“Disappointed- we moved to a better hotel!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 4, 2014

We arrived f or a fortnight at Jasmine Village on 14 April, and were really disappointed in our accommodation. As a family of 5, we were given a family room in the main part of the hotel. This was off a long, dark corridor, with a window straight onto the corridor, so, of course, your curtains could never be opened unless you wanted to be a permanent peep show! hence a very dark room. Our adjoining room had a balcony with a 'garden view'- in other words, overlooking the grass at the front of the hotel, and beyond that, the main road!! We immediately asked to move to a brighter, lighter room with a view but were told we couldn't as all the family rooms big enough for us were all off this corridor. To cut out all the details, at our welcome meeting with our rep the next day, we said we weren't happy to spend a fortnight here, and after persistence and perseverance, and some very expensive premium rate phone calls from a mobile to ONTHEBEACH back in England, we moved into the Aladdin, the sister hotel next door. SOOOOO much better! Beautiful, sea and lake view from our patio, light and airy rooms etc. From then on, our holiday was fab, fantastic animation team, all v friendly, attentive Egyptian staff, excellent variety of food (no salmonella or illness at all due to food or water), beautiful weather, fabulous trips (and if you dig your heels in, you do eventually get them for a really good price!!) The only negative is that these group of 3 hotels attract 99% Russians and Germans which put pay to any socialising due to the language barrier. However, in one sense this worked in our favour as we were one of only 2 English families and so were treated somewhat like celebrities by the staff as I think we were a nice change from the rude arrogance of the Russians!!
Would we go back? Yes we would (not to Jasmine, but to the Aladdin!) but I don't think this will be an option as I think the hotel is being bought out by a Russian holiday firm who are going to completely fill it with Russian holiday makers. Pity the staff!

Room Tip: Apparently the bungalow style accommodation that are separate from the dark, dingy main hotel are mu...

You might as well go camping. This hotel has no decent management and therefore everything is lousy. Food is terrible, cleanliness standards are appalling. Very long distances to be walked from one place to another, golf carts should be made available for people who cannot walk those kind of distances in the heat and sun.
We had food poisoning several times and would not ever stay there again and do not recommend for anyone to do the same mistake.

I couldn't get the flights I wanted, so I purchased flights and accommodation separately. It cost us £230 for the room for 2 people for the week. We had a clean room. Beach was nice and pool was clean. There was so much choice with food and you can go and use the facilities in the sister hotels next door (aladdin and Ali baba). There was even a room where the made fresh pasta, bread, pancakes and pizza in front of you. I was very impressed we had all this for how much we paid.

We stayed for a week at the beginning of March. 2014 The complex is much bigger than we expected and you can use the facilities of the two neighbouring hotels. The hotel provided good value for money; for us, we enjoyed the location, the hotel is close to the airport, our room was very clean, and the warm sunshine was very welcome. We thought that the food was of a good standard and plenty of variety. We felt a liitle pressurised to tip continually to get the best service, and not to be given the opportunity to tip at the end of our stay. We felt that if we had stayed for longer there would have been a lot of different things to do. Don't book trips at your welcome meeting wait until you have been offered alternative prices by Aqua Centre on the beach, you will save at least £30 each. If looking to purchase duty free goods wait until you get to Hurghada departure lounge, very good prices.

Room Tip: Ask for a room further away from the entertainment area

A nice hotel on large terrain with a delightful beach. The rooms (jointed bungalows) are simple but well equiped and good showers. The food is good but not very varying however with a little creativity you can eat every meal something different. Friendly employees willing to help you, also without a tip. Enthusiastic animationteam. A lot of facilities, and guests of Jasmine may also enjoy the meals (on reservation) and facilities of the neighbour hotels Alladin and Ali Baba. One minus: no free wifi (4 eu /hour)

Room Tip: we stayed at the 600-serie, recommended
