We wanted a relaxing and chill out holiday and crystal Bay certainly did that!. from booking in to our last day we were well looked after- welcome drink and luggage was taken straight to our room . No problem with getting a sunbed at anytime..either by the pool or beach, Pool and beach bars opened at 10am and bottled water is provided free in your room. Pool was cleaned everday but a bit chilly...great for cooling off, beach was totally relaxing with plenty of shade from the sun if you need it
Rooms were serviced everyday and kept spotlessly clean. All staff were friendly and polite.
Food was good from the buffet but can recommend booking the meditteranian restaurant which is included in your all inclusive and the seafood restaurant (which you have to pay for
If you wanted to take part in some activities there was plenty to do such as water aerobics, water polo and beach volley ball which were organised by the entertainment team.
The only thing I can think of worth mentioning was the planes flying overhead as we seemed to be on the flight path but you did not really notice them after a while.
All in all I feel you will not be disappointed with your stay at this hotel.

Room Tip: Would recommend first floor rooms with a side or sea view

We have just returned from our third trip to Hurghada. Previous trips were to others hotels.
We can not fault the hotel, it's staff, the food or the cleanliness. Everything was excellent.
We will definitely be going again next year and have also recommended it to friends!
Well done and thank you for a wonderful holiday.

We have just come back from a lovely relaxing 2 week break at the Crystal Bay Resort. Like all hotels it has its good and bad points so I'll deal with the weaknesses first:
Check in was not as efficient as I had been led to believe from other reviews - no welcome drink, no one told us what to do other than wait in the lobby, no one showed us to our room, no hot food available, just snacks in the lobby as the restaurant had closed.
When we found our room it was not what I expected from a deluxe room, and it had 2 single beds. According to reception no other rooms were available until the morning. So not a very good start to the holiday.
Occasional problems occured such as lack of towels or water in rooms. Much better if the management acknowleges there is a problem affecting several rooms, say they are dealing with it and that it may take some time to rectify. Instead they imply it's only your room that's affected and that they'll send someone up in 5 minutes; that only leads to anger and frustration.
The hotel is on the flight path to the airport so expect planes going overhead from morning till night.
Now for the (very) good points:
The staff are all friendly, efficient and polite. If you ask for something they will do it. Thanks to all, too numerous to mention.
Susan the holiday concierge is great. Any problems, see her, she will sort it out. (Dial 3 from your room). Thank you.
The food is excellent, great buffet everyday, barbecues twice a week, themed nights, always plenty of choice. We ate at the a la carte restaurants, again both excellent. We also went to the Asian, Oriental and Italian restaurants at the Mamlouk, good except for the Oriental (which is actually Middle Eastern) - service, food and ambience poor - I don't recommend it.
The 2 outdoor terraces are beautiful, the upper one lovely for a drink in the evening, and the restaurant one is nicer for eating than the dining room which seemed a bit gloomy to me.
The beach bar is great for lunch, with a buffet and snack menu, and a much more informal vibe.
The hotel is situated in lovely, well tended gardens.
If you are a beach lover, as I am, you might possibly be disappointed by the beach. It's a horseshoe of sand, 20 nicely spaced cabanas on 1 side, the rest of the beds crammed in on the other. If you don't want to indulge in the "towel game" you will usually find a bed somewhere or ask Ali the towel man and he will manage to find you a bed. He's a great guy.
The snorkeling is OK but not as good as other parts of the Red Sea. You need to walk over to the Mamlouk next door and go to the end of the pier to find some coral and fish.
Top tips:
Don't bother changing any money before you go to Egypt, the rate is much better in the resort. We used the ATM situated just outside the hotel lobby. Put in £10 and you get 98LE in return.
If you want some good cheap haggle and hassle free shopping go to Cleopatras Bazaar just across the road.
Don't bother with the Senzo Mall, it has very expensive UK designer prices.

We returned yesterday from a 7 day holiday at the Sentido Crystal Bay and have had the best time.

Our outward flight was delayed but upon arrival at the hotel we were sat down whilst the reception staff sorted out all our documents, no standing around waiting. Due to our late arrival the restaurants were closed but snacks had been arranged in the lobby bar for us.

We were shown to our room (211) which was spacious and clean. We had paid extra for a deluxe room with Thomas cook but I am not sure what standard of room we were allocated as other guests that had only paid for a standard room had the same room type as us. That said, our room was more than adequate, we looked over the pool area, had 2 double beds, plasma TV, mini bar, tea and coffee facilities and a lovely bathroom with large walk-in shower. The room had both air con and a celiling fan so you could adjust the temperature to your liking.

The pool area was vast with two enormous pools. One of the best things about this hotel was the fact you did not have to fight for sun loungers in the mornings. We favoured the pool with swim up bar - but were disappointed that this did not open throughout the holiday as this was one of our reasons for chosing this hotel. The best feature of this pool was the fact that you could put your loungers in the pool which was fantastic with 38 degree heat!

The animation team were fantastic. It was a real pleasure to meet Pipo, Negga, Brigitte and Billy (plus Chico who arrived on our last day!). All the team were so friendly and entertained us daily. The team worked such long hours yet were always full of energy. They did not force you to take part in things and took a genuine interest in everyone they spoke to.

Food in the hotel was good and plentiful. A number of reviews talk about it being repetitive but I am not sure what else the hotel could offer. Breakfast offered a selection of cereals, breads, fruit, yogurts, meats and cheeses as well as hot food. There was an omelette station and you could also get fried, poached, scrambled and hard or soft bolied eggs... yet people still say there is no choice??? In the main buffet restaurant there was a pasta station, stir fry station, salad bar, rices, numerous breads, soups, meats, cheeses, fruits, deserts and many more. In the evenings the buffet holds themed nights with speciality dishes. The beach bar served pizzas, burgers, toasties and sandwiches and then there were two a la carte restaurants. We ate in both the mediterranean and the indian restaurant and food in both was excellent. You are also able to use the a la carte restaurants in the two sunrise hotels next door but unfortunately we did not get the time to try them.

Good selection of drinks available and the staff are accomodating should you wish to create your own cocktails. Service could be a little slow sometimes with drinks but we were always looked after by Mohammed Sabry in the terrace bar. He always seemed to be working so hard and always had a smile for everyone.

A big thank you also to Susan in guest relations. Susan took a genuine interest in guests and would go out of her way to make sure that you were ok. When I told her about my knee problems she would regularly check if i needed anything and if i was ok.

We also made use of the spa where we had the cleopatra package. both my partner and I had previously sustained some injuries prior to the holiday and they made sure that the treatments that we had would not cause us any discomfort in any way. The spa itself is very nice and the whole treatment was very enjoyable. My only issue n the spa was the floor was extremely slippy and disposable slippers would have been a bonus.

Entertainment in the hotel was varied. Every night there was a show in the ampitheatre, some of these we enjoyed more than others but appreciate they have to cater for all nationalities. Also there was a singer every night on the terrace. A couple of the singers were good but on the whole I think the majority were tone deaf. Sitting on the terrace was lovely but I would have preferred just to listen to some background music as the quality of the singers was poor.

We welcomed the fact that the bar service was 24 hours and also that it had a nightclub and a sports bar. Many hotels stop the all inclusive package at 11, here there were no restrictions and so you did not have to worry about paying for drinks after a certain time.

The hotel itself was very well maintained and the public areas are very nice. The hotel was not overcrowded and this made the holiday very relaxing. We went to the two adjacent sunrise hotels to have a look and these were so much busier and we were happy that ours was not like this.

We met some fantastic travellers during our stay also - Marielle, Jeffrey, Nigel, Leoni, Jason and Emma - Thank you for late nights, Mcdonalds and sunburn cream!

We had a truly relaxing holiday and would not hesitate to recommend the hotel to anyone. We would love to come back to the Crystal Bay and hope that we can visit again soon!
