We (myself, my wife and our 5 yrs old son) decided to spend part of this summer vacation in Sinai. Stayed the 1st 3 nights in Taba then moved to Dahab. We were VERY impressed by this property. The impression was made from the moment we were welcomed by a refreshing drink and hot towels. The room was great (we were upgraded without asking from a superior to a deluxe) with an enjoyable out door shower in the back yard. The food was just fine (the dessert was the best). Dahab is also a great place to stay. As an Egyptian famly we had the chance to stay all over Sinai (ie Sharm, Ras Sedr and Taba) and Dahab is the best and least commercial (most affordable also). I would recommend the following:
- An evening at Dahab downtown (Mashraba);
- Blue hole snorkling;
- 3 pools snorkling;
- Wadi Genai oasis;
- barbeque night at the 3 connections.
I was really recharged to come back to work

Having just spent nine days at Le Meridien Dahab I am full of praise. My wife and I were amazed at the difference staying in a hotel of the quality Le Meridir]en can offer makes, having previously stayed at not quite such an up market establishment.
We had a most enjoyable time, were well looked after by the friendly hotel staff and spent three fantastic days diving with Poseidon Divers who are on site.
In all a thoroughly good relaxing holiday and would recommend to anyone.

We have just returned from The Meridien Dahab and had a great time.
The room was excellent and well designed. We particularly liked the bath/bedroom window. Everything is exceptionaly clean and staff are all friendly and helpfull.

We enjoyed some great diving through the Poseidon dive school and mixed this with just relaxing on the beach in one of the lovely Beach-eggs.

This is an excellent an luxurious hotel, but the design elements make it comfortable and intimate. We highly recommend it!

Visa info, you do not need a visa if you are not going to leave DAHAB. Don't be conned. Le Meriden Dahab is a beautiful hotel with its own private beach. The beach is shingle/gravel but that is due to it having it's own coral reef to snorkel every day if you so wish. The rooms are spacious, well air conditioned, light and well maintained. They are cleaned daily and if you so wish your linens can be replaced daily. A good sized patio for you to sit on with privacy. Sky TV, Fridge, Aircon, Hairdryer (iron on request), Ice on request (free of charge and mineral water), room service which isn't over priced. The pool/s, the pool staff are amazingly helpful, happy, asking if you are okay but not so much it gets on your nerves. Mixture of Salt Water and Fresh you have a great choice. Jacuzzi, Sauna, Steam room all available. The restaurants were good and well priced and again the staff were amazing. Breakfast was lovely, great variety, pretty much the same every day but you don't have to eat the same things. The views were stunning. Very quiet in the evening but they do a transfer bus into town a few times a day. Cab from hotel 27 Egyptian Pounds. Cab from town 15-20 Egyptian Pounds. Dahab is very hippy and laid back, full of windsurfers and back packers. Lovely restaurants about 40 Egyptian Pounds per head, try: Friends, Nirvana, The Kitchen, Alcapone, Sea Bride (strange but good fish), Ali Baba, A steak restaurant but the name I can't remember. Didn't like Funny Mummy, odd meat and we were both ill after eating there. People, they do hound you to come into their shops but if you are polite and have a giggle with them, then no harm done. We went to Cairo for two days, the sights are amazing. We went on a bus, not for the feinthearted but if you an ex backpacker, doable. We wish we had had time to go to Petra. Lots of trips available. Reccomend the guy who works in the hotel behind the Churchill Pub, very good. For after hours fun, try Rush, lovely little venue, very cool but with people who know how to enjoy themselves. Friday is a very good dj night.

we stayed at the meridien in cairo, and was absolutely disappointed.

now we're at dahab, and this is what we hoped for. it's gorgeous (the view is amazing), the service & food great. we're finally having a real vacation!

the diving (poisedon) crew are extremely nice and professional.

this place is great if you don't want to leave the hotel much. just eat, sun bathe, exercise (doing water sports). i wouldn't recommend this place for families.

i highly recommend this hotel!

(the only complaint is the ridiculously expensive internet charge. but, oh well)
