“Just the place to relax and unwind”
Reviewed March 2, 2013

The hotel is set in beautiful gardens and by the beach , the rooms are very spacious , upgraded are possible , there are two self service restaurants the food is a continental theme and a good standard , the staff are very attentive and the hotel has a policy of asking guests to leave a tip at the end of your stay to be placed in a special box all tips are shared with all hotel staff .
I would recommend the special meal served in the "beach bar" this takes place serval evenings a week it costs 175.00 E pounds that is £17.50 you get waiter service , your all inclusive drinks and a 5 course meal
The swim up bar pool is also a love experience

Just returned from our 1st visit to this lovely hotel, the beach front is by far the best in the whole bay, really spaced out sun beds so dont feel all squashed in rows like some further down the beach at other hotels.
The house reef is lovely right in front of hotel hubby took loads of great pics and videos of the beautiful fish, but if we go again this time of year he said he would get one of the short wet suits as the water feels really cold when your in it a while.
All the staff are really friendly and the room we had was HUGE two king sized beds and a sofa ara!!
Food was ok but very "samey" (if thats a word?? lol) but you dont expect fantastic food in Egypt and we always found something to eat.
Just a tip you dont need to take any Egyptian money they readily except sterling and euro's, also the staff dont expect a tip, there is a tip box on the reception desk so money can be shared out with everyone.
The gardens are lovely and really looked after,
Would defo go back for a winter break, and the weather was beautiful, it reached 32c which is not bad for february lol but made me remember why we would never ever visit Egypt in August again (the last time of year we went to Sharm in August) and we are proper sun worshippers but could stand sun batheing in 50 plus heat lol
Can see why people go back to this hotel for a relaxing winter break

Room Tip: All rooms have a sea or side sea view and all seem easy to access

Went to Egypt on 21/01/2013 and stayed at Fort Arabesque, Makadi Bay, Hurgarda. The room we were given was huge. Contained two King Size beds, Sofa, Fridge, TV and the bathroom had a walk in shower with loads of room. The room was cleaned daily to a high standard and the room staff left various animals etc, made from towels, on the beds on most days. The fridge was kept stocked up every day.
The restaurant served excellent food and offered lots of choices at every meal time. The food was hot, tasty and plentiful. My only critisism of the holiday was that they allowed smoking in the restaurant which was not pleasant if you were eating. Did our best to avoid smokers but this was not always possoble. They did have another area where smoking was not allowed but this was not as nice as the main restaurant area. The waiters were excellent and nothing was any trouble for them. This was not because they were after a tip as we did not tip until the end of the holiday and the standard of service was excellent throughout.
The bar staff were friendly and helpful. Got to know what you were drinking and brought you drinks as soon as you entered the bar. They were always smiling and enjoyed themselves. So good to see happy staff.
All areas of the hotel were well maintained and clean. The hotel offered shops, hairdresser, beauty treatments and a gym.
The entertainment programme was limited in the evening and is reportedly the same as last year so a lot of people do not go to see the shows. The entertainment team were brilliant and very friendly. Miguel and Nicole worked very hard to make sure everyone enjoyed themselves.
On the whole I had a wonderful holiday and would recommend Fort Arabesque to anyone. I will certainly be going again

Room Tip: I had a brilliant room which was booked with Thomson. It did not have a brilliant view from the balc...

Well done Fort Arabesque for providing a super week's holiday in the sun. We couldn't find fault with this hotel (or with Thomas Cook this time, save possibly in relation to leg-room on the plane). We paid a little extra for the apartment, which proved to be a wise decision with two teenagers, as it provided 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a lounge. This was kept splendidly clean by two cheery men, who made ever more wild towel creations as the week went on, finishing with a life-size crocodile! The beach is absolutely beautiful, as is the snorkelling, but you have to get up early if you want a cabana, as most are reserved at the crack of dawn (worth getting up for I might add). The food is buffet style but was always tasty and we never wanted for something to eat or drink. No-one in our party was ill and hygiene standards seemed high. Our one injury (sea urchin spines in foot, but don't let it put you off investigating the coral) was dealt with quickly and cheerfully by the on-sight doctor at minimal cost. Our daughter had a scuba lesson from Hassan at I-Dive, who was throughly professional. To conclude, if you want a wonderful week lazing about the Red Sea, Fort Arabesque might suit you very well.

Room Tip: The apartment has a great view but is quite a walk to everywhere. Beware if you have small children...

We have just returned from The Fort Arabesque hotel resort and had an absolutely fantastic time and would recommend this place to anyone, we did not want to leave the place or the people. The service in the bars and restaurants was fantastic, very friendly and pleasant and they do remember you and your drinks choice. The food was very good in both east and west wing with an excellent choice to suit all but we did prefer the west wing. I have to admit that we styed in the the Villas so we cannot comment on the rooms in the main hotel but the villas are superb and chatting with guest in the main hotel they loved their rooms. If you wish to treat yourself then you must book these to give youself an enhanced experience. The Pavillion restaurant is soley for the use of villas guests for breakfast and drinks all through the day. The breakfast there is A la carte and the food is served to perfection, the freshly squeezed fruit juice is delicious. The staff in the Pavillion are very freindly and very proffesional, Mohamed, Nabil and Mabeem are so pleasant not only for their services but also their company. Anyone on the resort can pay for the A la carte lunch or dinner at the pavillion and we can personally recommend it. Hanni and Mohammed the cleaners at the Villas are very pleasant and hard working, the towel art on the bed is very good and humorous. The gardeners, pool cleaner and all the other staff at the hotel work so hard to keep it looking good and the service to a level we cannot fault. You have to try this place for yourself but we will certainly return and hopefully in a Villa but in any circumstance we will go back. We stayed in Villa 11 from 15 to 22 February and want to pass on our thanks to all at this hotel, thank you for a lovely holiday.

Room Tip: Try the ultimate desert adventure offered by the holiday reps. You ride across the desert in various...

Having just returned from a week at the fort we where very impressed. Traveled with First choice a good experience. Was given a ground floor room 138 seconds walk out the patio doors to the heated swim up bar pool, then through the lovely grounds onto the beach. The room was large and very clean top shower cubicle, yes perhaps the grout and tiles where a little dated but some up-grading is taking place to the east wing. Still think its the best one to stop in. Staff generally friendly and helpful. Buffet style food great choice meat, fish, chicken,pastas,e.t.c hot and well cooked, loved it. Not much fast food for kids. And again on the entertainment if your a young family perhaps not enough going on to keep the kids happy as the hotel hosts a good mix of British,Germans and Italians. so entertainment is done in three different languages. but for an hour per night in the arena bar there was always a good act on. If your a couple who wants to chill out, enjoy good food in beautiful surroundings and crystal clear waters of Makadi bay i would recommend the fort Arabesque for you.

Room Tip: Higher floors best views end of east wing, facing west. but ground floors best for nipping in and ou...
