“Lovely stay... twice :)”
Reviewed July 5, 2013

What a delightful little hotel! Little being the operative word here. If you are the type that loves a massive resort with loads of restaurants to choose from, 10 different pools and hundreds of bars this hotel isn't for you. However, if you are looking for a peaceful and relaxing holiday this one is most definitely for you.

The hotel is done in the quaint 'Gouna' style and is beautiful with quirky little passageways and greenery all over the shop, which is kept clean and trimmed. The staff are polite and welcoming and even remembered me from my first trip :). There is one restaurant and the food is amazing, best all inclusive i have ever sampled! The main pool bar uses REAL glasses (i know this really bothers some people) and the booze measures are fabulous *slur*. The pool and pool area is small but i visited this hotel twice, both times whilst the kids were on school holidays, and not once did i have an issue with over crowding. You do have access to Zeytouna beach via a little boat ride (which runs to time every 15 minutes) but i don't recommend the beach. Its all a bit man made and the access to the sea is rubbish. This isn't just for this hotel, due to the fact i live in Hurghada and visit Gouna regularly i know for a fact most beaches in Gouna are the same. So essentially if you are a big beach/sea person its probably not the resort for you! Only other grumble i have for this hotel are the beds aren't very comfortable, well for me as i am a squidgy bed sort of person and the beds were very firm. Rooms were BEAUTIFUL though and nicely appointed.

Highly recommend this hotel for a relaxing trip for families, business or couples. I'll definitely be visiting again when i need a couple of peaceful and relaxing days away from the craziness of Hurghada!

Room Tip: Dont get a room which is near 'The Clubhouse' as can be a bit noisy when they have events on...

Staff were (mostly) fantastic. Rooms were nice, the complex is beautiful, the food was wonderful. A little away from the centre marina, but with dirt-cheap (50 euro cents a person, anywhere) tuc-tuc transport everywhere, this is a great thing! :)

Wanted to book at another hotel initially but they do not allow teens under 16 yrs. Dont expect too much and you would definitely have a good time here. We booked the room for appx less than US$60 a day, room is of adequate size with huge bathroom and comfortable beds but that's about it. No basic toiletries except for shower/hand gel. You need to rent the coffee making facility which sound quite silly. Breakfast is the same old thing for the 4 days we were there. Pool is quite small but fill up fast, especially with guests talking and dipping in the water (so forget doing laps). There are many negatives but the staff are very friendly and accommodating, which make the stay very enjoyable. Take a walk to downtown and try out the Thai food (White elephant), simply delicious!!

Room Tip: Go for higher floors to get a better view of the lagoon

Stayed here for 1 week with my husband and daughter and loved it. It was beautifully landscaped, very clean, friendly and the food was to die for. The waiters made sure they got to know you and brought you your drink before you even asked. No complaints!

Worst hotel ever. Worst service and worst staff. And they charge 50 pounds for laundry bag!!! How cheap and barely a half star hotel not 4 stars.

Staff smell, hygiene is a big issue. Boring swimming pool. No music and service by the pool is terrible.

Room not clean. Cheap furniture. Mosquitos everywhere.

I asked for a UK to EU power plug converter and they guy told me I don't know what's this but you can go out and buy it!!

Asked for an iron and iron table and was told send over your stuff for a fee!!

Our earlier trips to Gouna were in one or other of the 5 star hotels but due to a late booking at the peak time this was all we could find. This meant we were not sure what to expect and overall we were very happy with our stay there.
The location is excellent. Situated in picturesque gardens right on the canals beside downtown it was not only a great spot but close to downtown and a short walk or Toc Toc ride to Abu Tig Marina. The smaller size meant it felt a little more personal and comfortable and the pool and beach was not overcrowded. This area was very nice and was served by friendly staff at a nearby waterside bar. Just 50 meters away is the "Clubhouse" which looked a fun place for the younger crowd to hang out and it also has paddle board and boat hire.
Our only meals there was breakfast which had a good range (unfortunately no pork products) and again a nice waterside location.
Our rooms (217 and 218) were in a premium spot overlooking both the pool area and the canals. They were fairly clean and reasonably spacious though looking slightly dated. The bed was comfortable and each room had a balcony, a couch and TV with a stocked mini bar.

Outside of peak season this would be exceptional value.
Will be hard to decide next visit if we return or back to 5 star, probably returning here.

Room Tip: Room 207, 208, 209, 217, 218,
