We where collected from our complex and driven to the local marina, boarded boat , boat trip takes about an hour to the island. You are then transported to the island via a small motor boat.
On arrival you are informed of the fish you may see if you want to snorkel, these are provided for your use , if you prefer to snorkel further out to sea, the boat will take you out for approx an hour and return for lunch and a drink this is all included in the price. There is a bar if you want more drinks and snacks. The guide will answer any questions you may have about fish ,diving and you are provided with a chart to help recognise the fish . The water is full of fish around the reefs and is great to see. There is also diving platforms close to the beach for your use. The island is beautiful well worth a trip. This is virtually a all day trip arriving back just before dark. Costs approx £45 per person , but well worth the money , if we had been there for longer would of d

We went on a combined snorkel and island visit with Blue Waves. The boat trip was great, It was the first time I`d snorkeled and and I felt the guys on the boat really looked after everyone. We had our first snorkel stop then went to Mahmaya island. It`s a big island of sand and as you approach it does look like a paradise. However, myself and the other people on our trip were very disappointed to see quite a lot of litter strewn across the beach. There was also a dirty nappy and a sanitary towel. It wasn`t a case of them having been left by an inconsiderate person earlier in the day, they looked like they`d been there a while. We were to spend an hour there before returning to the boat for lunch and two more snorkel stops. I found the hour long enough. If we`d needed the toilet we would have had to by something from the restaurant to be able to use the loo. You could also buy water . We were not allowed to use the sun parasols as they were only for trips run by travel agents. I`m glad we went with Blue waves and not Thomas Cook. The Thomas Cook trip was a day trip to the island, with lunch included in the restaurant and free use of the loo! And also use of the parasols! They took you out on a separate boat to snorkel if you wanted to. It was also £40 per person more expensive. I was glad I`d seen the island but an hour was enough. The snorkeling experience with Blue Waves was brilliant, and people who`d snorkeled many times before said how good it was.The lunch on the boat was really good too. Clean loos and free water and coke all day. So if you`re thinking of going I`d recommend going with Blue Waves. The only reason you might like to spend a day there is if you are at an hotel that doesn`t have a beach. The Palm Royale had such a fantastic beach that you didn`t need to spend the day on the one at Mahmaya.

Gr8 boat ride, desolute white sand isle, blue water's, pontoon off the beach, seperate snorkelling is must ( no charge ).. they whisk you off on the boat again, that alone was good, take you 2 a 10 metre depth in the middle of nowhere, BRILLIANT... a perfect day, snack bar also there, lunch etc ( rice, salad etc ).. really nice and plenty for all.. really gutted to leave back to the mainland... fantastic sunset on way back so have your camera's @ the ready... absolutley wonderful day, totally recommend it 100%.

Hey guys beautifull island well worth the trip!!!unfortunutely the day we decided to go the weather was a little hit and miss,if you love to snorkel go out a cpl of hundred yards and i promise you will see some stunning marine life!!!!very clean and the food was really good and very tasty, the guides have some inside knowledge so dont be frightened to ask them, after all its their island and they really really will show a great interest in telling you in depth about it and its ancient finds!!!!i would say if the weather is hot i could not think off a better place to be.
