I stayed here at the start of the year and can't recommend it enough. The communication prior to our arrival was excellent and the transfer from the airport that was arranged through Sian worked really well,.
When we arrived we were met by Tim who showed us around the apartment complex which was small, quiet and secluded - we felt we had it to ourselves as there was never any noise from anyone else. We also had a little food parcel which was a great help for the first night.
The accommodation itself was spacious, roomy, light and comfortable. From several hours of surfing for accommodation before deciding on this apartments, it looked by far the best for the money and it didn't disappoint. The owners are helpful and available if you have any problems or questions. A great choice and if I head back out that way again, I'll definitely be returning to Sea Stars!

We have just returned from a wonderful 9 day stay at Sea Stars Apartments.

The owners Tim and Sian are lovely and happy to give advice on what to do and see in Dahab.

We arrived at Sharm airport and a mini bus was waiting as promised to take us on our 1 hour journey to Dahab.

On arrival we were met by Tim and Abdul (the gardener/handyman) and shown around the beautiful apartment (modern and clean) and roof terrace (stunning)

It is a lovely 15-20mins walk along the promanade to get into the centre where all the main restaurants/bars are but there are also several decent restaurants 5mins away. The only restaurant that i would recommend over the others which are all ok but serve the same type of food is Sea Bride which had the most amazing seafood. You choose what you want from a fresh collection of fish/squid/prawns or lobster and they cook the perfectly to your requirements.

The apartments themselves are on the edge of a bedouin villiage which is very "rustic" but with loads of character. The people are very friendly and the area is very safe.

During our time in Dahab we did some great trips which were very reasonably priced including quad bikes, camel ride, Bedouin dinner and glass bottom boat trip, all booked with New Sphinx Safari (Hany and Soso) who were brilliant.

We spent a great deal of our time up on the roof terrace under the shaded Bedouin area where we had breakfast or just chilled in the evenings drinking peppermint tea.
We will definately be returning to Seastars, they are the most comfortable apartments we have ever stayed in. If you are going to stay in Dahab you should definately consider these apartments, you will not be disappointed.

Four of us stayed at Sea Stars in Oct 2009 and our holiday was so good that we have just booked to return in June 2010! The apartments are spacious, clean, tastefully decorated and well-equipped. The location is away from the hustle & bustle of the centre but not too far - the main hub of shops & restaurants is only a short taxi ride (£1) or 10-15 min walk away. There are also some restaurants & grocery stores just 5min on foot. The owners are really helpful & friendly, and we also spent one day learning to dive with Tim. Our airport transfers were arranged for us and went very smoothly. We spent 3 days at the lagoon at the other end of town learning to windsurf with "Ibi & friends". We were slightly disappointed by our instructor (a local guy who was nice enough but did not speak great English) but then again the clientèle seemed mainly Russian or German other than us (English), so maybe we should have chosen a different company!

We were traveling during the Egyptian Christmas holiday, so the beaches were deserted and we had the place to ourselves. We were most fortunate to find this apartment. It is beautiful, well designed and brand new. Lots of room for the five of us.

Tim oriented us, directed us to good snorkeling and arranged a driver for our Mt. Sinai expedition. We would have loved to have stayed longer.

The only reason I am not giving 5 stars is because we had a problem with the water. We woke up on the day after climbing Mt. Sinai and there was no water. The gardener had the day off and it took Tim a couple of hours to get back to us. Since we are campers, this was not a big deal for us. Tim was very apologetic and did his best to make things right.

I would highly recommend this apartment to anyone. We loved watching Bedouin village life going on around us. It was fun watching the goats eat the compost!

Anytime we have a choice between an apartment and a hotel, we always choose an apartment. We cook our own breakfast and lunch and go out for supper. Tim and Sian have put together a very informative booklet on Dahab that lists good restaurants in the area.

The Sea Stars apartments are quite simply the nicest apartments we have stayed in anywhere. They are amazingly spacious for 2 and would be absolutely fine for 4. They are very comfortable and much better equipped than many places we have stayed - if you want to eat in rather than go out, cooking is not a problem. Each roof terrace is shared with one other apartment, but we never saw anyone else on ours, and it gave us a wonderful spot to spend an idle hour or two, particularly at the end of the day.

The apartments are a 10ish minute walk from the more touristy bits of Dahab, but having a bit of a cushion between where you stay and the (not over-intrusive) hustle of the busier bit suited us. There is a very good, cheap and unpretentious fish restaurant and friendly baker, and less welcoming fruit and veg stalls, within 2 minutes. That's about what it takes to walk to the closest bit of beach too. The Bedouin village around the apartments is far from elegant, but is interesting and animated - again, maybe not to all tastes, but it suited us really well.

We went on a snorkelling trip organised by Tim, one of the co-owners, and it was excellent - half of the people on the trip were diving and the other half snorkelling, so there was no sense for either group that they were out of place. Very posh boat too! And Sian sorted out some riding for one of us - again, very good indeed, but not for the inexperienced. We did two other trips (to the Blue Hole for snorkelling and to St Catherine's Monastery and Mt Sinai) with one of the many companies offering trips from Dahab - the latter was not the most brilliantly organised trip we've ever been on, but very rewarding.

So we really enjoyed Dahab, and hope to go again. The apartments are really exceptionally nice, though the location may not be to everyone's taste.

I would recommend the Dahab.net website, it was really helpful both for pre-holiday planning and whilst in Dahab (took a laptop with us). Assisted with initial resort/accommodation selection and ideas for things to do whilst on holiday

Very good transfer service (arranged by Dahab.net) and no problems with arrival or departure arrangements, only criticism would be that there appeared to be no air conditioning on either vehicle, and for late night arrivals providing a bottle of water might be a nice touch (the kids were dying of thirst!)

The apartments are amazing - clean, spacious, comfortable and better than expected, even after reading all the other reviews on Tripadvisor. Much better equipped than any self catering I have stayed in before and the 'welcome pack' of food, drink and BEER really tops it off. Lovely garden area surrounding the accommodation and very well maintained. A little more expensive than some of the other options we looked at but worth every penny - the roof terrace and air con in every room alone were worth the extra. Also, with 2 kids it was great to have 2 separate bedrooms AND a living area, again unusual and no need to sleep on sofa beds in the living space!!

The apartments are located in the Bedouin ‘residential’ area which was great as it gave us a real flavour of the local people and culture. The beach was a 10-15 minute walk away and another quarter of an hour along the footpath took us into the middle of the commercial area with an array of shops, restaurants etc. The locals were very friendly and great fun, particularly with the kids, and don’t be afraid to do a bit of bartering, it’s all part of the experience!

All of the restaurants we ate in were good value and the service was terrific, my daughter (9) was very taken with 'El Mundo' and my son (11) with 'Ali Babas'. During the day we particularly liked Eel Star Gardens, arrive for breakfast, stay all day swimming and sunbathing then pay at the end, really relaxed and great staff. Also thoroughly enjoyed the evening quad bike safari and glass bottom boat trips

DIVING

Mirage Diving (arranged through Tim at Sea Stars) were a great bunch, I dived with 2 different guides, both excellent, friendly and knowledgeable, the 1-1 guide to diver ratio is great too. I took most of my own kit but what was supplied was fine and the centre was very flexible in accommodating the dive times I wanted. Having only recently obtained my PADI advanced open water qualification (in the murky waters of the UK!) diving headlong to 30 metres into The Canyon was incredible. I was really impressed by the attention to 'safe' diving, you hear some horror stories about dive centres abroad ignoring PADI regulations but these guys were safe without being restrictive. Also, the family boat trip and diving arranged for our last day was a lovely way to end the holiday.

All in all this was a fantastic family holiday, the kids loved the beach ‘free range’ goats and camels and bartering with the shopkeepers, my partner loved having shade and comfort on the beach, we were all blown away by the apartments.……….and I got to go diving as well, PERFECT.
