We booked a week in the SIVA Grand Beach from London via 'Your Holidays' (Robby)( after recommendation from Darcy) at a price of £571 for 2 persons incl 2 suitcases up to 20kg and 2 cabin bags with Thomas Cook Airways, who were excellent. Price is excluding Gatwick parking which cost us £104 and would have been only £55 if booked thru Your Holidays (please tell your clients this important fact!) We liked the Red Sea service, they met us at Hurghada airport, ( transfers included ) and we overslept the following morning, the Red Sea rep left a letter under the door of our bungalow room with his daily schedule so we could meet him. The bungalow room was large with 2 balconies. The beds were comfortable, changed regularly and room cleaned daily. Please tip the porter £2. Bathroom a bit tired, shower wonky but plenty hot water in the mornings. A bottle of water is provided every day by the cleaning staff, who are all male. The TV was a bit poorly connected but we didn't come here for telly. The Red Sea reps and the reception were english speaking and helpful. Also 2 young german women, the only female employees we saw, provide a "customer relations" service ( in english and german). They were polite and helpful, as they understand our western mentality. We were "All inclusive" guests. Anywhere we go, the bar staff approach us to see if we want drinks (they can see our yellow wrist bands) Make sure that any drinks you order are included (most are). Most of the guests are elderly german couples. A few Brits and the odd russian and egyptian made up the total. Mid december is the low season, so the hotel is only about 50% full. But it means better service and less queueing for us!! Bring sun cream of min. factor 10 as the sun will burn white skin. The pool and sea are cool but once in the water, we enjoyed the swimming. The sea near the hotel is too shallow for sharks. So you are safe!! SIVA has its own private beach. The bar staff make a big effort to be helpful and top up your drinks in the lobby area. Also, the head waiter and the supervisors ask incessantly "everything OK???" Even the bar manager walks around the seating area and meets clients. Only local wine and spirits are "all-inclusive. No bikinis in the lobby, please. Branded drinks are extra. The food was impressive. Each meal had a main meat and a fish dish. Also, pasta and speciality food (chinese, indian, Syrian) were provided in smaller quantities. A roast fish or joint is always featured. and the salads! Amazing choice of vegetables. At breakfast, the chef will cook an omelette in front of you, with chunks of peppers, cheese, onions. A bread stand is always filled with varieties of bread. Fruit selection is limited, mainly dates and apples. We liked the fish dishes, (though they never told us which type of fish). Hamburgers and hot dogs are served from a stand near the pool for all-inclusive guests. No food to be taken to your room. Room meal service is extra (see the price list) Tips are welcomed. £2 or 20 Egyptian pounds is about right for a tip

The SIVA neighbourhood is rather run-down, as the world economic crisis has hit Egypt hard. Local traders harrassed us all the time outside. SIVA hotel provides a free shuttle bus to Sikkala for shopping. Watch out for pestering traders. Haggle!! Negotiate!! Women must cover up in the streets. No cleavage. Wear dark long dresses, please. Men, a shirt and trousers or shorts. Do not go out alone. The hotel is guarded by a team of blue uniformed security staff, and armed "tourist police" patrol the streets. No signs of unrest. All was calm.

We went on a mini excursion in a clapped out glass bottom boat and saw amazing fish and swam in the warm sea water near an island. The elderly 40HP 2-stroke outboard was probably made before the retired German tourists were born!! Masks snorkels and flippers + water and Cola were included in the price of EGY£180 (£17) pp. Some boat trips cost as much as 100 Euros. SIVA evening entertainment is in the lobby, you may drink as much as you like, just ask the waiter. A (out of tune) singer with karaoke music about 3 nights a week. Belly dancing is offered, a bit tame, but good entertainment, The Whirling Dervishes, 2 young men rotating at high speed, were popular with the German tourists.

We went as a couple, during the low season, mid december. The price of the 1-week holiday was below £300 each, with transfers and luggage, flying Thomas Cook (recommended) all-inclusive, excluding Gatwick car parking, which cost us £104 because we didn't know you have to book via the internet. A waste of £50. Please Robby at 'Your holidays' tell clients about this. We think that the holiday was good value. We booked only the day before the departure, so congratulations to 'Your Holidays' & Red Sea and Thomas Cook airways, the organisation was so professional. Our first trip to Egypt. Not our last. Peter Kunzler, from Hampton, TW12 2EW.

Room Tip: Bungalow rooms are away from the noise of the main hotel.

We have returned again to this hotel, we were here in May. We can only say that this is a fabulous hotel and the staff here always go the extra mile to provide 100% plus service, espacilay khalid from the terrace bar, he even remembered us, by name, from our last visit, also his manager, impressive! Ahmed, now promoted from the pool bar to upsatairs bar, Whalid from Amar dowstairs resturant also remembered us. The hotel is one we will return to many times as the whole experience is wonderful, wonderful staff, food, suite and weather! We are here now and will be back in the UK for Christmas but the hotel has made this week before Christmas magical with the decorations and wishes of Happy Christmas and all this in a predomanatly Muslim contry makes it all the more memorable. This is a great hotel and we would advise a trip here in the near future, great value too. THANKS AND EVEN MORE thanks to all the staff in the hotel.xx

Room Tip: 5th floor always ask for one and deffinatly ask for a suite.

We stayed in the siva grand beach from 6th dec to 13th dec and I have to say I was disappointed.
The hotel its self is old and looking very tired and the all inclusive package we had was too very disappointing. Anyone planning to visit this hotel expecting a normal all inclusive package should be very wary as there are a lot of hidden extras and items not included.
It was with great sadness that my partner and I witnesses, whilst checking out, an elderly couple from the UK, returning to gatwick, being charged £130.00......sterling for the use of a wheel chair for her disabled husband for a week. This act alone was enough to convince us that we would never return. I am sure that this review will be embarrassing to red Sea holidays and I hope they manage to track down the eldery couple and fully refund them.
The hotel staff are great but sadly trying to make gold out of lead. Andrew, the red Sea rep is amazingly helpful and if you come across Gerges the other rep, you will meet the nicest person with lots of knowledge.
It's never nice to write feedback like this but I feel I have to otherwise things never change.

Room Tip: Get a different hotel
