“Very nearly 5 stars!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 20, 2013

My friend and I have just returned from an extremely relaxing stay in this hotel. After a bit of a disappointing start, we spent the rest of the week totally impressed. We had booked a 'promotional room' and got the holiday for an exceptionally good price so we were not expecting the usual luxurious Egypian rooms of our previous stays in Sharm. However, the room we were given would not have met a basic B&B standard. It was very small, very worn and the electric points didn't work. To be fair the minute we pointed this out the next morning we were offered a choice - upgrade to a 'superior room' for 5 € a night or move to another room. We decided not to pay the extra and the second room was much better: nothing special but definitely adequate with a small sitting area, working plugs and close to the beach. Well that's it for negatives.
The grounds of the hotel are spectacular. Beautifully kept, pristine lawns and flowerbeds surround the river which runs through the complex and there are numerous little areas to sit on comfortable chairs in privacy and enjoy watching the world go past. The food is absolutely fine with a range of fooods to suit most people (even a diet corner but who goes all inclusive to diet!!). All the restaurants serve the same salad starters and puddings but as these are fresh and delicious that is not a problem. A previous reviewer complained about 'recycled' dishes but we know this to be untrue. We were frequntly the last in the restaurants and watched the staff tip everything that was left over into huge, communal bins! We also did not experience any cold food as everything was kept at sizzling temperature. We tried most of the cocktails and enjoyed them all and the wine is served in the bottle and, whilst not exactly top standard, extremely drinkable. The sundowner crepes and ice-cream should not be missed!
We went to the Spa twice - once for the whole Hamman experience and the other for a full body massage. We would definitely recommend you do this. The service is fantastic, the expertise of the staff second to none and the price is very reasonable; especially if you haggle for a special deal. We paid about £50 each for our 3 hours of treatment. For a bit of exercise, my friend went to the gym which she thought was well equipped and I did daily Zumba on the beach - great fun and suitable for all standard including people like myself who fall over their feet! We never met any other English speaking people there but as we do not go abroad to meet lots of other Brits that wasn't a problem. In fact when we said we were Scottish and Irish I think we got a bit of extra attention.
If the owners upgraded some of their basic rooms to add that little bit of extra luxury that so many of the Egyptian hotels do so well, this would be 5 stars all the way. As it is, I would still thoroughly recommend it and may well return next year!

Room Tip: If you want anything more than basic, you should probably pay for a superior room.

My husband and I spent a week her in November and it was just perfect.
The weather was fab and hotel even better.
Yes the english are in the minoraty but it really didn't matter. very friendly staff and guests.
The odd tip always goes a long way but not once did I feel like I had to.
Food: never had any worries finding anything to eat.
All in all can't complain about a thing.
Some reviews moaned about a long walk etc etc.....go to a smaller hotel then. There is even a boat if you fancy being lazy.
Fantastic holiday.

Room Tip: tip the reception man when you hand in passports.....he decides where you go :)

Excellent hotel with staff to match, quality of food was up to 5 star standard and staff acted in a friendly and efficient manner, we never had to wait for our glasses to be topped up. The service in the lounge bar matched any I have experienced in top hotels in London. Cleanliness in all areas was very good, even the beach toilets were spotlessly clean and had hot running water which as I have found in other resorts abroad and at home in the UK is extremely rare.
We were there in the first week in January, so you could only sun bath between 11.00am and 3.00pm, so a tip is to take warm clothing for the evenings which can be a bit chilly.

Room Tip: it is very reasonable cost to upgrade the rooms so I recommend this as an option.

The resort is huge and there is all kinds of activities. We we're given a family room for two people, so we had plenty of room. The service was very friendly and good, the all inclusive-package was wonderful!

We loved this hotel, we read the monologue posted in October but have to say we had none of the problems discussed with speaking English, animations, room size or tipping.

All the staff spoke English and were most happy to do so, even to the extent where they seemed to prefer serving us to the Germans, later in the holiday they did explain that it was easier for them to speak English than German, we always were served quickly and never left tips.

The animation team was excellent and hard working, the dance lessons around the site should not be missed, suitable for all ages, well, most of them, big kisses to wacko and his friend, who's name escapes me now!

Our room was not big but it was quality and very clean, we booked a standard room and asked for it to be on the ground floor, and it was, in block 3000, we had a private terrace and a view over the river which runs through the hotel giving it a unique appeal.

If you like company most Germans speak English, just go round saying hello and y will meet the nicest folk, yes mainly German but losts of Dutch too and the odd English person.

I will also say that we were never bothered by anyone trying to sell anything, even on the lovely beach.
