We paid approx £25, booked through the rep at our hotel. The company was called Blue Sky/ Bright Sky and the trip Oasis Desert Adventure. We were picked up in a Toyota Land cruiser at about 2 and driven to the 'station'. The guide spoke very good English and also German. The driver was crazy but this was all part of the trip ( He drove at about 70mph through the desert with a camera man on the roof). We stooped about 10 k into the desert to look at a mirage and then continued for another 30k to a so-called Bedouin camp, I do not think it was genuine however it did give an overview of the desert dwellers life and there was a camel ride included in the price. Bring plenty of water and sunblock as this is HOT (there was a little rain here about 18 months ago and previous to that 15 years). The return journey appeared to be a race between the four landcruisers which became quite scary at times but was entertaining. Back at the 'station' we were fed ( a little disappointing) and entertained with some dancers. We watched the sun set beyond the mountains (spectacular) and then stargazed through two large telescopes (highlights saturn and the moon) before returning to the hotel around 8.30. Overall very entertaining and interesting and very good value for money.

Picked up at 2.30, dropped off at 9pm.

80kph Toyota Landcruiser drive for about 1 hour, exhilerating fun, driver mad as a box of frogs, but funny with it.

'Bedouin' camp is a bit fake, and the tour of it in the full sun is no joke, perhaps they think they need to earn their fee, but i would have preferred 1 hour later pickup and ignore this part!

The Stars after dark are AMAZING, and the two telescopes give you some fantastic sights, like the rings around Saturn.

So the good parts are;

Jeep part over the sands
Stars after dark

Bad parts;
tour of camp
the food

the reason that i hated this place was the heat and dryness of it my daughter was 11 when we went and she nearly collapsed and all they did was put her on my shoulders to carry her and as everyone had run out of water they tried to charge a ridiculous amount for us to buy it NEVER AGAIN
