“Hot, but wonderful”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 7, 2014

Having arrived at the airport, we were met by Eslam Nashaat who was exemplary in fast tracking us to our awaiting taxis. He was very polite and efficient. On arriving at the hotel we were treated with courtesy and a wonderful welcome. The hotel itself was large but by no means crowded.

On our first day we were introduced to Mohamed, our pool ' Captain' What a wonder he is. Nothing was too much trouble for him, so attentive and he catered for all our needs as was the Life Guard Karem. They were treasures!!

The restaurants were many and varied, so much to choose from. The hotel breakfast was ok but a bit limited in the Royal section. The chef who cooked the different versions of eggs was a wonder. However, when the new part of this hotel is opened very soon I'm sure it will be a different story. So much more choice hopefully. All the staff were very attentive. Anna, who came around every day day to ask our requests for reservations for dinner in the various restaurants was also brilliant , in fact you couldn't really pinpoint anyone as they were all fantastic, especially in the Royal Savoy lounge. Josef was very attentive too.
We hope to return one day but at a cooler time.

In all we had a smashing holiday. Thank you to all at The Royal Savoy, you were superb!!

We have just arrived from a weeks holiday from the royal savoury in sharm el shiek, we had a fabulous time, we booked half board but when we arrived decided to up grade to allincusive best thing we did as it is quite expensive for drinks and food it was well worth it. Drinks were the proper makes food was excellent, you could choose different restaurants.
The staff around the pool were very helpful thanks to Mohammed and emad, we could not fault a thing in the restaurants staff was efficient-and could not enough for you. Rooms were lovely we had plenty of shower gel, shampoo, soaps, I wish to thank hany and staff on reception for a good holiday. Anyone thinking of going to this hotel do it you will not be disappointed.

We visited The Savoy after recommendations from our friends.
We found the hotel beautiful. We loved the wide choice of restaurants; our favourites were the Italian, Steak and Teppanyaki. We liked having Soho Square on our doorstep where we could browse without any hassle. We could not fault this hotel and I'm sure we will be back in the future.

WOW! Everything that's been said is true! from the moments we arrived to the moment we left we were treated like Royalty, the staff at this Hotel know how to look after you. From being collected at the airport by Nash to our introduction to the Hotel from Anna it all started well. A fantastic selection of restaurants the best one would be hard to pick as all were of a very good standard. Faraag is such a delight to start the day with his wonderful smile and delightful eggs accompanied by Thomas and Bishoy. Both Mohammed's who took care of our every needs around the swimming pool and require a special thank you, we feel like we have made two friends for life with you. Ehab, great knowledge of football and makes great cocktails with a lovely smile. So a big thank you to everyone at the Hotel many of whom we can't remember their names for making our stay delightful, we've been back a week and still have smiles on our faces :-)). We look forward to returning and seeing our friends.

What can I say that has not already been said several times over about the outstanding quality, staff and service at The Royal Savoy Sharm. It's all true!! ... From the moment we arrived we were made to feel most welcome by the staff. We spent a very lazy week in late March and enjoyed every second of our stay. The hotel was at about 50% capacity, partly due to the time of year and partly due to security fears about travelling to the area. Whilst this situation is ideal for guests in that there is plenty of room pool-side and in the restaurants, It's tough on the hotel and its staff who need healthy tourist numbers to maintain a high level of service with a smile and to support staff and their families. There is much discussion in the media about the potential security short-comings in Egypt and while some areas may be riskier than others, my own personal experience is that The Royal Savoy at Sharm is not one of those locations. We stayed in one of the newly built rooms which was furnished to a very high standard with great views of the pool area and one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in ... and I've slept in a fair few on my travels ... It would be unfair to single out staff as they are all brilliant, but a tip 'o' the hat to Farag who cooked me perfect Eggs Benedict every morning and to Gamal who effortlessly glided us through airport security in under 10 minutes on the way home. We opted for the ultra-all inclusive deal and so did not have to think about anything except relaxing and booking a restaurant for lunch and dinner. Would we return to The Royal Savoy? ... Absolutely!!

Room Tip: Take a fistful of $1 bills to tip staff poolside and in the restaurants. Opt for one of the newly...

Our family has visited the Savoy five times before and each time we expected the standard, service and quality to have deteriorated... As a seasoned traveller with a large family it is generally difficult to find everything you need from interconnecting rooms, great food, quality service, choice of restaurants, getting in the restaurants without queuing and having to ring at 3am in the morning to book them..... this is not the case at the Savoy which ever side you decide to stay.
We stayed the Royal Savoy side this time and wow, I have to say it was exceptional for Egypt.

Having done the rounds in Egypt for several years, as my wife loves the weather - I tend to burn just looking at a holiday brochure - and having all suffered from chronic stomach upsets and disappointing food, we finally came across the Savoy. If you have a family it is the perfect all inclusive holiday, you have the sun, the shallow large main pool which is child friendly and a great pool bar. Our room was outstanding and the air-conditioning was great.

What was pleasantly surprising was the number of staff that we recognised from over 4 years ago which is the sign of a great hotel... The pool bar staff were great on both sides of the Savoy especially the main pool bar Mohamed. The best restaurant for lunch by far is the seafood restaurant on the beach - exceptional food and staff, thank you Nashaat for looking after us.

My experience of Egypt in general is the food is not great, and the standard is far from 5 Star; however this is not the case at the Savoy. I am very picky and love my food, the choice and quality is exceptional all over the Hotel and in Soho Square. If you are a family I would choose the Savoy S Class all inclusive over the Royal Savoy as it includes all drinks and restaurants so you have a great choice including all internal and external restaurants in Soho Square and the pools are more child friendly Savoy side.

People have asked me if Egypt is safe, there is no where safer than the Savoy Soho Square and not at any point did we feel uneasy walking inside or around the square, the security is excellent.

I would like to thank Joseph and Saoud personally for looking after us far beyond the call of duty and we are looking forward to coming back just at Christmas.

Room Tip: If you have kids, a pool side room on the ground floor is so convenient. If you like it quiet, take...

Having visited the Royal before we knew what to expect. However we were even more impressed than last time. The welcome at the airport and fast track to the hotel makes for a perfect start. From the moment we arrived everyone on the staff did all they could to ensure our stay was a memorable one. It's always difficult to select individuals when everyone works so hard but Faraq ensured the day started perfectly with his selection of breakfast options. Samuel then took over at the beach to ensure all our needs were met without having to leave our sun bed. On returning to the oasis that is the terrace and lounge M Said, Mohamad and Gerges all made lunch and cocktails a time to remember. When all the new facilities are finally open we have no doubts the experience will be even better. We shall certainly return soon.
As for all the talk of personal safety in Egypt we have never felt in any danger or been concerned for our welfare at any time. We were in Sharm last October and at the Royal this Easter and nothing has happened to change our view that this is a 100% safe area to visit. Hence our wish to return. Thank you very much everyone at the Royal for a most memorable holiday.
