“AMAZING HOLIDAY IGNORE BAD REPORTS!!”
Reviewed February 7, 2011

Okay should of written a review by now just never got round to it. What can i say what an amazing holiday! The hotel was absolutely awsome. From the first to the last moment nothing wrong. On arrival check in was not rushed what so ever and yes okay was a bit odd leaving your suitcase outside reception with the porter but it was fine. Have some change to tip the staff member the guy easily pushed 16 suitcases up a hill in 30 degree heat and did it without breaking a sweat incredible.

The thomson rep was really good the welcome meeting yes we know their boring but so helpful espesh in egypt unless you have been before. The pool at the hotel is great, only bad point is that the pool needs a paint. The rooms are big and roomy, view from the balcony was great with the pool view just make sure u dont lock yourself out like we did twice there is no handle on the outside. The hotel food i thought was really really good, there is always plenty of choice, the amount of people we found sitting there saying there was nothing for them to eat what a joke!!! the bbq outside is fantastic for dinners chicken wings legs tighs we found it after second night and what a find hardly anybody used it.! the two a la carte restaurants were also very very good they say u can only use them once a week but that didnt stop us it gives you an excuse to dress up a bit and is much more civilised the waiters were so polite and fun we had such a laugh with all the staff.

bar staff were amazing always so polite and helpful, there was usually a que at nighttime so get 2 or 3 drinks at a time. Yeh okay for about 4 days out of 14 i had a dodgy tummy but just take te tablets with ya and its sorted :) the hotel is under a flightpath but didnt bother me or my ex partner at the time we quite enjoted seeing all the different planes going over, u can't hear them in ur room. The hotel is near lots of wee nick nacky shops and yes u doo get a bit hasseled but as long as your polite to them they generally leave ya alone. We decided one day to treat ourselves to a mcdonalds and holly bajeebus the portion size is huuuuuuge.

Just accross the street from the mcdonalds is a wee hut falcon excursions book everything you want to do in egypt through them, pyramids, valley of the kings, quad biking, ultimate desert experience red sea cruise and trip to the water park was everything we did when we were there broke up the holiday nicely, pay in english pounds though infact in egypt take as much english money as you can the egyptians dont like their own currency becuase they save it all up and wait until the exchange rate goes through the roof. All in all what a fantastic holiday and i would love to go back at some point :D

Top Tips

Take more english money than egyptian.
Take plenty of clothes espesh if going into the desert
Take imodium or similar tablets take few packs
Take mini set of speakers for ur ipod or mp3 player for evenings in the room
Don't book anything through the travel rep it is over priced and heard pretty bad reviews from the cairo and luxor trips.
Always say please and thank you i know basic manners but the staff and people will domore for you if you polite the amount of people we saw being rude to them was disgusting.

if you are planning on going into the desert take desert scarfs(is pic) with you or shop around they try charge you a fortune for them at the place, if going into the sea the wee shop next to the hotel sells seasocks wegot them for about £7 for 2 pairs

I booked this holiday for me and my boyfriend last year got home, and looked on here and was extremely nervious that I had done the wrong thing. Believe me I didnt and we book last saturday to go again this june/july!

Flight
The flight is ok, I don't enjoy flying but we were ok. When we arrived and got off the plane we were roasting! really hot, make sure you have a vest on under your clothes because its a beautiful heat at night time.

Coach
We got to out coach and the coach staff that put your bags in the boot will no doubt ask you for a tip, one dolla or one english pound is great to them. We were not on the coach that long before we arrived at the hotel.

Hotel
Greeted by extremely friendly staff, you leave your bags out the front and then go inside the hotel to give your details get a wrist band and recieve a welcome pack. you are then show to your room.

Rooms
The rooms are very nice, ours was clean and well presented, and during our trip we met people and theres were exactly the same. when the suitcase man came with our suitcases we tipped him with american dollas. (You will see that tipping is well appriciated when you hear how little wage the men are on).

Cleaning
The room cleaners are amazing, we had a lot of time for our cleaner, he brought me fresh flowers for my room and my hair everyday and made our room look beautiful.

Food and Drink
This is the major subject, we took a small Detol surface cleaner the size of a personal hand sanitizer and just sprayed our cutlery. I would do this in any country and any resturant I didnt know in England!
We only used water out of a bottle for drinking and cleaning our teeth. The food was fine a range of different things to eat, and plenty for us vegetarians and plenty for the meat eater boyfriend. But what we had discussed it, if it can't be eaten undercooked, don't eat it. So he didnt. he stll had chicken a number of times and was completely fine. As was I. Not one day of illness. the people we met that were getting ill were the people who drank alcohol throughout the day. Obviously your not going to get the hydration from alcohol that you need. We were going throught 16 bottles of water a day. I actually came back home feeling like i'd been on a health kick. We both fel great.
Resturant staff are very nice we befriended one of them and ended up going on a couple of nights out with them.

We loved it and can't wait to go back, people are happy enough to eat like mad when they are on holiday and wonder why they get ill. Our stomachs aren't used to their food and cooking, nor the immense amount of heat out there!

Also for the entier time we were out there, we didnt see any bugs or creepy crawlies! :D

Stayed 11 nights from the 20th Jan to 31st Jan..... what do people want for 500 pound each ? Food was plentiful and good especially the Italian and Chinese Restaurants..... the service and the drinks were good and the staff friendly...... the room overlooking the pool was spacious and clean and the cleaner was top notch...... couldn't fault him.....went to Soho square and Naama bay a few times and to the beach at the sister hotel....... there was a lot of Russians in the Hotel but seen no problems..... the three crowns is a good pub near by the hotel for food and sports on the telly if you need it..... the weather was also spot on everyday and came back with a great tan,,,,,, fags are only 10 pound a sleeve so if yer brave you can pay for most your holiday by bringing quite a lot back :o) I'll be back in Sharm again next winter !!! P.S. try the Quadding it was Brill !!!

we chose this hotel as our travel agent said we could use all the facilities over at the grand hotel across the road but this is not true you can only use there beach and beach bar which was a bit disapointing! but on a whole we did enjoy our stay at club azure the staff were very friendly it was very clean and there was wide range of food to chose from! and all though my partner did get the sharm el shelkh bug and was ill for 2 days we still had a fab time met lots of loverly people, if we were to return we would stay over the road at the grand only because its bigger has 7 pools and my partner loved there pizza's which we had to pay for as we were staying in club azure! we did'nt see much entertainment because the threatre is outdoor and it was to cold to sit on the stone wall!!! there is a little pub called the three crowns about 2 minutes away from hotel who do amazing food and its realy cheap so would recomend you try it we did 3 times even though we were all inclusive!

Just back after 10 day stay and have never been so happy to get home. Within 48 hours of arriving, husband and i both went down with severe stomach probs. We were not the only ones ! Nearly everyone we spoke to had somebody in their party with a tummy upset . One always expects a little tummy trouble when travelling abroad but , this was extreme. Have never ( in 30 years ) experienced this before . Unfortunately cannot pin the cause down so, sorry cannot be more helpful in advising what to avoid. To be fair the hygiene standards in the hotel ( and we couldn't venture far from it !) seemed to be high so, maybe the food was the cause. So very disappointed as we were so looking forward to this hol.

On arriving on the hotel on Sunday evening we were met by friendly staff. As a party of 7 girls aged 24/25 we had booked 3 pool view rooms. We were advised that in order to be together 2 rooms would need to be upgraded to a family sweet with another room in the same block. We were given the opportunity to view the room before agreeing and were very happy with it. It was spacious and very clean and opended out onto the pool.
On the first night we were woken at about 6am by a fire alarm in the foyer of our block. On opening our door we were met with flames and smoke and quickly evacuated. Two of the rooms, each next door to out two rooms, had been set alight. We were returned to our rooms once the fires were extingished. The next night we were awoken at 3.30am by the fire alarm. The guard told us that it was going off due to the wind and go back to our rooms. Minutes later we heard our friends screams as they ran from their rooms. The room next door to them which was on fire the night before was now on fire again and the smoke was coming through the sockets into their room. We were evacutad and moved rooms for the night before being moved hotels the following morning.
The fire was dealt with well but for a bunch of girls in their twenties it was a very scary experience and we were glad to leave the hotel behind. On being moved to the Royal Grand Azure we quickly realised that our original hotel had not been worth the money and was very small for an all inclusive. We had the opportunity to sample the Italian restuarant in our short stay and received 3 pieces of ravioli which wouldnt have fed a child. The restaurant lacked atmosphere and was a disappointment. I believe we would have been bored and dissatisfied with the food had we stayed there the full week.
All in all the hotel was clean and the staff were very helpful and friendly but it was very small with few restuarants for a week stay and the fires, for which we still do not yet know the cause, spoilt out holiday at the Club from the first night.

Looked at this hotel and was a little confused by the variuos reviews but decided to take the booking, Glad we did, the hotel is very nice, always clean and the food is good, always somthing for anyone to find to eat. Yes the porter arrival with your case's waits for his expected tip - but isnt this the usual in many countries as remember they only earn a pittance to run around after you, A £1 coin was very much appreciated, and didnt break the bank. the wander across the road through the sister hotel to the beach is no problem at all and realy not worth bothering waiting for the bus to take you there. fancy a trip into Narma Bay the bus from the hotel goes at 11am returns at 2pm or goes at 7.30pm retuns at 10.00pm, any of these trips are foc, you could also go at 8.30pm and return 11pm but for this you would be charged. A local taxi ride to Narma Bay would cost you 50 egyption pounds, the driver will try to get more from you if you if he can get away with it, agree the 50 egyption pounds before you start your trip. and remember NEVER have the correct change so have the correct money with you. The entertainment in the hotel - Not brilliant but its the usual type you expect put on by the hotels entertainment team. Chineese & itallian resturants on site, tried these but wasnt too impressed at all. Dont hesitate in booking this hotel. Only bad point i can agree with is its not easy to get a sunbed at the pool just where you want one , best places to be in the sun, as the usual happens with the towels been put on and left with never the sight of anyone sitting on them, this could be argued is it the hotels fault or the inconsiderate people who has done this .
