I have lived in El Gouna for ten years and with my brother visiting for the first time I was anxious he enjoyed his visit. He chose the Sultan Bey for it's convenient location and preferring a smaller more personal hotel. He had a beautiful 1st floor room with views over the pool and lagoon. The rooms are basic with older bathrooms but the vaulted ceiling and arches give the room a cosy feel. I love the decor in the rest of the hotel with Egyptian antiques and style. We had breakfast together every morning which I really enjoyed. Plenty of choice with Bircher muisli, yogurts, fruits, salads, cold meats, freshly cooked eggs, hot choices, pancakes, great selection of bread and pastries. I suggested to the chef a creamy salad dressing and two jugs of different types were brought from the kitchen. The staff were very friendly and helpful and we caught the hotel shuttle boat to Zeytuna Beach. The hotel pool is beautiful and sheltered from the northerly wind. I think there was a problem with the heating as my brother said it was very cool. The gardens with bright and colourful bourgenvillia flowers trailing everywhere are stunning. And the goods news is my brother will come again and choose the Sultan Bey!!! :-) But not until 2016.

Room Tip: Pay extra for the pool and lagoon view. Top floor has vaulted ceilings.

I stayed here for just a couple of nights bed and breakfast. Beautiful and peaceful location and yet close to everything that El Gouna has to offer. Small beach and the most superb little heated pool that I have ever stepped into. Perfect temperature with no need to pause before immersing the Crown Jewels. Breakfast was plentiful and well presented, the outlook from the whole place across the lagoon is so tranquil. The rooms are low rise and spread out into little courtyards filled with flowers. A very relaxing couple of days indeed. The only negative being the rooms are a little dated and tired and require a bit of TLC.

Room Tip: Be aware that there is a private beach club next door and if you get a room facing this in block 4 y...

This is our second time staying at Sultan bey...we went back because we love the location, the heated pool and the beach. Other than that, facilities and entertainment were rather mediocre. No free WiFi which is rather unusual. Food was below average and even the breakfast menu was a huge disappointment. The staff on the other hand were friendly and helpful. It is at the end of the day good value for money ...just don't get your hopes too high!

This hotel is located in the centre of town, within walking distance of many restaurants, a supermarket and shopping. Service is excellent, and very responsive. Each room has a patio or balcony - for me the deck chairs were painfully uncomfortable, so I asked for a table and chairs to be brought up to the balcony, which they did in 10 minutes. That made it perfect - I could sit out there morning or evening, watching the sunrise or the starry sky, with my Ipad or a book. They do charge extra for internet access so bring your own cellular access. Not all of the rooms have been completely renovated yet. They have no electric kettle for that early morning coffee or tea, but you can pay extra to get one. Breakfast was very good, a great selection Egyptian and European foods and of course an omelet bar. The breakfast is in a beautiful setting, shaded from the sun, but with bougainvillea and a view of the lagoon. One morning it was chilly, and they do have indoor seating as well. The hotel offers a 5 minute boat service to a Zaytuna beach. The beach is totally non crowded, and has a long pier so that you can walk out over the shallow water, and from which you can enter the water and swim or snorkel. My long weekend was totally restful and I felt like I was in a little bit of paradise. I checked out some of the more expensive hotels in El Ghouna, but I would stay at the Sultan Bey again, because the location is so good!

El Ghouna is a purpose built resort, it is very well managed and controlled, clean and comfortable. Taxi rate from Hurghada airport is 120 LE and the best thing of all is, for the most part, you don't get hassled. If you prefer not to walk, take a "Tuksi" 5 LE a ride. Be sure to check out the public library if you are interested in Egyptian history - they have an amazing video presentation.

Room Tip: Lagoon view is worth the extra - you can watch the sunrise - ask for one overlooking the pool

This is lovely boutique hotel in downtown el gouna. I love staying there as its very cosy. Not a fan of staying in the Marina as its noisy and crowded. There is a heated pool. The rooms are comfortable and house keeping is excellent. Breakfast was DELICIOUS.. Try the pancakes!
Right next to the club house if u want to paddle board. Also a minute away from restaurants and supermarkets if you need any thing.
Would go again!

This is a postcard perfect resort. El Gouna consists of artificial lagoons and canals. The plus is a quiet calm waterway that is off of the Red Sea. It is a 3 minute boat ride to the beach where you can swim in a calm channel, or in the Red Sea. It is a 5 minute walk to several good restauraunts.
The rooms were nice, but you will get billed fro internet, ice and most services.
They had the top breakfast anywhere and it was free!
