“fantastic hotel loved every minute!!”
Reviewed January 29, 2009

this hotel is fantastic in my eyes!! the food is plentiful and lovely(no palestinians pinching it all) the salads are to die for!
gorgeous pool that is heated.
rooms are big and spacious with bathroom, wardrobe with electronic safe(free), hairdryer, sat TV and balcony or terrace.
no lifts but the highest floor is only 2 flights of winding steps.
lobby bar a little on the small side but get to know Ehab(or Bob as he likes to be called) and he will bring you all your drinks for a little tip.
Pool boys Alaa and Mohammed are fantastic will do anything for you and Alaa looked after us for our whole week.
beach is literally just over the road at sister hotel Grande Azure-big hotel over 800 rooms(Azure Club has only 364)

overall brilliant holiday and cant wait to go back in May!!

We booked this hotel 2 weeks before we travelled. Three 21 year old girls who had never been to egypt before. The hotel is amazing, really amazing grounds and the pool is huuuuggggee!!! The rooms are really big and are cleaned everyday to a high standard!! The food is very varied, i am fussy and liked someting evrynight, also you get a free meal at both the italian and the chinese. if you really hate the food there is a mcdonalds and a KFC 5 minutes down the road.
Nabq bay is a great area, lots of wee shops and places to see. the people are alot nicer and less hassle than namma bay! the people that work in the hotel couldnt do more for you, just remember to tip them as they work for tuppence and work really hard!! the animation team are great and they are always trying to organise something to do all day long!!
Over all stunning place I would definatly go back!! I would say anyone could go here, lots to do for families with kids, young people and couples!!

My wife and I who are middle age/ mature travellers (don't tell the wife I said that!!) have just returned from the Tropicana Club Azure (18/01/09). The purpose of the holiday was not to do a lot but just have a chill out and a bit of sun after Christmas. Overall had a great time in a good quality, very clean Hotel where the staff are extremely helpful and pleasant.
First of all the positive points for the hotel and resort:
- All public area's and the room we had we found extremely clean well maintained with housekeeping you couldn't fault.
- Food given the numbers catered for, decent choice (lunch and dinner was mainly variations of chicken and beef dishes). Good quality, kept fresh and hot - we are not very adventurous eaters and most times found something to suit our pallet so that is saying something!!
- Bar area well staffed and not a problem getting a drink.
- Pool area very large, nice pool, lots of sunbeds and again kept very clean (see also negative comment)
- Hotel has courtesy coaches which go a number of times during the day and evening to the Beach, Old Sharm and Naama Bay.
- Location of Hotel only about a 20 min transfer time from airport - if traveling independently lots of Taxi's available at a cost of 50 Egy Pound - although that is after haggling but do haggle or you will get ripped off.
- Outside of the hotel there are a few shops, we found the better ones are found turning left out of hotel walking 10 mins, but again don't forget haggle or you will get ripped off, cut the price quoted by just under half and you should get a deal at that but be persistent don't give in.
- Also if you do need to top up on the food offered in the hotel for any reason again turning left out of hotel and 10 min walk will find KFC, McDonald's (anything will do if your hungry!!) and Starbucks, nice coffee and chocolate.
- If during the week you get a bit fed up sitting around after dinner do go to Naama Bay for the evening the hotel courtesy coach, lots of shops, cafes and Bars compared to Nabq we certainly wouldn't like to stay there but as I say if you feel you want something a little livelier than Nabq now and then then this place should satisfy you.
NOT so positive points.
- Being early in the season the sunbeds available IN THE the sun are limited - I guess as the season gets going the sun will be higher and this will not be a problem.
- Getting to the beach is a good walk would certainly be difficult if you have any walking difficulty. It is even further walk if you want to snorkel as you have to walk a boardwalk out to the snorkeling area this is about half a mile I would say - next time we will take an organised snorkeling trip as we like to do a bit of snorkeling.
- If you have children in your party in our opinion the Tropicana GRAND azure hotel, just across the road owned by the same group would be a better choice as there is more to keep them occupied.
- Going out expect to be hassled a bit but there again that's the culture of the country but in our opinion it is not unbearable just be polite and say No Thanks and carry on with whatever your doing.
- Be prepared if arriving on a Thursday for a bit of hassle getting through the airport (immigration etc) we experienced very bad organisation and it took us about 90 mins from landing to getting out of the airport.

Overall as I said earlier great hotel would have no reservation in recommending it to anybody and Nabq, if your after a bit of sun and relaxing break it's great.

Hope this review helps.

Rob

I stayed at Tropicana Azure from 18 Dec 08 over Xmas & New Year for 2 weeks. This Hotel is opposite the main Tropicana Azure. It is a new hotel, and the additional activities are yet to be built. We we allowed access through the larger sister resort, but not to use the bar/restaurant/tennis facilities. The pool is unheated-it was only 13 deg while the sea was 20! As it was very windy on several day they did not allow snorkelling off the jetty as it was deemed dangerous.
There are trips that you can go on at extra cost through the rep. There is a free bus to Narmaa Bay but thats only good for one trip.
The alcohol (gin/whiskey/wine) is of very very poor quality.
The rooms are very noisey.
The pool was unheated.
The food was ok some days, others it was poor.

Apart from lieing in the sun (if its warm enough) there is very little to do at this hotel. Yes theres table tennis, boules and the excellent sports team run belly dancing/yoga etc, but this hotel for the money is very poor value. Suggest you try elsewhere as there is much choice-and only go to Sharm area for one weeK.
Good Luck!

My friends and I stayed at this hotel for one week in November 08 and had a fabulous time. We had stayed at the Tropicana Garden Palms (now called Amarante Garden Palms) on several previous occasions but unfortunately were unable to stay there on this occasion due to Thomson no longer having a contract with the hotel. However when we arrived it was lovely to see several staff from the Garden Palms now working at this hotel, especially Alaa, the pool manager and Shawky one of the head waiters.
The hotel is immaculate, spacious rooms and a beautiful large pool area. The dining room is lovely with a good variety of food, which was always hot. We also had very good meals at the Italian and Chinese restaurants.
The staff are superb, very friendly, helpful, and professional, nothing is too much trouble.
Previous reviews have mentioned building work. Our rooms were right next to the building work, which is hidden from the guests by blue screens, and I can honestly say that this did not affect our holiday one bit; there was no noise or dust at all.
I am returning to the hotel with my husband in March 09 and looking forward to our holiday.

After reading some of the previous reviews, I was really worried that I had made a mistake when booking this hotel, but upon on arrival my worries faded.
We were the only couple to check in, so that went quickly. The porter showed us to our room and wouldn't let my partner carry his own bag. We were well impressed with the room. We had a large double bed, the room had air conditioning and the bathroom was large. The whole room was spotless. We had a great view of the pool. Rooms are cleaned every day, and they do a great job. There is a safe in the room, that is free to use, but ours wasn't screwed down, but we felt secure putting items in it. There is a T V in the room that has a couple of English movie channels, which is great when you get fed up of sitting in the bar all the time.
The bar area is small and you end up sitting with other guests, but that just gets you talking to others, and while talking to some other guests, we found that everyone was satisfied with the hotel.
Meals are a bit repetitive, but the food is edible and will sustain you throughout your stay. The salads are tasty and plentiful. The snacks at the bar are practically the same everyday, but again, will keep you going.
You can use the snack bar and beach bar in the Grand Azure, but you must get a voucher from the reception to give the security guard on the Grand Azure gate. It's a short walk over the road, or for those who don't fancy walking, there is a shuttle bus that will take you to the beach. The Grand Azure is a lot bigger than the Azure Club, and for anyone with kids, this is probably the better hotel to choose, as there are water slides in the large pools.
The staff at the Azure Club are fantastic, and they can't do enough for you. For quicker bar service, tip at the start of your stay and you won't have to leave your seat too often.
There is still a little bit off work going on around the hotel, but does not interfere with your holiday in anyway, and anyone saying it does, is going out of their way to look for it. The ampitheatre was almost finished when we left and they had just opend another small bar at the other end of the pool. The pool area is lovely and clean, there are plenty of loungers. The winter sun doesn't get too high, therefore you have to move your bed around a bit to keep out of shade. The pool is very cold, but once you're in, it's lovely.
We tried the Chinese, and although not Chinese food as we have it, it is edible and enjoyable. While away it was my birthday, and they brought me a cake and sang Happy Birthday, which made my day.
I have no complaints at all about this hotel, and I'm sure that in a year or so, it'll find it's feet and be a great place to go to relax.
