El Halaka isn't a fancy place, so don't expect great ambiance. It's a standard Egyptian seafood restaurant, no tablecloths or pretty place settings. It's a place to eat and a great one at that.
The seafood is fresh on display with a number of cooking options to choose from. The prices are very reasonable and the food is incredible. Try the fried shrimp (ask for it to be peeled beforehand). And you should definitely get the soup! Even if you don't usually eat chowder, this one will get you hooked.
You can pick out your seafood from the display, it's being weighed in front of you and you decide how you want it cooked. If you don't feel like taking a whole fish, they offer a number of dishes and sets in the menu.
The menu is multilingual, though not very well translated, but that's pretty common in Egypt.
All in all, a must-visit if you want a taste of really good Egyptian seafood.
