This place is simply magic. It's a pristine stretch of beach that feels isolated and quiet. Rooms are thatch huts on a concrete slab but they are kept meticulously clean. There's carpets and rugs down on the slap and a mattress with clean linens and mosquito nets. There's a porch area out the front of the room with hands-down the most comfortable hammock ever.

Shared facilities are great. Consistently hot showers and very clean bathrooms, impressive for this type of accommodation. You're limited to the camps restaurant but that's fine because the food is of a really good quality, plus the general communal area is great for chatting and meeting new people or just chilling out.

There's sunbeds out on the beach but the highlight for me was the sensational snorkeling about 200 meters out from the beach over the reef. Make sure you do this earlier in the morning as it's hard to get out there when the tide's low. Trust me, it's some of the best snorkeling you'll do.. and I'm an experienced diver.

Enjoy.

Third visit and this lovely spot continues to impress. After a few (terrific) days in Cairo, moved to Sawacamp for 6 nights. Perfect as always. The beach is kept pristine, food wonderful, basic although large huts ideal. The mosquito nets are good (no holes) and the toilets/showers kept scrupulously clean. Salama, relaxed as always, nevertheless ensures that high professional standards are maintained. Sawacamp arranged the transfers to/from Sharm for a very reasonable price (2hrs, private transfer EGP400 each way). Shared the cost of an excursion with some of their other guests, again well arranged and well priced.

If you need Air-con, Spa and Power-Showers then find a Hilton - however for me this place is better then a top 5* hotel. Perfection, please don't change anything. Judging from your large number of return guests your offering is spot-on!

Room Tip: Those closest to the seas (numbered 0-4), however they are in high demand!

What an amazing place...truly a vacation spot. The hospitality was great, food amazing, and the idea of camping/sleeping on the beach can actually happen here! Our host was awesome too and he helped us with transportation to and from the camp, as well as transportation to Mt. Sinai for a midnight hike! Make this a destination, you will not regret it. If you want beer, bring it with and he will keep it in your cooler or you can arrange for him to get it ahead of time.

Stayed here for two nights as part of a tour. It was a welcome reprieve from the nightmare that is the ferry crossing from Jordan to Nuweiba. The huts are basic but fab, with the most comfortable hammock outside each hut - trust me once you get in you won't want to leave.

The food is excellent - I can highly recommend the seafood - inexpensive and delicious. The shakshouka for breakfast is also highly recommended, as are the pancakes. The water is lovely and there are sunloungers at the waters edge.nter There are two well fed resident cats and there is internet connectivity via cable in the dining area.

Bring a book, a towel, some sunscreen, a mosquito band and you are set for some wonderful relaxation.

I had my issues with Egypt but I would return just to experience this piece of paradise again

Stayed here as part of a tour for two nights. Came from dahab, really lovely low key place to run, relax, daydream, swim, snorkel, read, meditate in the hammock, sleep, catch some sun, talk to others, enjoy good food. Didn't shower so can't rate that, toilets were clean though, the bed was comfy and a safe place from mozzie a with the netting, food was moderately priced and good, felt safe. Sad seeing all of the delapadated and abandoned camps next door. Glad sawa is still running
