We stayed here for ten days at the end of January. We had booked for Alf Leila Wa Leila, but on arrival were upgraded to the jungle. Our room was stunning two room one with a super king size bed and the other with two singles, a huge walk in shower and it was kept spotless for our whole stay. The food was excellent and plentiful, The complex was spotless and was continually being cleaned. The staff were helpful and cheerful, the aqua park was great fun no queues and well staffed. We could not find one thing to fault about the jungle and are going to return the same time next year.

Wonderful place and amazing people!
Best animation and animators ever.
Pleasant family atmosphere in the air.
Great service and always clean (room, restaurants, pools).
A little bit far to the beach, but it's so many interest in the hotel that you don't need to go anywhere.
Good base for trips and travel.
Tasty food.
Slides didn't make impression on me.

I was so excited after booking this hotel and reading the reviews but was very disappointed when we arrived, we transferred to another hotel after the 3rd night due to the food, service and staff. The room was lovely but it was a good 35 min walk from the main plan. The slides were great for the kiddies but some only opened on certain days. I wont be going back...

My wife, our two sons (8 and 6) and I have literally just returned from a week at the 'Jungle Aqua Park' in Hurghada (11 - 18 Feb 2012); having been home for less than 12 hours I feel compelled to write this review and ensure you get an accurate steer when considering where to spend your hard earned cash in Egypt. I will start at the beginning:

Arrival in Egypt. This was the only negative experience of the holiday; the airport is badly run, chaotic and grubby. Queues are common place and it seems as though every man and his dog wants to check your passport. Take a deep breath, accept the fact that nobody queues like the British (with decorum) and look forward to the important bits of the holiday.

Transfer. Largely trouble free, the bus was easy to find with representatives from all the travel companies present and helpful. Carry your own luggage to the bus, there will be plenty of offers to carry it for you which is fine provided you are prepared to tip. That said, this was the only time we were approached for tips, in the resort this practice is ‘simply not cricket’. The journey was approximately 20 minutes and the coach was comfortable.

Arrival. There are staff a plenty at reception and the process of getting you from the bus to your room is slick, well-rehearsed and labour free. We waited about 15 minutes (coffee bar available)before we were issued with our ‘all inclusive wrist bands’ and shown to our room (you would never find it unaided) our baggage followed minutes later.

Rooms. The rooms are excellent, my wife felt ours was showing signs of age but I felt it was amongst the best we have stayed in. It was immaculately clean from the outset and this standard was maintained by our first-rate cleaner. Every room at the hotel backs onto a swimming pool which is a brilliant feature (note that these pools are not heated); even if you do not swim it means you can literally walk two paces out of your patio doors and lay on your own sunbeds, it also makes for a pleasant vista of an evening when enjoying a glass of vino once the kids are in bed. Ask for an extra pillow!

Communal areas. Every square inch of this vast estate is immaculate, there is an army of staff employed at the facility and they undertake their duties with diligence and enthusiasm; no pathway, bin or grassed area goes untouched.

Restaurants. There were five of the usual six restaurants available when we were at the park (one was being refurbished) We tried them all and along with the kids rated them out of 40 according to how tasty the food was, you can take it as a given that the service was first class in all five:

1. Moroccan (Tagin) - 30
2. German (Kaiser) - 30
3. Asian Plant - 26
4. Mediterranean - 26
5. Viking Restaurant - 29

The food was of a good standard across the board especially given that they are catering for the masses. The menus were suitably varied and the local wine was plentiful and palatable. The only slight negative was queuing for the freshly cooked fare (omelettes, pizzas, eggs, pancakes, flat bread) this was made worse by the Russian’s penchant for greed, not a massive problem, just be robust and stand your ground.

Aqua Park. The Aqua Park is an awesome facility; there are dozens of slides available for all ages and all levels of bravery. It is worth noting that the big slides (the ones you see in all the photographs) are only available to children over the age of 10; however, this is not rigorously policed, my son is 8 and used them all without as problem; essentially it is down to size. My younger son was too small but had a great time in the children’s pool on the smaller slides. There is a facility for lunch at the Aqua Park although queues are at their worst here, we walked back to the main complex (2 minutes’ walk) and took lunch there. There is also a bar which serves all drinks (alcoholic or otherwise). You can easily spend the day here, and you will have a lot of fun.

Other pools. Outside of the Aqua Park most people tended to use the main heated pool which sits centrally outside the restaurants. There is plenty to do here with the Entertainment team organising water polo, water volleyball, darts, morning stretching and aqua aerobics to name but a few. Sunbeds were easy to come by and you are well placed for all the amenities.

There is an additional children’s pool in the main complex which is excellent and provides plenty of entertainment for the little ones.

You will be approached by sales people regardless of where you choose to take your leisure time; they are usually selling one of the following:

1. Massages etc. in the Spa (this is a good facility, I had a haircut and shave in there)
2. Diving trips (cannot comment – didn’t go)
3. Quad bike safaris (cannot comment – didn’t go)

The good news is that you only need to say ‘no’ once and they will leave you alone.

Entertainment. Egypt has a reputation for failing to embrace evening entertainment; I am delighted to say that this is not that case at the Jungle Aqua Park. The Entertainment team are enthusiastic, polite, all inclusive and approachable; they represent a multitude of nations including (but not limited to) England, Egypt, Tunisia, France, Poland and Sweden and they are all bilingual. They work extremely hard throughout the day keeping the atmosphere fun and lively and at the transition to the evening’s entertainment the daily ‘mini disco’. Once that is complete there is always a show we saw the following:

1. Magic Show
2. Oriental Show
3. Africa Show
4. Acrobatic Show

The shows are of a reasonable standard and you can get a drink in the auditorium. After the show you can join the entertainment team and party hard at the ‘Havana Club’ if you are so inclined.

Nino is worthy of special mention, always happy to go the extra mile with a natural flair for this kind of work.

Summary. We had a great time here; we have visited Egypt before (Sunrise Garden Beach Hotel) and were left lukewarm, following a week at the Jungle Aqua Park we are positively glowing. They clearly understand what the average European wants from a holiday and they provide it in spades here, whether you are after an action packed family holiday or a tranquil stay at a clean, well-positioned hotel this is the place for you, we will be going back and that has to be the ultimate accolade.
