We booked with adel @ dawson&sanderson /hexham she was very helpful booked visas & airport parking
From leaving Newcastle to return our expectations were surpassed
This hotel has something for everyone we would go again so thanks to adel /Newcastle airport staff / hunghada airport and staff @ sunrise resort & Thomas cook

Returned to this hotel after a 2 year break. Found it to be just as great as we remembered. All staff were so friendly, and all very helpful if you had any problems. Animation team were, as usual just perfection. They strolled the beach every morning and chatted to all, regardless of your nationality. Food was great and always a good choice on offer. Entertainment in the evening was just as good as I remembered. I can only recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a nice relaxing holiday or there are plenty energetic activities if you are that way inclined. I must thank all staff from Manager to the groundsmen, you are doing a super job. Keep up the good work you all do. Thanks again and it will not be another 2 years before we return.

I enjoyed my stay at the hotel very much♥ l enjoy the beach bar also, the sea was very good too. I will come back to Hurgada to Sunrise ♥✋️♥

Just returned from two weeks at this hotel & i'm afraid it doesn't deserve 5 star rating

Positives
Beautiful lagoon which has been built within the sea bed making it a unique attraction
Wonderful staff who make this hotel but the two that stood out for me were Ahmed in the Grand Cafe Bar-what a gentleman
Mohammed on the beach works tirelessly . Both always happy,smiling & engage very well with the guests
Huge array of pastries at breakfast

Negatives
No parasols around the pool ,
Pool freezing despite temperatures being over 30 degrees.
Pool tiles cracked
Pool water not the cleanest I have seen
Plastic tables & chairs to watch the evening entertainment, also only allowed to serve drinks in plastic cups
Only seen the pool being cleaned in the last 3 days of holiday which makes me think it's because of the TA reviews or because the inspectors from Sunrise Holidays were due to arrive the following day
No dress code whatsoever in the main restaurant at dinner
Men were allowed in wearing shorts, vests, swim shorts & baseball caps . They were never challenged despite 1 manager being on each entrance to the restaurant. It appears- anything goes
The biggest issue for me was the food
Chef at BBQ seen handling raw chicken with gloved hands, placing on BBQ to cook & then transferring it to the tin where the raw chicken came from with the same gloved hands. This is a real NO NO
Tables in restaurant never cleaned properly after use. Waiter seen flicking crumbs & food debris off the table onto floor with a used napkin
Cleaner the coming round whilst you were dining & sweeping up the mess from the floor
Tables cloths never changed between each usage
Waiters carrying large trays of plates & cutlery up & down the aisles-an accident waiting to happen
Food quality & choice very poor. It just didn't look appealing
Boned chicken every day & sometimes lunch & dinner
Never a huge selection of fresh vegetables
Only usually one live cooking station which was pasta

Yes as a lot of people have stated the hotel & rooms are dated but we didn't have any real issues with our room. The shower leaked on a couple of occasions but a quick call to reception & the problem was sorted promptly
Small balcony with beautiful view.
Room cleaned very well on a daily basis. My husband popped back to the room mid morning to get something & the cleaner had both beds pulled out in order to clean behind them. Impressive

I based my choice of hotel as it was Adults Only, reputable Tour Operator (Thomas Cook) & also on the wonderful TA reviews which now when I look back most reviewers have never reviewed any other holiday, animation team & names of team members appear to pop up regularly & this makes me very suspicious as I did hear from other guests that some member of the Animation Team are asking guests to write a review whilst in resort & they are actually sitting with you & prompting you to add name names. I didn't witness this myself but I fail to see how such reviews can be so different
I believe the hotel realise there is an issue with the food why else would the Head Chef be so accommodating in cooking individual meals for guests as he did for & several others
There are 384 rooms in the hotel & at full capacity there could be nearly 700 guests, if 10% asked for a special meal to be prepared for them he wouldn't have time for anything else

It's a shame I have to write such a scathing review but I'm being honest. This hotel has such potential but will require a lot of time, effort & money invested to bring it up to 5 star status
In the short term the restaurant issue could easily be resolved with better quality & choice of food & staff training is a must

We have just returned from 2 weeks at the sunrise holiday resort after having what can only be said as a superb holiday, great staff in a great hotel.

I booked this with friends and although I had read some bad reports on trip advisor, my husband and I went with an open mind.

On arrival we were introduced to reception and guest relations manager Mohammed who could not do enough for us during the holiday, always took time to speak and our fridge broke which was repaired in less than an hour.

The hotel itself is beautiful and although they are renovating the rooms and looking to do the pool area this doesn't detract anything from your stay. Please bear in mind that rome wasnt built in a day therefore neither will the renovation.

The food had a huge selection to choose from daily including meats cheese fish chips pastry and salad. If you can't find anything you like then ask to speak to the chef he will cook you something to your taste.

All of the staff are really helpful but especially Ahmed from the small pool bar, Mohammed from the lobby bar, Mohammed customer relation manager, Mohammed the room cleaner, chef hisham, emad waiter at the restaurant.

The pool and lagoon are fantastic and kept well with a beautiful view from our room

I have attached some pictures for you to see.
Whilst there we have also met some lovely people who we will see again on our return holiday
I cannot thank the staff and the hotel enough for such a wonderful holiday. We will see you again soon
