We stayed for one night in transit at this strangely shaped concrete block of a hotel just off the road to Hurgada and within reach of Makadi Bay. The hotel is not on the beach but you can take a shuttle or a golf car or a taxi, or you can walk; and you can use any of the other hotels facilities in Makadi Bay. The main attraction is the golf course, of course! Being a non golfer I have never understood how you can justify such green grass in a desert. However I did go for a jog along the greens, and really enjoyed it.
There is an annex which has just opened, with more rooms, a snack restaurant and a beautiful brand new pool which is heated and very good to swim in. The fitness room was a disappointment and needs a little attention as was the small spa area.It had literally just been built and still smelt of paint and plaster. There were two running machines which were not connected, some weights, a rowing machine, and a water dispenser that did not work. They had two big LG flatscreen television sets which were better quality than the ones in the rooms. I have never understood how people can watch TV while they exercise. I prefer music. But they did not have any.Take note that the jacuzzi they show here on the hotel photos is actually the one from the sister hotel. The golf hotel only has a very small jacuzzi and no one had bothered to turn on the sauna and steam room. The whole area felt as if it had been finished in a hurry.
The hotel has a strange layout which makes it difficult to get around if you do not use the lift. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and appear very elegant and modern. On closer inspection however they are rather cheaply finished and furnished. Ours needed cleaning a little better. The air conditioning was a bit loud as well. There was a big balcony overlooking the golf course. Overall they were excellent rooms. The food was very good too, served in a smart restaurant with a trendy terrace looking out towards the built up area in the distance. We noticed that people came from other hotels in the bay to eat here. The staff generally tried hard to please and were polite; with the exception perhaps of one or two who were loud and arrogant. We could not help noticing,as is the custom here, that there were no female staff at all. Consequently my wife felt uncomfortable sunbathing on her own, close to the bar.
The hotel is small and personal and has all the comforts as well as a beautifully landscaped golf course on its doorstep. If you play golf and use the amenities of the sister hotel Star and Spa and visit the Makadi Bay beach area, you will have a good holiday.

My mother and I felt really at home and we were very well looked after by all the staff.
We also used the Makadi Star hotel & the Spa and found the staff very friendly and
extremely helpfull. We also dined at the Italian and the Indian restrurants which were
both excellent.
We hope to return to the Makadi Golf Hotel very soon with other members of our family.

We spent a very pleasant enforced 6 day stay due to volcanic ash disruption. The rooms are very roomy and well appointed. All overlook the golf course with either a balcony or a verandah. Beautiful bathroom / dressing room with bath, separate shower, and separate toilet/bidet room. Large comfortable bed. Big flatscreen TV.
We only ate breakfasts at this hotel - but this was high quality hot/cold buffet with fresh cooked omelettes etc to order.
We did frequent the bar a lot for home-made cocktails made by an enigmatic barman!
The swimming pool is small - only really suitable for a dip to cool down.
The golf course is great for an early morning jog - 3 hilly miles round the track.
The hotel is set within the golf course and is 1km from the main resort - with its hotels, and the beach. It is therefore not ideal for a beach holiday. The walk is not unpleasant though.
Ideal for golfers (green fees aren't cheap!), and the 19th hole is a very nice place to watch the sun go down.

We were transferred to the Jaz Makadi Golf when we were unable to return home during the volcanic ash disruption. To be honest, we couldn't believe our luck! A very stylish hotel with fantastic staff who went out of their way to assist us during the rather unusual circumstances. The main resort was also of a very high quality, it was walkable but a bus regularly went between the two sites. We we fortunate to have a morning out on the golf course which was great fun. As non-golfers we still enjoyed the fabulous facilities on offer here, would recommend this to anyone as their 'planned' holiday!

We have just had a great holiday staying at the Makadi Golf Hotel. This impressive golf hotel was decorated to a high standard, breakfast was always excellent and we also enjoyed the jacuzzi pool on our varanda.

As a family of four we also used the nearby sister hotel during the day for the pool and lunch, which was also excellent.

We would definately recomment this hotel.

A small but lovely hotel. Staff are gentle, courteous, and welcoming. They always have a smile for you.The food is excellent, being "a la carte" every evening.

The opportunity to use the pool at the sisiter hotel "Makadi Star" is most welcome.

Golf Course is good, enjoyable by all standard of golfers.
