we didn't have the newest room but it was clean and spacious. All staff is extremely helpful, friendly and nice. In the restaurants, on the beach, the outside bars, cleaning staff, gardening etc etc.
Lots of choice in food but not great quality we thought (we might be spoiled as we are Belgian)
Animation team was great and fun especially Mido!!
We enjoyed our spa treatment - the massage was excellent!!!!

Room Tip: The rooms with sea view have the nicest terraces

I was surprised when we got here, as the hotel has rave reviews I was expecting it to fantastic but unfortunately it wasn't. It is rated as a 5 star resort but in our view it's more of a 3 star plus.

First the good points- clean, friendly staff, lovely beach and lagoon. Food was decent, not the best I've had but well cooked. Fairly near to some shops and a nice bar serving proper alcohol and lovely food.

The not so good points! The drinks are truly appalling, no real fruit juice, tiny glasses of beer and when I asked for a Pina Colada I got a warm milkshake with no alcohol at all. The rooms need updating as tired looking. Loads of reviews say how good the entertainment team are but I have to totally disagree. The young German girl was a sweetie but the rest were a bunch of annoying idiots with as much talent as my cat! As we were leaving they came to say goodbye and asked me to put a good review in for them, sorry mate but you were s***e so not happening!

We had a good holiday overall but won't be returning to Hurghada again, the sooner the flights to Sharm start the better!

First time to Sunrise resort, definitely won't be our last.Hotel doesn't look much from the road, but reception very clean and bright. Room was a good size, small balcony just enough room for two to sit out, a great sea view though. Gharib our room cleaner was brilliant, kept the room spotless, tea,coffee, water topped up daily and a different towel art every day.
Food was ok , probably would have been bored after two weeks but always something to eat and plenty of it. The Sunday roast was fab , Yorkshire puddings unbelievable size.Pizza ,pasta ,chips, koftas for lunch at the beach bar.
The beach lagoon was perfect for swimming, a gentle slope to get in and the sea a lovely temperature.Great for snorkeling inside and outside the the lagoon . Under the bridge so many fish and great corals, we even managed to see the turtle 3 times.We never used the pool . No need to rise early as never found a problem in getting a sunbed.Use the red flag and the sales guys leave you alone.
Nice entertainment team, came and spoke each day to inform of the days program
Congrats Mido on your first week with the team.

Now for the people who made our holiday THE STAFF.
Samy at the beach bar, always smiling pulling a cold one.
Ali at the Grande Cafe bar. Always tidying up and topping up .
A massive big shout out to Sherif and Ahmed in the lobby bar. These two were amazing, they looked after us so well remembering our drink orders after just one visit to the lobby bar. Thank you so much .

Yes some parts of the hotel are a little tired and need a bit of TLC but the price , weather and staff easily make up for this. It would not stop us from returning , Thank you all at Sunrise . Pete and Sara

wow weve just ad an amazin holiday. hotel is bit dated but clean. staff so friendly. ar our welum meetin the managers of every dept introduced themselves 2 us all which i thought was nice. every morn the customer relation ladies came round with staff members who ad drinks r pieces of fruit & asked if there were any problems with yr room. if there was it would b sorted as soon as. there wasnt 1 member of staff i cud moan about. recieved gr8 service from them all. the sunday din was ace esp the yorks pud. well dun 2 the chef who was bang on bout how good they were. as for the horrendous day of storms we ad the hotel& staff coped brilliant.halloween night was ace. the animation team costumes were fantastic. the lagoon is wonderful 2 swim in & the beach area is clean round it. the mozzies r a pain & quite a lot of people were gettin bit includin us. we did buy that "off" but didnt seem 2 do much good but all part of egypt. wud i cum bck? oh yeah. defo nxt yr. on leavin the management& animation team all stayed in the foyer 2 say goodbuy which was a nice touch. so sunrise team " thank u for a brill relaxin hol& cu nxt year".

Been to the Sunrise twice before, last time 8 years ago. 12 visits to Egypt, Red Sea and Sharm. I will get to the point. Great worry free holiday.......anyone can find something to moan about.......i wont because every single member of the staff, from top tier management and throughout made this holiday enjoyable. I never once seen any request be met by negativity. The area is struggling due to the troubles, but i felt safer there than i do at home. I am not going to thank any individual member of staff as they were ALL fantastic......well done management team as your appearance around the hotel was great and you were always readily available. We gravitated over to the outer cove as we knew that that area gets the sun at this time of year longest. In all the time i have been in Egypt i have never seen rain.....one afternoon i think we got 12 years in an afternoon, hotel did struggle, but hats off to them as everyone of the staff turned it round. I recommend you go and just chill as its a really great place to do it.
Nothing to do with hotel but i am getting really browned off at these places putting this tax levy on in the airport on entry....now £25 each....no receipt and it just goes on the desk,,......simply a money making ploy.....only county that doesn't collect like this is here. Have the right money as no change given.

Room Tip: Sun bathing is best on cove. Take time to snorkel and look at the coral on the framework of cove.
