We have two boys under 5 and had a great time at Jungle.
We normally do slightly smaller hotels than this one, so were a little nervous that it would be overwhelming. But it is spread out enough to find your own bit of peace and quiet when needed, whilst still having the madness of the aqua park close enough at hand.
The staff are friendly and polite, without being over familiar, and always happy to help. We were also impressed to see the painting team out regularly, touching up bits here and there (whilst never getting in the way); it just meant the place felt cared for.
With so many restaurants (and pools) to choose from, it took us a couple of days to find the ones that suited us best. But all part of the fun exploring. In the end we found the Mediterranean and Tagine restaurants provided the best options for our family: familiar, but with enough local delicacies to make it feel like we were in Egypt. (I'm not interested in eating Chinese in Egypt...)
We only ventured into the kids mini disco once - it was too loud and all seemed very focused on the Russian contingent for our boys' liking. But everyone else looked like they were having a good time... just not for us.
The pools though, especially the water park and the heated main pool, were a total hit. There is so much variety that the boys (and us) never got bored.
The beach was not great: nice to go to for a bit of a change, but the sand is not ideal for digging and building castles and there's not much else to do. A walk along the pier was well worth it, though, as lots of great looking fish could be seen.
Hurghada airport is significantly better than the one in Sharm - there's a mini souk as well as decent coffee bars and other amenities. We had made sandwiches after lunch to have before we boarded, it saved a bit of cash, but we need not have as there was plenty of choice should you be less inclined - better than the stock, over priced, fare on the Thompson flight, though. The transfer is only 20mins. This meant that we did have jets flying over every couple of hours, but not to the point of distraction. We did get treated to the Egyptian Air Force flying over in their latest fighters once or twice, which was rather cool.
Overall, I would thoroughly recommend this hotel for families looking to unwind and have some fun in a safe environment. Food is good and array of fun things to do will keep you all entertained.
