“Cant wait to go back”
Reviewed August 6, 2012

My partner and I visited the Spa in July after a stay at the Makadi Palace in April. The trip from the airport was a little painful but on arrival we were immediately greeted with a cold flannel, cold glass of wine and fruit juice. Check in was quick and professional. The rooms and balcony if you have a junior suite are huge!! Plenty of closet space, huge bathroom and huge bed. This hotel is geared up for luxury and relaxation. There are so many food choices there are just not enough days to try them all. We did not experience one bad meal and I can thoroughly recommend paying the extra to dine under the stars with a six course tasting menu this was amazing. There is no evening entertainment but you can go to all three of the other hotels for this. The staff were extremely friendly and couldn't do enough for you. The welcome reception was a nice touch so you can hear about the hotel and meet some of the staff who serve you so well. The pool guys were so attentive they wouldn't even let me set up my own sun lounger. They never expected tips but we tipped every day because frankly they deserved every penny. The hotel was quiet in July but we loved this. Being busy professionals we wanted quiet and relaxation and guaranteed sun! The snorkelling if you go down to the Sunrise bit of the beach was the best. We saw stingrays and the most amazing fish if you go just a bit further out. Make sure you get your sea shoes this is a must! I cant rave about this hotel enough. We are already looking at going back and have so far talked 3 other couples into going this year. The only negative about the whole trip was we only booked one week instead of two. Dont be put off by the small amount of building still going on, once you are there and looking out over the infinity pool or swimming in the other huge pool under the sun you wont even notice. Pure Heaven and I look forward to my next stay.

Room Tip: If you email the hotel and ask for the room view you want they are pretty good at arranging this for...

This hotel is excellent in many ways but lacks just a few things. The positive side is the rooms are very big and clean. Staff are all kind and helpful. Pools are both great and clean. The food is very good at the Asian and both steak and fish restaurants are good. The view restaurant is average to good for breakfast and average to good for lunch. This is a place just to laze around but if you want any entertainment you need to go next door to the Makadi Palace or Grand Makadi.
What worries me is will this hotel ever be finished with its Spa,rooms with pool or buffet. A little entertainment would not go a miss and i dont mean the beach bar that you pay for on a night time which serves local drinks for a charge

We have just returned from a weeks stay at the wonderful Makadi Spa Hotel. Every aspect of our stay was perfect. The rooms are spacious and bright, the infinity pool is fantastic with great views over the red sea and the service is great - friendly faces and always there to help.

The restaurants are to die for - there were not enough days to try all those that were available to us but if you only have a week, try all those in the Makadi spa - Steakhouse, Seafood, Tapas, Asian (Cantonese, Chinese and Japanese) and the View Restaurant. We also had access to the other Red Sea hotel Restaurants. All were great, tasty and varied with large portions.

As the Hotel is for Adults only - it is peaceful and relaxing. We will definately return again. I seriously could not find any fault with this hotel. Try it you will not be disappointed!

Room Tip: All good with views of the pool and Red Sea

the weather was hot hot hot reaching low 40's everyday - this is a dry heat which makes a change from humidity of other places like the carribean - the resort is made up of a number of hotels but this is the jewel in the crown - adults only which was the dream. very very large opulent rooms which we liked . very quiet at the moment as about 80% complete - no structural work left just the fittings of the presedential room and spa. a great time to go in my opinion as im sure the prices will rocket next year. the swimming pools are a star attraction and the infinity pool is fabulous. on the whole the food was excellent - asian , thai and steak are recommended. avoid the tapas as this was terrible . staff are friendly and very attentive. we didnt leave the resort as didnt like the sound of haggling and hurghada didnt seem to have anything worth visiting

Room Tip: 3rd floor to get good views of the sea and resort

First of all anyone giving this hotel a negative review seriously needs to get into perspective what is expected from a holiday at this resorts level and the price you pay for it……..IT WAS TRULY FANTASTIC!!.
Myself and my husband have just returned from the most relaxing and enjoyable honeymoon, the hotel itself is fantastic with all the modern luxuries of a 5* hotel. The rooms are a brilliant size with the biggest beds I have ever seen! The air con whilst being a little on the noisy side did a great job of keeping the rooms to a very welcoming cool level after basking in the wall to wall sunshine and 40◦ heat daily!! There are currently 5 restaurants in the hotel and after eating at all but 1(due to not eating fish) we could not say anything bad about the food or the quality of it AT ALL but I must say the steak and Asian were the most enjoyable for us. The staff were very friendly and attentive throughout the hotel especially the infinity pool bar boys and the Asian restaurant waiters (Ali does great tricks!!).Part of the hotel spa is still under construction but not at any time did this disrupt our holiday in anyway as the noise is kept to a minimum. The infinity pool was amazing – a little piece of heaven in the sunshine. The snorkelling is great and must be experienced but shoes are most needed .Clean beach towels are brought to your room every evening along with a plate of canapés. Tipping is NOT taken for granted by any of the staff we met, but we did tip the pool bar guys as they were so attentive at all times, and also our room guy who left us amazing towel sculptures, daily …. I’m sure they go to towel folding master classes!!!!! .
We will defiantly be returning to The Makadi Spa sooner rather than later and can’t wait to see the finished results. So if you are looking for a relaxing holiday, on which all you have to think about, is which cocktail to order next??…… then this is the place for you!

The hotel was exceptional, the service outstanding and the food delightful - little touches like afternoon canapes in the room, and the towel sculptures all went to making it a fabulous holiday, only problem was that it was too short. If and do hope when you go say Hi to Anthony who runs the pool bar - the happiest chap I have ever met!! - will be going back soon

Room Tip: Ask for a sea view on the 1st floor

We stayed at the Makadi Spa for one week early July. We arrived at night and the sight of the Makadi Spa complex is wonderful. Looking around during the day we were delighted to see that the resort is beautiful, clean and well attended by the staff. The junior suite is very stylish and immaculate and the air-con is fairly noisy, but works OK.
We overlooked the infinity pool/red sea. The little balcony is well furnished and it was a joy to look out and see the resort as the views were fabulous. The resort is children free and this is reflected in the peaceful and tranquil resort. No inflatables, loud music or entertainers trying to press gang you into doing something ‘fun’!
The hotel is new so is still a work in progress but DO NOT let that stop you from coming here. There is minimal/almost none-existent noise of any building work as they work on completing the International Buffet Restaurant, which will be a welcome addition. The food is outstanding in the restaurants, and in particular the Asian Restaurant. The staff excels at being attentive, both in the restaurants and in the pool bar. Nothing is too much trouble and they will go out of their way to make your stay special. There is no pressure to tip but we did as the service was without fault and well deserved. The only slightly negative points I could make is that in the lounge bar the drinks, especially the cocktails, are hit and miss. This is just exuberance from the bar staff to try and ‘spice up’ your drink and make it ‘special’ for you.
You must try snorkelling whilst you are here. Just walk down to the beach and into the sea. It is like being in a tropical fish tank. You must get some beach shoes as the coral is sharp and the beach is very hot to walk on. The coral reefs are roped off for protection.
If you are looking for sun, sea and relaxation then here is the place for you. We were so impressed we will be going back in December!
