I fell into Jasmine hotel by chance. Meeting Tito (the manager) in the street and taking a leap of faith that paid off. He is truly a fantastic man, not pushy, yet able to sort out anything you need at very good value. Rooms are clean and the choice varies according to your need (and budget). His English and knowledge of the world is impeccable. Through working with tourists for the most part of his life, he has come in close contact with the type of aggressive touts you get in Luxor and, refreshingly, despises them. Expect a great welcome from Tito (and his great team), good food, cheap beer, and good value excursions. All in a beautiful setting on the very edge of the bejewlled infinity pool which is the Red Sea!

This is an excellent place to stay, particularly if you're interested in the nature and culture of Sinai. It is close to the centre of Dahab, but away from the hustle and noise of the main tourist area. The rooms are small but have everything you need, and the sea view is amazing. Ramy is very helpful when making reservations and always replies to e-mails quickly.

The staff are happy to arrange excursions and use very good guides. We did three trips (snorkeling and camel trek to Ras Abu Galum nature reserve, St Catherine's monastery and Mt Sinai, and painted canyon) and highly recommend all of them. Ramy and the team will go the extra mile to accommodate your requests. We wanted to visit Mt Sinai during the day, whereas most people go for the sunrise, but they found an excursion for us.

The general atmosphere around the place is great. Evenings are very relaxed and fun in the beachside cabana-style restaurant, with everyone chatting and sitting on cushions. And I will never forget how the staff surprised me for my birthday! Ramy noticed from my passport that I would be having my birthday during our stay and arranged to have a huge, amazing cake brought out to us in the restaurant! That was a fantastic evening which captures the fun spirit of the place. Thanks again for an unforgettable birthday, guys!

My one recommendation: duvet covers.

For the price, this hotel is a great value. I got a sea view room for a great price. Fantastic location, great food in their restaurant. My low rating is due to the roofing. While I was there, a storm blew in. It got quite windy. Unfortunately, they have plastic sheeting on the roof and it clapped like mad all night. Barley got any sleep.

The rooms aren't 5 star, but for the money, it's a great deal. Tito is aggressive, but not overly so. He's just trying to do his job. He was very helpful to me, even when I checked out early due to the bad weather there. It was just too cold for me. He helped me get a ride to the bus station and even tried to help with some other logistics. Great service on his part.

I would return to this hotel without hesitation....when it's a bit warmer, and hopefully when they have dealt with the roof issue. Or, get a room on the lower floor!

My name is Francis, Im Canadian, 26 y.o.

If you're looking for a nice and cheap place to stay in Dahab, dont hesitate and reserve at Jasmine Pension (Mashraba street). Its my 3rd time in this cozy and charming place and I will be back again and again.

WHY?

The general manager of this hotel is Tito. This guy (that I consider now like a brother) knows everything about Egypt. He studied tourism at Cairo University for many years. For sure he can provide you with a good room at very cheap prices, but he can also arrange any exciting trip you're looking for. Im so satisfied about him commitment, that I have to recomend him to anyone heading to Dahab.

_______
ROOMS

All the rooms are very nice including hot water, A/C, TV satellite, private bathroom with fresh water. Some of them have a sea view and a beautiful balcony. (Reserve in advance) All the rooms are for rent at a very very cheap price for what you get. The prices are including breakfast. If you rent a balcony sea-view room, you'll LOVE the sun rise on the ocean. Priceless.....

RESTAURANT

The restaurant has a good variety of fish, poultry, steaks, salads, sea fruits, kebabs, koftas, hummus, babaganouj, etc. Delicious! For example, you can choose the fish you want and they cook it in front of you on their BBQ! But the most spectacular thing is the view! You can lie down on a cushion on the top of the restaurant and feel the sun while looking at a wonderful landscape! Impressive and free! :)

Oh, and there's free Wi-Fi anywhere around the hotel provided by Jasmine with a password for customers.

TRIPS AVAILABLE FROM JASMINE (ask Tito himself)

- Desert safari (one day) to White Canyon, Couloured canyon, Mushroom rock and Oasis. Including Bedouin meal, tea and Jeep transportation.

- Desert safari (2 days) to White Canyon, Couloured Canyon, Mushroom rock, Narrow Canyon, Double Canyon, including Bedouin meals, tea and Jeep transportation. You spend the night in the Oasis that is held by Bedouins. You sleep in a tent or do like me and sleep on the carpet with your sleeping bag looking at the shining stars! Unforgettable! Wake up early for sunrise. Bedouin breakfast is sublime! :)

-Quad (4x4) or motocross ride in the desert (2 hours approx)

- Trip to Petra (Jordan) one or 2 days.

-Trip to Jerusalem (Israel) one or 2 days.

-Any other place in Egypt, Tito will buy your tickets and arrange pick-ups, it is so easy!

DIVING

If you love diving, just go next door at 'Diver's House'. The staff of Jasmine's and Diver's House are good friends, so you can easily get along with your neighbors if you plan on staying longer! They organize tours to Sharm El-Sheik to dive the amazing Thistlegorm!!!

Room Tip: Balcony room with sea-view is highly recommended!

"no salted water" and "no cold water" is true if you're considering having no water at all in your room. Not enough water pressure nowhere. After a try to get this fixed, which was obviously not possible with the installation they have, we wanted to leave. For this, we've been charged an extra "half a day" more. Wouldn't recommend it. The next hotel we went to was exactly the same price and everything worked fine (a few meters away)... Good luck

Dear Llu
Greetings from sunny Dahab.
Please be honest when you write a bad review and tell the whole story.
You stayed tow nights in Jasmine, you had a problem in you room late at night we got the plumber to fix it in the morning, you said the water temperature is okay but the pressure is not ; so we offer you another room with same price & features & you denied the offer and appreciated it when we offer you another room "third room" but you never accept any of the offers and you get your luggage down to reception around 7pm asking to check out., we wanted you to stay and did the best we can to solve your complain because we really care about our guests.
We charge you half day because you checked out at 7pm & you didn't inform us from the morning that you might do, so the day is counted already but we made 50% off the room price asking you (are you happy with this solution?) you replied by yes & we shake hands.

Best regards,
Ramy

A great Place, very few number of rooms, but tidy, and great Sea View, it's only missing Mini bar Refrigerator to rate it as excellent. The crew is very friendly and Helpful specially Ramy who was making sure that we are comfort and not missing any thing.

Room Tip: take the sea view rooms, the sun rise from the room is Amazing. and don't miss the breakfast :)
