Being 4 women aged between 14 and 40, we were intitally conscientous about going to Egypt where it is widely known that there will be men everywhere!
This hotel is absolutley amazing... having endured a 5 and a half hour flight, thankfully the hotel is less than a 20 minute journey from the Airport. Our bags were taken to our rooms which were literally a 2 minute walk to the beach. The rooms are incredibly spacious - we had 2 adjoining rooms. Each room had its own safe, a mini-fridge and a television showing a wide range of movies throughout the day. The beds were extremely comfortable - the sleep i had in that one week in Egypt is better than the rest of the year back in England and my bed!!
The hotel looks fantastic and is absolutely huge... there are 4 swimming pools but we stayed in the one thats a few steps from the beach. The beach is a little small, but its privately owned by the hotel so you're safe from the public. Although i must say that the workers of the hotel do tend to bug you a little when you're lying there trying to tan - and ask you for massages, eyebrown threading and stuff... all of which i must admit we were not interested in, and would have preferred if they left us to it. But they are all friendly, and don't mean anything negative or harmful.
You are unable to walk into the sea, but must walk along a "jetty" where you can then jump into the sea and swim with the fishes. Literally fishes! They're like the tropical kind of fish you see in pet shops and want to buy - but here you're swimming with them! My greatest tip is to buy a snorkel set and a lilo if you're a little uncomfotbale with swimming - as the sea off the jetty is insanely deep.
The hotel has a small range of shops where the guys there are very kind and helpful.

Because we were 4 women, we didn't want to risk using the taxi servixce, so depended on the hotel shuttle service into Naama Bay instead. It costs around £2 per person for a round trip and vary in times. We tended to go for the 8pm shuttle into Naama Bay and head back to the hotel on the 11pm or the 1230am shuttle back to the hotel. Naama Bay is literally a 10 minute drive from the hotel - but do not walk! The hotel staff probably wouldn't allow you anyways due to safety issues. Naama Bay is amazing - you got to be careful as the guys there tend to hassle you a little to go into their stores and shops. My advice is to stay firm and if you don't want to go in, then walk along. Some do make silly remarks behind your back (such as "Spice Girl" and "I love the way you walk") and although we gave a few of them a piece of our minds, we found this only triggers them off - so its best to ignore and walk ahead. Haggling is a big YES in Naama Bay - as soon as you walk away, then come up with an insanely low price!

If you're a shisha fan, the Plaza Beach Hotel and Naama Bay is your ideal spot. The hotel have their own shisha hut - though i must be honest in saying their shisha isn't very nice and wasn't smokable at times... but the shisha in Naama Bay (the places outside TGI Fridays and Hard Rock Cafe) were the ones to be. and their shisha was fab!

You have to hit the Hard Rock Cafe - it was an amazing experience - and was refreshingly English!! I love egytian culture and their food - but it was nice to be in a place where you felt you were back home for a little while!

Back to the hotel - the food was okay, it wasn't great and it wasn't poor. this was probabbly the only let-down of the hotel. We assumed that for a 5* hotel, the food on offer would be delicious - unfortunately this was not the case. My advice would be to keep an open mind, and if you can get out to Naama Bay (as we did almost each night) then you'll be fine!

As for excursions, we opted for the "Star Gazing" experience where you ride camels through the Sinai Desert (which is like half hour away), eat a traditional Bedouin dinner and then look at stars where horoscopes and the planets are discussed. We also say Saturn through the telescope! All of this was for £75 per person. Its a little expensive, but the memories are worth it.

Lastly, the cleaners made sculptures out of the towels for us - which was a nice touch!

All in all.. this hotel was fantastic. We all suffered withdrawal symptoms once landing back in London. Will definately be returning.

Happy holidays!!

Where to start...
Firstly, booked to stay at the Garden reef....but this was closed.
Rooms were a good size, if a little run down.
Noise was an issue at times as we had a connecting door...but not too bad.
The hotel position and outlook was superb, but too far from town to walk.
Beach and pool areas were good, loads of sunbeds. Tip the pool man and your beds will be waiting for you each day.
Beach and bar staff were all first class, and after a small tip, you get really well looked after. Never had a problem with warm drinks, ours were always straight from the fridge.
Only 1 restaurant open due to lack of guests, food always well presented , even if not totally to the british taste.

Room Tip: Get your tips in early...

Arrived at the hotel and was greated by a member of staff who showed us where to check in. Whilst filling in the form we were given a lovely refreshing drink which is just what we needed after a 5 hour flight. Showed to our rooms by the member of staff and 5 minutes later the bags arrived, really glad as were a lot of stairs where our room was. Room was upgraded to a sea view and was very clean and tidy. Hotel has 4 different pools which vary in temperature and depth, if you make friends with the pool man he will reserve your sunbeds for you every morning with fresh towels and a parasol if you ask. When speaking to the staff and other guests we found out the hotel was only 25% occupied by guests and therefore only 25% of the staff were working. This was quite noticable as the pool bars were both shut, however i believe as it gets busier they will begin to open them up. Hotel was very clean, staff very friendly and always happy to have a chat. If you're interested in any trips to do snorkelling or scuba diving there is a rep called 'Barry' who speaks excellent English and will always try to help. Food was fine, not 1 person from our group was ill, different meat everyday and an excellent mixture to choose from. I would advise having lunch at the bbq restaurant which is by the pool nearest the beach as this had pizzas, sandwiches, rice and a good range! I would go again and so would all members in the group i travelled in....thanks!

Room Tip: If you like your spirits take your own, as theres aren't very tasty!

We read alot about this hotel before travelling with varying reviews. I can only say that we had an excellent stay at this hotel. The staff were all absolutely fantastic, in particular Ash and Mo in the restaurant and Ash in the reception bar. I think that it is the first hotel that I have been to where hotel manager was visible every day and always talking to the holiday makers. The food was acceptable with plenty of choice and always something that we liked. The entertainment was pretty good on the whole. We never had any trouble getting sunbeds. Very good stay!!!!!
