returned to this hotel for the second time this year. still excellent, staff friendly, food excellent and the weather fantastic. what more could you wish for. i would thoroughly recommend this hotel to adults but there is very little to keep young children happy.
Great hotel with an amazing view of the red sea. The staff is very friendly. The layout of the hotel is very unique over a down slope of a hill overlooking the red sea, gives every room in the hotel an excellent view. Food is excellent, with variety of options and there is always a local cuisine corner on dinner. The hotel is very quite and peaceful, the lighting at night sheds a peaceful atmosphere over the hole bay area where you can truly relax. Great facilities; gym, pool, kids corner...etc.
This is an expensive hotel, but you get what you pay for.
My wife and I have just returned from our honeymoon in Egypt. For the latter half of our trip we stayed at the the Citadel Azur. The hotel was about half full during our stay and yes it was about 95% Russian guests, with the odd German, Dutch and English couple. However, anyone wanting to travel to the Red Sea don't let the number of Russians put you off. This is an amazing hotel, where you can do as little as you want by one of the 3 pools or 2/3 miles of beach, or participate in one of the many activites that are set up. The food is very good, with a range of resteraunts to chose from. The staff friendly and always helpful, a great stay and we look forward to taking our daughter there in the not so distant future.
Myself and my boyfriend have just come back from the Citadel Azur where we stayed for 10 days. The previous reviews we read were correct - there are not many English guests, and in fact we were told the for our time there, we were the only English! However far from being a negative, the staff treated us impeccably throughout our stay. With the hotel mainly accommodating Russian and German guests, it seemed that being English was something of a novelty for the staff and so our entire experience was made all the more special by the spectacular welcome and consistantly exceptional service we received. The English have a great reputation at the Citadel and the staffs only complaint was that there was not more English visiting - so we urge you to go!
In this hotel there's not 1000's of rooms, but space for 3 beaches, several restaurants, 2 lagoons, multiple pools and a private marina. So in that sense you are always guaranteed a sun lounger at your choice of waterside, a table at dinner, a seat at your favourite bar - it's beyond spacious and with so many staff to look after your every need. Being all inclusive, your drink orders are taken regularly and your 'usuals' quickly memorised.
The constant blue sky, hot temperatures and sheer luxury of the Citadel, meant we really did have the most incredible holiday. Our only negative is that occasionally the Animation team were a little - much. The entertainment at the Ampitheatre is just about bearable, but much more entertaining next to the Marina where you can enjoy a few drinks and a little gentle dance, if that's your style.
We would whole-heartedly recommend visiting Hurghada above Sharm, and staying at the Citadel is an absolute must. We can't wait to return and top up these sun tans.
We stayed here for 1 week. This hotel is very large (but there´s a Taf - Taf bus for whole day from), rooms are also large with a sea view, staff is very friendly and helpful. The hotel is good located with many places to swim, relax. Hotel is only ultra all inclusive, so you can eat and drink as much as you want 24 hour a day. You can also choose from free a la carte restaurants (La Gondola Italian Restaurant, El Gaucho Brasilian Restaurant and Blue Marine Fisch Restaurant - obligatory reservation one day before).
