“Absolutely the best meal in El Gouna”
Reviewed April 23, 2013

We ate at Upstairs on the last evening of our stay, and had the set menu of only 199 LE - a very god price! Had lobster soup, beef fillet and creme brulee, which all tasted great.
This was definitely the best dinner we had during our stay, and would have wished that we could have gone there ealier, so we could have made two visits!
Great service, and it was nice to be greeted by the Swedish host.

“How good is this?”
Reviewed April 22, 2013

I always have a rule on Trip Advisor to totally ignore reviews by anyone who calls themselves a foodie. Without exception, they trumpet up places that are dreadful and criticise superb places like this so ignore their review down below.

THIS RESTAURANT IS SUPERB.

I could never imagine that we'd find somewhere as good as this in El Gouna. The menu is interesting, the wine list is great, as is the service and the food is exceptional.

I had the camel which was beautiful. Spicy and tender. Fantastic. You must try it. The Jardin du Nil organic wines are the best we've tasted on our whole trip.

Throw in a superb soundtrack from the young Scots guy on the acoustic guitar in the bar next door and a bill of £60 for 3 course, 2 bottles of wine and a couple of beers and you've woke up and landed in heaven.

Don't miss it!

Oh BTW, don't mix it up with the restaurant in the square which is actually up some stairs. This is on the ground floor.

“Delicious”

Fantastic food, great service and always made to feel welcome. They will also provide "off menu" dishes for young children - usually a choice of pasta or chicken nuggets.
On the higher end of the budget, but no hidden costs - taxes and service included.

Overall great value and fantastic food...

“So,so.....”
Reviewed April 17, 2013

The menu looked good at this restaurant....the execution was a bit weak. I almost think the restaurant is trying to be too adventurous and would do better to do a few things really well. I had the chicken and it was dry..... We had a veggie with us and asked for the holoumi as a main course and were served a starter size......the maitre d apologised but did nothing about it.....one very hungry veggie. I would say give it a go if you are in El Gouna but I am not sure it warrants the price, which for El Gouna is well above the others.

“Top Class”
Reviewed April 8, 2013

French style restaurant.
Good food with a twist (Try the roast Camel!).
I did not book but it was busy, I think peak times you would need to book.
Eat in or outdoors (patio heaters if chilly)
