“Excellent Vietnamese food”
Reviewed April 30, 2014

Have been to El Gouna 8 times and in recent years we always visit this restaurant at least 3 times.
Once again the food was excellent. The menu has more choice than in previous years and on one occaision 2 special duck dishes were offered (they were delicious).

“Best restaurant in El Gouna”
Reviewed April 5, 2014

My husband and I visited El Gouna in March and ate at this restaurant twice. Is was by far the best most authentic food that we tasted in the resort. Admittedly we both like quite spicey, tasty food but this had lovely fresh ingredients and we thoroughly recommend it if you like Thai or Vietnamese food the chicken salad was divine and the spicey beef curry really hit the spot for my husbands chilli addiction. Obviously there were plenty of milder dishes on the menu as well as fish and vegetarian. Very clean and well presented too....by far the best two meals we had in the resort.

“Yummy food”
Reviewed April 2, 2014

We only found this restaurant when walking around the harbour at night, as during the day it doesn't stand out. They have chefs from Vietnam cooking, so food very authentic. I had prawns and a curry and my husband had squid and a spicy beef dish, all were fantastic. Well worth a visit

“Did the chef change?”
Reviewed March 2, 2014

Hello readers, we've been to Saigon on every visit to El Gouna because we simply love the Vietnamese food there and there is no such place in all of Egypt. However, this last time around, we did go at an off-peak time and perhaps the chef was someone different. We always order the Pho (beef soup); and it was lacking, to be honest. It was overly greasy. The fresh ingredients lacked the bean sprouts which makes Pho balance out the taste. And the beef broth tasted a bit old, like it was re-heated or something. The Beef Vermicelli with beef slices was excellent as usual. And the spring rolls were very good. The prices here have dramatically increased since last year because of the economy. I don't blame them, but get ready to dish out some cash. On international standards, the price is comparable. About $12-$15 USD per dish after tax and service charge. Saigon used to be great when the vietnamese owner was there and waited on the tables and talked to us. We miss her. I think she is managing their other restaurant at Tamr Henna.
