I was disappointed in the hotel cleanliness was OK, what surprised me the most, personal share of fruit - get more than three pieces of water melon was beyond my strength and water melon was only every three or four days ... and the same was true for turkey breast - when you came right to the start of the evening they have it but for half an hour later it was not meat .... and animation program for only small children ...very boring

Although this hotel is a few years old now it has all the usual facilities and has been well maintained. The 2-storey design centered around the huge pool, lovely gardens and the private beach make the hotel an attractive place to spend a relaxing and/or entertaining time. Our room was clean and spacious. Towels can be changed daily if you wish, aircon is super-efficient, and beds are comfortable. The free digital room safe was particularly appreciated; with AI, there is no need to carry around money or documents so it's good to be able to lock it away. Another good idea is the free beach/pool towel system. I agree with the comments about the hotel made by the other reviewers.
For me, the only disadvantage of the hotel was the fact that it was not pleasant to take an evening stroll outside the hotel. There was nothing to see or do unless you took a taxi to the nearest shopping mall. Hurghada has thousands of apartments and dozens of huge resort hotels that are half built and look abandoned; presumably the developers ran out of money or are waiting for the tourist situation to improve. It is NOT an attractive town!!

This two floors hotel is widely spaced, the spacious rooms are either on a sea view or a pool view, both are attracting. The hotel is located at 15 km from Hurghada, but it is not a problem, first because Hurghada is reachable by taxis or by shuttle buses from Senzo Mall at 20 min walk from the hotel. Second the hotel is self contained in food and drinks if guests are on an all inclusive stay. The nights are well kept by an excellent animation team who presents a daily show that varies from day to day, belly dancing, acrobats, fun games, kids show, discotheque, Nubian and African dances, etc. The mornings and afternoons are spent on the beach or the pool where there are activities that range from gymnastics to beach volley ball, belly dancing lesson and aerobics without forgetting water sports. Kids have their considerable share by morning and evening activities. The gym is well equipped with all the basics, spa and massage are paid. Food is nice and varied specially the sweeties, barbecues are usually in the terrace of the restaurant, distracted by the variety of choices guests may un-advertently overlook it. Hotel staff is helpful and smiling, noticeably there no women. Rooms are cleaned with care, gardens are beautifully colorful. Bargaining with taxis is a must, the fare from the hotel to Senzo mall should not exceed EGP 10. Going out of the hotel is not a good choice unless needed to buy cigarettes or some forgotten stuff, a short vacation is meant to stay in one place if it satisfies all needs, and that what Grand Seas hotel provides with perfection.

Room Tip: All rooms are excellent, it depends on guests preference pool or sea view?

The other half loves his windsurfing but, not being able to afford our usual Dahab destination, we undertook a bit of research (Trip Advisor of course) and got a great deal at this hotel. Only 10 mins from Hurghada airport meant a more relaxed arrival at the hotel than the usual 90min transfer to Dahab. Everything was spotlessly cleaned and WORKED!! There were a selection of bars and restaurants, entertainment every night (not my cup of tea, but many people liked what was on offer - and it wasn't loud or intrusive), daily exercise classes by the pool & volleyball/boules for those who were less slovenly than me. Our room (2126) overlooked the pool (sea views are also available) - it was large (containing two double beds with ease), easy chairs & table, TV, fridge, plenty of storage, balcony with wicker table/chairs, etc - the air con worked well (though hardly needed due to the design of the property). The bathroom was a good size, no lack of hot water, a decent hairdrier and shower over the bath. The grounds were always being tended. A daily fumigation over the pool kept any bugs to a minimum, though it was entertaining to see those still languishing on the sunbeds skuttle to their rooms as the plumes of smoke enveloped the site. The beach was clean with ample sunbeds and hosted a dive centre at one end and a wind/kite surfing centre the other (hubby was well pleased! Windsurfing for 3 days with modern kit was 150Euros, or 50Euros a day). The beach front was on a large, shallow bay so very safe for children, but which then opened out onto the sea. The food was plentiful but after 10 days became a bit same-ish. A guide told us that Cairo currently have foot and mouth, which meant the supply of meat was limited. Nevertheless, we never went hungry and didn't succumb to tummy upsets. Hurghada is split into different areas - this hotel is out of the main town by a taxi ride of about 8 mins. The hotel ask that food/drink ins't brought on site which was never a problem for us. We did a trip of the rest of Hurghada and there's plenty of nightlife & restaurants if that's your bag, with a beautiful new marina. The orignal 'old town' was fascinating, but I think doing the tour with a guide was best (only £7 each for a full afternoon). It was possible to book the usual Bedouin/Safari trips plus tours to Luxor (4 hours travelling each way) or Cairo (even further). Most of the hotel occupants were Russian (a daily 747 came in over the hotel), with a goodly amount of Egyptians, Germans, a few Brits and French. The aircraft flightpath was right over the hotel but was never intrusive, in fact, it was interesting. All in all a great holiday and one I'd recommend for those wanting a sunshine break (25 - 30 degrees whilst we were there, with a nice cooling breeze off the sea), or something more demanding with the watersports & diving.

have just returned from a week stay at this hotel, food is good, there was always something to eat,the waiters work hard and are very friendly, the bar staff are really friendly, the shop owners on the complex were very pushy, and a bit arrogant. the boat trip we went on for a snorkelling trip was very good,we found if you book a trip on your first day there they dont pester you at all after that. The animation team were very good, and very friendly,if you have young children they will be very useful, the pool bar staff were very helpful and friendly. We hired the hotel taxi to take us to the senzo mall, bout 5 mins taxi ride away, senzo mall has a mcdonalds and a supermarket, the fresh fish counter is worth a look!!!!! The rooms we had were clean and spacious, two double beds in each room, overall a reasonable hotel, but it is over run by germans, that can be rude and arrogant especially at meal times! The beach is very nice and te water is clear, also it is not deep.

Room Tip: sea view rooms are more spacious,

Went to this hotel mainly to kitesurf. The spot is a strange layout with a ramp down into the water. If your a beginner you will walk/body drag a fair way to beginner sandbank. If your intermediate/advanced you will have no troubles. Water was cold I had a 3/2 wetsuit and was glad of it! I'm doing water starts and had the sandbank all to myself for 3hrs was great!!

Hotel: is clean, food is ok, staff are friendly, small bottles of water is free, coke is free from a bottle cans are charged, room service tried to order twice didn't have what we asked for and there's a charge for that to.
Had lots of massages at the spa, my lady would walk away during massage then come back, she chewed gum loudly the whole time. One massage room is just off reception this isn't the greatest place to be massaged. I have back problems which is why I had so many massages.

My partner was very ill vomiting/diahorrea for 4days. We are not sure if it was heat stroke or food poisoning. Staff when they saw me all asked about him and offered natural solutions to help him.

There are seven shops outside the hotel. Gift shop lovely guy just willing to talk and laugh with you no troubles, same for the gentleman in silver shop and picture shop. The t shirt shop guys (father and son) are very annoying, very pushy. The beauty shop, when my partner felt better he had a shave they shredded his face, lots of cuts, could hear the razor scrapping as they didn't massage the shaving gel in. I had a pedicure, can't complain feet were soft and looked much better. They were doing a ladies hair it looked agony, her hair being pulled so painful.
Pharmacy the man in here was fantastic so helpful, pleasant, nothing to much trouble and he speaks good English which was great. Not sure what the other shop was.

We were staying between May 8-15, 2011. Theoretically was a 4 star hotel, but in reality is poorer. The hotel amenities were good, room was also spacious, but nothing special. We had half course, but even for water we had to pay., that costs about 8 times more than in the Senzo Mall (ca. 3km away from the hotel). Water and even fruit were not allowed into the hotel, I do not understand why? It was written that for hygienic reason, but in my opinion was only pure business and profit reasons. This is not an issue in the whole world. The hotel employees were behaving typically Egyptian, i.e. asking aggressively for tips (bakshis) even if no service was made. This was quite annoying, especially that I was not used to this customs. Now I know, after traveling in the half of the world, that this is teh worst in Egypt. It was a real challenge to leave the hotel and to walk to the Senzo Mall, every second we were asked by taxi drivers to take us to the shopping mall, and the rate was European, although the fuel is 10 times lower than in Europe.
Even after half an hour of sunbathing we were overrun by several companies that were organizing various day trips. We have went for Quad Safari, Snorkeling and private taxi trip to Suez, Cairo and Gizeh. I can honestly state that only half of the promised services were true: they were arriving with one hour delay and they did not apologize at all. The trip to Suez and Cairo was very stressful, drivers were unreliable and were not serious. Although the price was agreed and paid the full amount in advance they were trying to get more.
The food was good and divers, the hotel park, pool and beach was nice and clean. Internet was ridiculously very high, ca. 7EUR/hour. Luckily in the Senso Mall was free of charge. We have even found out that there is a very reliable shuttle bus between Senzo Mall and Hurghada center that stops on request at the front of hotel. I two way trip costs no more than 5EGP (ca. 0.6EUR). Taxi is unreliable and costs almost as high as in European cities.
