Hotel is certainly not 5*, I’ve stayed in better 1*!

Food was disgusting, the worst I have ever experienced. Both of us were severely ill following dinner in the restaurant, only two days into our holiday. We have now returned home and are still suffering from food poisoning. I’ve uploaded a picture of some of the food... as you can see the chicken is served with “frozen chicken” labels inside! Chips are served raw! Never enough cups or glasses in the restaurant! Food is tasteless! Could only be described as slop!

You can never get a sunbed around the pool (unless you reserve one at 6am) Towel service is available, however there are never any towels!!
Entertainment is terrible.. could not understand a word that was being said most of the time.

All inclusive ends at 12 noon on day of departure, however the hotel failed to tell us this and we were charged 20EUROS each. What a con!

Although the setting of the hotel itself is beautful, as we experienced such a dreadful stay, I certainly would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

After a 1 hour 10 minte transfer (which we were told would take 20 minutes) we walked into reception where the glass doors were dirty, the furniture was shabby, and people were drinking out of plastic disposible cups, all this in a 5* hotel!!
It didnt take long to book in and get to our room which was clean and comfortable (best thing about this hotel).
This hotel is literally in the middle of the desert and takes 40 minutes to get to the nearest town by shuttle bus which costs money, in the middle of shopping we kept getting power cuts which left you in the middle of strange shops with the kids screaming in the pitch black (which we later learnt was the norm as the hotel kept having power cuts, one lasting all day till 8o/clock one night and no back up generators!). Best thing about the town was mcdonalds.
The food was repetitive,horrible and only kept warm hence we all had bad stomachs mine lasting 6 days and losing 10lb in weight, and i am not a fussy eater. Kids lived on pizza, half cooked chips and salad and my grandaughter would eat anything. We have been abroad many times including once to sharm el sheik and have never experinced food this bad before.
The pools are pretty unkempt with missing tiles and lumps of concrete out of the bottom of the pool. On the first day a piece of the grating on the edge of the pool was missing and my 9 year old daughters foot went down leaving her with a badly bruised leg but she was lucky not to break it. Ther are nowhere near enough sun loungers so we had to get up at 6.30am to get some and many had already been saved.
The staff are not happy and will leave you standing at the bar while they are chatting and when you do get a drink it is in a disposable cup, 2 mouthfuls and its gone ( and i only drink soft drinks) so you are constantly up the bar because you are only allowed 2 drinks per person at a time.
Entertainment was not bad but have had better in 3* hotels. We used to go back to our rooms at 9o/clock to watch a film because we were so bored, i dont go to bed that early at home, what a joke!!
The beach was not that bad but the tide was out all day hence you could not go in the sea unless you wanted to tread over broken coral, " ouch" and get knocked of your feet by the waves and brave the hundreds of sea urchins. My other half said that if you braved that the sea life was great, but many people came out with cuts to their legs and arms.
The hotel is 90% russians, need i say more!.
Please dont take my review lightly i have never felt the need to write one before about any place i have stayed but believe me this was a very bad experience for us and i would not like you to suffer the same, we all work hard all year to pay for our holidays and this was the worst one ever.

This holiday was a very disappointing experience for the both of us. The resort is situated in the middle of the no where which means that we had to pay £25 taxi ride into Hurghada to escape the food, terrible entertainment and the rude and arrogant Russian's that stayed there. The meal times where more like feeding time at the zoo rather than the fine dining experience promised. The rooms where basic, facilities basic and there was nothing to do except drink the vile local spirits and beers after a disgusting meal. The staff were rude and did not entertain any requests unless they were given tips and this hotel has ensured we will never return to Eygpt again. This was never a 5 star hotel and should not be advertised as one either more like a 3star and thats me being kind.

i went to Egypt 4 years ago in sharm elsheik and it was brilliant, i decide to go back this year in different place in hurghada. we stay in harmony makadi bay hotel and resort (ex donina) the worst holiday ive ever had. the hotel is definitely not 5 star. we had people that came to visit us but their were not welcome by the reception. the manager of the reception Mr kaled Hassan is inhuman he talks to you like rubbish and refuse our guest to come to spend money in the hotel. after a complain we spoke to Mr Ahmed el Sherif food manager this person was very nice and human took our guest downstairs to enjoy the hotel and told them to come back anytime. two day after our guest come back to stair few hour before them living and the same problem appeared but Mr kaled Hassan refuse again the entry to the hotel and refuse as to speak to Mr Ahmed el Sherif because he knew that he will let us in and argue that the person was not working. i manage to get in touch with him and came to see as and welcome the guest. On that evening he came to apologies because the general manager told him underway he will never done but my husband refuse it because he apologies with a dirty looking . The next day i decide to speak to the general manager Mr Michael Nassif about the behavior of the reception manager by sending writing messages and wet 2 hours in the reception but no response. I went to the office and speak to his secretary to have a appointment but ignore me and told me that the general manager was not in the building, ask me to write another message that what a did. She send a letter to my room to apologize and it will be not possible to meet him before my departure. I believe that it was not professional to make a complain and not to meet the person as request however i find out that the secretary was the wife of the person i was going to complain so i don t know if the message did past on. On the top off this is definitely not a nice place, not able to go on the sea this is not a private beach it is a rock place and very dangerous for the children, the food is always the same , the room is not what i was expected for 5 star,the swimming pool the tile come off the border broken and after midday is not any towel the animation is rubbish only 5 shop around and you are in the dessert you have to do 35 kilometer to go to the town and the taxi from the hotel is 3 time the price of outside. this is not a holiday for family . take a notice of that, this is a warning for the people how want to go there. trip advisor is the best to advice you.

The hotel complex is superb.the pools are fantastic. That's where it ends. The so called restaurant is more like a school canteen.The all inclusive has many non inclusive things to pay for. The food is simply dreadful, every family we met had members ill in the room with stomach issues. I had 13 days where I could not go more than 3 minutes from a toilet.This place might get 2 stars for food in the u.k but it is never 5 star. The service from the majority of the staff can be best described as rudeness on 2 legs. Drinks are served in tiny plastic disposable cups and for 3 nights the beer was warm at best. The best way to sum up the holiday is "ALMOST ACCEPTABLE but Butlins is better quality. Stewart
