“Friendly Resort in El Gouna”
Reviewed November 22, 2013

This resort was clean. The Staff were very friendly and most helpful at all times. The food was lovely and I hope ALI - (Chef) is recovering from his knee operation! The animation team did their best - however there needs to be more thought into their programme to keep the guests amused during the day. The sun goes down early in the Winter and there is nothing to do! For myself this was grand as I went to El Gouna for treatment. The Taxis into Hurghada are a nightmare as the Taxi drivers are not permitted to leave El Gouna. You can get a Taxi anywhere around El Gouna for just 15 Egyptian Pounds. Maybe you want to take the Tuk Tuk- such fun- that is just 5 EG per person. I had a lovely stay at the Rihana Resort and I would return, however there are so many places to visit in the world- I will get my Gold wrist band one day for visiting The Three Corners. It was a pleasure to meet so many people from Belgium and Holland. There were only a handful of English people staying here. Thank you to all the reception staff who assisted me- I really did appreciate it, you know who you are. Kindest regards and I hope to see you all again sometime next year.

Room Tip: If you want to be close to everything- ask to stay in the Resort-not the Inn! The Inn is rather dar...

We went there ... a lot of times since 2008 at least once a year, some years more.
The service and the rooms are very good. Gentle people are working there, and try to do more than their best to satisfy all your wish. Food is nice and all the installations are very clean and safe for the entire guest, from 1 to 99 years old ;-)
For the divers, It's certainly the best choice to dive with EasyDiver Academy. Top service and material, French, Dutch, German and English speaking employees, instructors and guides : The Max. I also inform myself about the other diving offers, but they never convene me enough to change that winning team.
Definitely THE place to be in El Gouna for a very good price !

Room Tip: Request rooms in the bloc 5 or 8 ;-)

This is my 2nd visit to this hotel, I was afraid of service level to be changed due to low season all hotels suffering in Egypt, but I found the same standard I found before. thanks for three corners management and staff as they keep serving same standard all the time, friendly staff and high quality food. Recommended.

Room Tip: I like rooms on sunset pool

Ideal when staying in El Gouna for diving.
The hotel is calm, good food, excellent service, very nice staff.
When you like scuba diving, do not use the inhouse dive centers but go with TGI Diving that is run by an Italian and Dutch couple. They offer excellent service and have a very helpfull and friendly local staff. Pickup and drop off are aranged from the hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for a room near the Sunset pool, this part of the resort is much calmer and the rooms all have a...

Stayed for one week at the end of July 2013.

Room: ours was a good size with twin beds, located in the block above the diving academy and health club. This had a view over the fitness pool and the lagoon to one side. The room had recently been refurbished and was cleaned to a high standard daily. Free water is provided daily in the mini bar, all other drinks are at extra cost though.
We stayed in the block above the diving academy and health club in the Rihana Resort. Originally we were booked into the Rihana Inn, however we were able to email and change this to the Resort for around €10 euros a night. Booked via Thomas Cook who don’t make it clear whether you are booking the Resort or Inn so check the name carefully! We opted for the Resort as previous reviews stated this was quieter than the Inn.

Food / Drink: A buffet most nights with a good selection of food, although the majority is fish and meat. Quite a few of the dishes were similar daily, i.e. meat / fish in a sauce quite like the one the day before – luckily there is enough variety for this to not become boring over the week. Portions from the speciality selections were on the small side, a couple of trips sorted that though!
One of our party is a vegetarian and found there was enough choice to not have the same meal daily, the salads being highly recommended. One evening was an outdoors bbq which caused some large queues, however there were no problems any other nights finding a table and getting food.
House white wine was ok, red a bit less so for me. Plenty of beer and soft drinks available at meals, as others have mentioned fresh juice was available for additional cost at breakfast.
We didn’t bother with any of the À la carte restaurants, partly due to previous reviews and partly because they’re not included as part of all inclusive (instead there’s a slightly confusing discount scheme in place). Other all-inclusive resorts have included one or two meals in the price.

Entertainment: We spent most days at the lagoon with its excellent beach bar. Most evenings at the “Jazz” bar which was quiet and relaxing. There is a table service at this bar which meant it sometimes took a while to get drinks at its busiest. Shisha is available here for a few Egyptian pounds and comes recommended!
Peanuts bar was a bit too family oriented for us, most nights having a disco or karaoke. The “Animation” (hate this name) shows were ok but a bit cheesy, the night we saw was a mimed sing and dance to the music of Grease.

Location: The hotel is a short walk from the down town area of El Gouna which has a selection of market stalls, shops and bars / restaurants. The night we went most seemed to be closed or very quiet; we went quite early so things might liven up later on. A cheap shuttle bus can take you to the marina for more restaurant and bars if you’re bored of the hotel, this is worth a visit for at least one night.
El Gouna itself is about 45 minutes from Hurghada airport along rather drab looking roads. The compound itself felt secure with the situation in Egypt at the time. The area is great for snorkelling, trips can be booked at the hotel (we went for a 2 hour trip which was €9 each).

Overall: A great hotel with friendly staff which only loses one star as not everything is included in the all-inclusive price.

Room Tip: Rooms in the block above the diving academy and health club recommended; quiet and potentially a vie...

We've just come back from 2 weeks relaxing in the glorious sunshine all day & a bit of clubbing at night! El Gouna is perfectly safe for us European tourists despite the recent troubles in Cairo so don't let that put you off going. It was lovely to see some familiar faces at the Rihana again this year - both staff and guests. The beginning of October was very quiet but the 2nd week was very busy due to the Festival of Eid, the marina in particular was rocking - more like Ibiza at times than Egypt but we were just far enough away to avoid it if we wanted to of join in which we did a few times. The staff & management at the Rihana can't do enough for you & are genuinely pleased to see us each year which is lovely. The entertainment needs refreshing as it has been exactly the same for years but that is the only minor criticism we can think of. Some of the shops were closed as it has been so quiet but the spa was still open & we had some great treatments there. Can't wait to go back next year, Sharon & Sandra

Room Tip: You can't get a better view than from the rooms overlooking the lagoon, it's breath-taking!

we have just retuned from this lovely hotel, having spent 10 nights there. we stayed in the rihnanna inn at first which was over looking the pool which was lovely, room was on the small side, but having spent four nights in this room we had a letter put through our door asking us if we would like to upgrade and if so to contact the reception, when we got there the manager asked if we would like to see another room at no further cost, we were shown the room 7304 which was much bigger and over looking the pool and the logoon which was beautiful we were well pleased.we booked chez pascal and dolcia vita which was delicious.abu tig marina is a short tuk tuk ride that cost £1.plus plenty to choose from the restaurants,WI Fi is available free in the sunset bar which was nice to sit in and relax. we spent most of our time at the logoon george couldnt do enough for us as did the nice guy who did our sun beds for us everyday always smiling. we felt safe at this hotel and definitely be back there next year.
