotel was absolutely sublime
12. All sunbeds came with a mattress & a daily complimentary beach towel

The few bad points were: -

1. The free beach towels were available from 0900hrs onwards to stop the English from putting their towels down on the sunbeds. However the English overcame this by putting their own towels down at 0700hrs in the morning. However the comical side of the English rationale for reserving their sunbeds, is not to place them down before the "German's"- they are not in the equation now - but to place them down before the "Russian's"
2. I can now assimilate why previous reviews complained about stomach problems - it is not the quality that gives you the problems - it is the quantity! I have never witnessed so many big fat slobs stuff so much food down their gullets three times a day. It was definitely, "Who let the Hog's out?"
3. When it comes to money the Egyptians want your money as fast as possible. Always look for price tags on items and always be prepared that their "very good prices" are extortionist. THIS MEANS EVERYTHING YOU PURCHASE. It is actually cheaper in Spain

Star Tips: -

1. We forget that this is "Egypt" and not "Europe"; however Sharm charge European prices. Therefore negotiate and bargain on everything
2. Ask for a ground floor pool view room 1129 - 1138
3. My good lady had a sublime pedicure, manicure & complete facial - they wanted LE 1,050 (after their big discount), however I received it for LE 800
4. My good lady & I had a sublime body massage - again they wanted LE 300 for 30 minutes, however I received both for LE 250 for 40 minutes (you receive a 15 minute complimentary facial message from the Hotel Reception)
5. The check out from your room and your AI finishes at noon on the day of your departure. However if you arrived at the Hotel after 1800hrs, go to reception & ask for an extension to 1400hrs and a lunch voucher; the reception will duly approve

All in all, a sublime Hotel at a sublime price. Will we go to this establishment again ......absolutely!

Room Tip: Always brush your tongue, to maintain fresh breath!

Just returned from an 11 night stay at this hotel. Rooms looking a little tired but good facilities including a fridge, (free) air con and safe. Also, a tv which has a movie channel in english!! Large pool and jacuzzi. Towels for pool usage which you get by handing in a card to the "towel man". This guy is really friendly and after a couple of days he put our towels out on the sunbeds every morning which meant having not to dash down early. We rewarded him with a tip on our last day. Excursion man near the pool is good for trips and cheaper than the hotel rep. The hotel is in a good location and the staff are hard working and friendly. The only let down for us was the food although many people were eating in the restaurant. We chose to eat out of an evening and found TGI Fridays to be our favourite. Cheaper than the UK too!! One other negative...the constant pestering in resort (Naama Bay). I know it is to be expected but when you are being asked if you want drugs everytime you venture out it becomes quite annoying. There were also some shopkeepers who were downright rude to us when we refused to go into their shops. It takes the edge of the holiday. Probably stick to the Canaries in the future for some winter sun.

I have just returned from a 10 day stay at this hotel. The staff at this hotel are the most warm and welcoming people ever, they do everything they can to accomodate you. On arrival we were met by a heavily pregnant stray cat sitting on the mat, it was nice to see she wasn't being chased away and 2 days later when she had her kittens a space was made for her in the hairdressers. I took in a bag of biscuits for her from Carrefour, the local supermarket and they were very grateful. Glad to say, by the time i left mum and babies were doing great. Also, the security guard has a kitten he brings to work with him, i took him cat food too. Anyway, back to the hotel. The rooms were cleaned to a fair standard each day, though the showers weren't great, they worked. You don't need to take any towels with you, these are provided and changed regularly and you will be provided with seperate towel for the beach, bonus! also there is a hairdryer in each bathroom. The pool area is lovely, there is a bar there and plenty of sun loungers. If you want sun all day then sit in the corner by the bar!!There is a guy who puts the towels out every day, when you want to go to the beach you just take the towel with you. The beach, VIVA, is about an 8 - 10 minute walk away, there are lots of reps there so if you want to go on a banana boat, diving, parasailing etc, this is the place to go. The food at the hotel is good, always presented well and hot. There is a bbq outside each night and the restaurant staff are fantastic. In the indoors bar is a guy called Medhat, he is very friendly and helpful and the hotel gift shop will source you any gifts you want to take home at a fair price. This saves the hassle of going into the market too often, it's an experince you might not want to repeat. The market is not somewhere i would take children, particularly at night, your not left alone for a minute The market traders are very nice people but very, very pushy. They think we are rich, and will start their prices of very high, be reasonable, don't try to haggle them down to nothing, pay a fair price, these people work morning, noon and night. Lastly, the hotel is great for groups and couples, but there really is not alot for kids to do. If you take the kids you will be wasting your money going all inclusive as you will spend most of your time out and about trying to find stuff for the kids to do.There is entertainment of some description most evenings and a trip to Soho square. Soho square is about a 20 minute drive away, theres shops, ice skating, bars etc, it's good here as you don't get the hassle you will get in the markets. Lastly, don't worry about exchanging money, they all take the english pound, and it's easier to tip using pound coins. If you do exchange some cash remember, 10p in english money is £1 egyptian, so £10 egyptian is £1 english.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the pool area as it can be noisy at night, also not all rooms have balconys
