Dear all,

Can anyone tell me if this trip is still running dispite the potential curfew out of the resorts and the current unrest?

We were collected from hotel and 12.45 by our guide in the jeep and went to Safari Oasis where we waited for others travellers to join us, waited around for quite a while. we then went to our jeeps and started on our adventure, we had a great guide who flew us through 16miles of Eastern Desert at an extreme rate of knots, the kids loved it, it was very bouncy in the back, i was ok as i was up front with the driver and seatbelt. we arrived at The Bedouin Village (we were advised to take sweets/candy for the children but they were also very excited by apples and fruit) Our guide gave a talk on life as a Bedouin while we drank tea after the talk we gave the children their sweets/candy/fruit then we mounted our camels and were led by the children. We were shown bread making and also items that they they made in the camp, available for sale. We then went to see a well then wound our way back again at very high speed but with singing and dancing all the way back. Arrived back at Safari Oasis, ate a buffet dinner, then some star gazing, we were shown Venus and Saturn. Good all round trip

We were collected from out hotel about 1.30pm and then went to Safari Oasis. We were given a talk about what and where we would be going. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable. A gentleman put our scarves around our heads and said to keep putting water over your head to keep cool.

We then got into 4 x 4 jeeps and headed to the desert. We had air conditioning in the jeep and only 8 of us so it wasn’t too squashed. We headed to a Bedouin village and on the way we had a good off road experience. Our son loved it. A couple of times we stopped to take photos.

Once we got to the Bedouin village (extremely hot take plenty of water) we were greeted with Tea and if you need the toilet take some toilet roll with you. Please take a selection of sweets. We saw the children and handed out sweets to them which they seemed to enjoy. Then a few children brought the camels over where you could go on a short ride. The cost of the camel ride was a donation to the child. In the village was a couple areas set up for you to look at, man making bags, ladies making bread, and a stall to buy certain things.

On the way back we saw the sunset over the desert which was stunning. On reaching Safari Oasis we all went to the area reserved for us. There is a bar where you can purchase various drink. Dinner was a buffet consisting of bread, salad, pasta/sauce, rice and chicken with melon for pudding. The food was very tasty. After dinner there was some Egyptian dancing which was really good. We then looked through the telescopes as various planets. This was amazing and we will remember looking at a perfect Saturn.

We only did this trip due to not being able to do Luxor. But we had a fantastic time and would recommend to everyone. Families will enjoy this trip.
