Just returned from a week at the lovely Old Palace. A really clean hotel on a bay of sand and sparkling clear water. Our room was 1202 which was on the 1st floor and overlooked the back of the hotel and had a partial sea view. The room was plenty big enough and was really clean. Free safe and a fridge. The twin beds were really hard however - really hard! There were always plenty of sunbeds both by the pool and on the beach, where we spent most of our time. Mohammed the guy who helped with sunbeds was really helpful - "lovely jubbly!!"
There's a beach bar a swim up bar, a shisha bar which opens in the evening and a 24hr lobby bar. All the staff were fantastic, especially the night Manager, also called Mohammed who worked 11pm-11am. Food is OK. As a vegan there was very very little choice so I ended up eating bread and pasta every day. I took my own 'butter' as there was no dairy alternative. The clientele are mostly Russian and German. Not many Brits so I guess they cater more for them which is fine. The man who cleaned our room became a bit of a nuisance, knocking the door when the 'do not disturb' sign was on and asking us to change coins into notes all the time - trouble is, he never had the right amount of coins for the notes so was always gaining a couple of pounds. When we were packing to leave he knocked the door 3 times in about 15 minutes obviously angling for another tip, then followed us around to the elevator and asked us to change notes again. He also took our Do not disturb sign away so we couldn't use it. We felt pressured to be up and out every day even though we were out by 8am. The spa staff are very persistent on the beach. We were always polite and declined their services but it became a bit annoying over the week as they would ask you several times a day.
I had and still have a really upset stomach despite always washing my hands and using hand gel.
The weather all week was amazing - 35 degrees all week but with a constant warm breeze so it didn't feel oppressive. I'd definitely come to this hotel again but it would be nice to have alternatives on the menu.

Recently returned home from our 5th and our daughter's 7th visit to this wonderful hotel. Our flight had been delayed by 2hours so it was very late when we arrived. Check in was smooth and we were pleased that we had been allocated the rooms we had requested by email. We weren't offered a welcome drink even though the lobby bar was still open and we were the only guests arriving. This was the same for our last arrival in April, which was the only disappointing moment, albeit not a major one, but first impressions mean alot. The first morning we were greeted like friends by so many of the staff who recognised us again. They couldn't do enough to please us,especially Hamed (pool) and later Mahmoud when he returned from holiday. Staff in the restaurant were magnificent, especially Ahmed Mahmoud who always found a table for us, even though it was extremely busy at times, Mamhoud ( who we always referred to as smiler!), Hanly who made me belila every day ( like our porridge - I love it!) and the star for us Basaam. As usual his vegetarian food was so tasty and fresh. All these attentions from such wonderful staff made this holiday very special again. Must mention Kapatchy. What a friendly talented young man. An absolute born leader who leads his team by example and he makes sure they are working as they should to include all guests. Julie looking to book for November and then with us for April. We just hope we can get reasonable prices due to the sad demise of Thomas Cooke. Let's hopeGloria, Trevor and Julie Jones ( rooms 1339 and 1343)

Hotel was lovely, but make sure you book a sea view. Lovely beach bar and also a pool bar. Very relaxed and took some amazing under water photos of all the sea life. Snorkel and goggles are a must pack! Food was good quality and ok but not amazing choice. Staff were very helpful and attentive, taking you to the sunbeds and laying out your towel! Would return here again.

Lovely hotel in great location, right on the beach front with large pool and attentive staff. Food is average for Egypt but good quality, lots of selection but not to everyone's taste
Rooms are spacious and well maintained but sea or pool view recommended.

Only negative was they removed all inclusive band on checkout from room at 11am even though we arrived late and were not leaving until early afternoon, it took a short discussion with manager to have it reinstated
