The hotel was excellant throughout! The staff were very friendly and wanted our holiday to be as relaxing and enjoyable as they could make it.
The food, service, cleandlyness, helpfulness was beond expectations!
A shuttle bus every hour to the hotels private beach. The beach was clean and the sea was clear.
If you want a really chilled holiday i would defintely recommend you book this hotel.
We will definely be going back!

Room Tip: Choose a room over looking the golf course

Arrived at Jaz Makadi golf Hotel on 18th September for two weeks of golf and relaxation.

Having read other reviews on Tripadvisor, we were hoping for a quiet holiday where along with a few rounds of golf we could spend some time around the pool without the usual loud animation teams that seem to inhabit many other hotels.

This hotel is a wonderful oasis, very quiet (only 90 rooms), mainly German,French and English guests with no children under 13.

As previous reviews state the rooms are large, cean and very comfortable.
You can also get your laundry done free, taken in the morning one day and comes back in the evening the next day. Great service for sweaty golf clothing.

All the staff who work here are amazing, they can not do enough to make your stay like home. From the Manager to the cleaners and garden staff they all smile and say hello.
Unfortunately we do not know all the names but the two Michael's (big and small ), Anwar and Beshoy from the bar , Ibrahim, Alaa, and young Mohammed from the restaurant, Fathy at reception and Mohammed at the pool all made our stay very special.

Food was the best I have had in Egypt, plentiful and fresh for all meals and never a queue in sight !!
The Nineteen Pool Restaurant and Bar had a good menu, all freshly prepared from Club sandwiches, salads, pizza, pasta and burgers to complete meals. They also had ice-cream available all day.
On of the highlights of day at the pool was tea-time where a trolley was wheeled out with tea, coffee, fruit smoothies and cake.
The two Michael's also make the best ice coffee I have ever had.

We played 5 rounds of golf on the 18 hole Par 72 course.
Desert golf is quite different to playing in the UK. The grass is a special salt tolerant type, they de-salinate the sea water slightly but it is still a major challenge to keep the course in top condition.
We did find the grass on the greens very long the first round we played, this was probably because we were still playing summer-time and they were gradually cutting and preparing for the many more golfers who would arrive from October.
The course is long off the men's back tees (over 7000 yards), my partner thought I had an unfair advantage as the ladies tee's on the Par 4 and 5's were about 100 yards in front !!
You definitely need a golf-buggy for the 18 hole course, if you are playing in the summer months go out early, like 7:30 am as it just gets too hot by midday (37oC in late September).
We managed to complete 18 holes by 11:30, but thank goodness there was a breeze and an icebox on the back of golf-buggy.
Charlie, the golf attendant was super at organizing our golf buggy and making sure we were ok out on the course.
We took our own clubs, £15 carriage each way with Thomas Cook flight. This did save us money as hiring clubs, shoes along with green fee and buggy hire is not cheap.
The Pro-shop does have packages for green fees and buggy hire.
I did think the Pro prices for a private lesson were expensive (45 euro's per hour) more than my golf club Pro in England charges.
In all the golf was challenging for myself with a handicap 32 but also very enjoyable.

To anyone who is thinking of a holiday here at the Jaz Makadi Golf Hotel ... you wil not regret it.

Room Tip: Rooms over 9 hole course have sea-view and sun in the morning Rooms over 18 hole course have golf v...

Just returned from a 7 day stay at the Jaz Makhadi Bay View, Egypt. What a truely lovely place.
read a few reviews on here before i booked and noticed how quiet people had said the hotel was. Of course i hoped that my husband and i would ecperiance the same thing and we did! On arrival we noticed that there was nobody else around!! We were told that there were only 40 people staying in the hotel so it really felt very exclusive.

The interior is modern/boutique with marble, plush soft furnishings and chandeliers. We were greeted with a cocktail and some freshing cleansing towels by some exceptionally friendly front desk staff, who welcomed us and gave us some information about the restaurants and services.
We arrived very late but they had arranged for some food to be delivered to our room which included a fresh fruit platter, cheeses, pickles and fresh bread. A very nice touch.

Our room was beautiful, spacious and had everything we needed. Large flat screen tv, fridge (stoked with beers, coke, fanta, sprite and water - all part of the all inclusive expect for the beer as this is an import), sofa, large balcony, huge bathroom with seperate shower, toilet and bath. Free safe, plenty of storage and air con. Egyptian cotton bedding, to die for pillows, plenty of fresh towels and plush furnishings. We had a very minor issue with our key card sometimes not registering and knocking out our electircs but when we called the front desk, they couldnt have been more helpful. Within minutes we had facilities staff trying to ressolve the issue and they could apologise enough (even though for us it wasnt a big deal, they seemed very upset we had been inconvienienced!)

Although we were all inclusive, we werent given the typical wrist band, instead the staff simply asked for our room number on the first day and from then knew who was half board and who was all inc, and never asked again. Perfect!
Breakfast is buffet style served in the Eagle Restaurant which is really lovely, with plenty to chose from. Cereals, hot food (no bacon!), omlettes, crepes, fresh bread, fruits, meats and cheeses.
Lunch is served the Ninteen Bar by the pool. Food is ordered off the menu and is cooked fresh. What a lovely difference to all inclusive! Lots to chose from such as pizzas, chicken and meat dishes, burger and fries, pastas, sandwiches and salads. I tried the pastas, salads and bbq chicken and my hubby ate burger and chips for the whole week..lol! All food was hot, well cooked and the portions were big.
Evening meal is served back in the Eagle Restaurant and is buffet style. There was always a meat, fish and vegetable option, along with rice, potato, veg and pasta. There were pates, pickles and cheeses in the plenty and salads, olive and lots of beautifully presented desserts.

The hotels caters for a large german market and all the staff are fluent in German. They got a bit of s shock to have an english couple although thier english is also very good. The tv channels in t he room are mostly german but there are 2 english movie channels which was nice for the odd bit of tv.

This hotel is a golf resort and although we are not golfers, it didnt matter. I believe from other guests that the course fees are around 130euros which includes clubs, buggy and green fees.
The greens and gardens are well kept and plush and the facilities are spotless. The staff are very attentive and are always straightening loungers and collecting glasses, the bar staff and waiters remember your drinks and preferences which is a nice touch. The rooms were kept spotless and our cleaner would often give us towel animals on our bed :)

We didnt venture into Hurghada or down to the bay or the beach but there is a shuttle bus every hour down to the resort. Apparenlty the beach was packed so im happy we arent beach people. The pool is large enough refreshing and there is a jacuzzi and sauna plus well equipt gym.

Can safetly say we will be back again!

My husband and I spent the first two weeks of September at this fabulous hotel. The hotel itself is modern, clean and spacious, but it was the staff that really made our stay the most relaxing enjoyable holiday that we’ve had in a long time. From the moment we arrived, we were enthusiastically welcomed by the bell captain and reception staff. To the day we left and were seen onto and waved off on the bus by all from the Manager to the Golf Pro. They really do go out of their way to make you feel at home.

Our ‘twin’ room (as this was all that was available to book via First Choice) in fact turned out to be a very well appointed and very large ‘king-size’ room. The room width patio doors, lead on to the large balcony overlooking the 18th hole of the golf course, and on an evening provided glorious views of the setting sun.

Both the restaurant and pool bar provided excellent quality food, and unlike many other ‘all inclusives’ that we’ve experienced, we never tired of it. There was a wide ranging menu every evening, and every evening, that menu was different. During our first week when there were only 7 rooms occupied, they informed us that dinner would be down by the pool that evening. We were treated to a very romantic candle lit, five course ‘Moon Light Dinner’, overlooking the pool and Makadi Bay itself.

Whilst I leisurely lounged around the pool during the day, my husband would spend a couple of hours out on the golf course or down on the driving range with the resident Golf Pro, Gamal. I regret to say that neither of us got around to using the hotels Health Club, which included a gym, sauna, steam room and Jacuzzi.

The evening entertainment was mainly self-made in the bar after dinner, although there were live acts on a Tuesday and Saturday.

Finally, we’d just like to say a special thank you to Gamal, Anwar, Fathy, Ibrahim, Aled-you know who you are!! Alaa and Beshoy; I’m just sorry we can’t name check everyone, but you all made our 10th Wedding Anniversary very special indeed.

My wife and I have just returned from a fabulous week at this lovely hotel. The Manager expects you to treat it as your second home. The bedrooms are spacious with a lovely bathroom - with both bath and shower. All the staff are very helpful and friendly. The restaurant is great - with the food delicious and varied. A very quiet hotel, with only 90 odd rooms. There were about 30 couples there (split roughly 50/50 between Brits and Germans). Small gym but lovely walk around the golf course. Sauna/steam room and Jacuzzi. Just a lovely place to have a very chilled and relaxed holiday. Would definitely recommend it.

Room Tip: All rooms are good.

My wife & I have just returned from a weeks stay at an absolutely brilliant hotel. I'm not a golfer so didn't really appreciate that in July it is simply too hot for golf, hence why we were two of only 14 guests - yes 14! The rooms are great, the food was really good & certainly enough variety for a weeks stay and we almost had the pool to ourselves, apart from a great couple we met from Yorkshire. What set this hotel apart though, was the management & staff, who were all absolutely brilliant, very attentive & friendly. There wasn't too much by way of evening entertainment, but an evening spent in the bar, enjoying Michael the barman's great cocktails was more than enough for us. Having no children, or dare I say it, Russians, helped make it a very relaxing place to rest, enjoy the fantastic weather & re-charge the batteries. I highly recommend it, but also hope that not too many others discover this little piece of heaven.

Room Tip: The hotel is very small and rooms have views either over the Championship golf course & mountain...
