Don't expect luxury or over the top amenities when you stay at Penguin Village.

It is a very basic, authentic place, situated right in front of the sea. Rooms are not that good, but in Dahab, you'll probably be spending most of your stay doing a lot of other activities, so you just need a place to crash.

Reservation is very simple and easy. It is also cheap. I paid 840 LE for a 5 day, 4 night stay in a single room.

Haven't tried their food except for once, and it was good, but I recommend exploring other restaurants when in Dahab.

checked in for a three nights stay, checked out before completing the first night due to the bad smell in the room and the dirty bed sheets.
will never try it again.
Room views are good with a pleasant place to have a drink on the sea.
all in all bad hotel.

This hotel was a very good experience for us, the staff is really nice and helpful, the location is very good, and the price is fair enough. We had a bit issue with the first room regarding cleaning but they immediately changed us to a cozy and clean room. I will definitely stay here again.

Room tip: The best rooms have balcony and feels like they pay more attention to those.

Our stay at penguin village was great!! We stayed for 8 days and ended up adding a day. The staff was very friendly, from Emad, the general manager, to Achmad en Flo at the diving centre. We did not plan to do a diving course, but we did and it was the best thing we could have done (discount on the room while taking the course!). The PADI-certified instructor Achmed was great and took us to amazing diving sites (also got to snorkle at the blue hole while others from another course were diving). Wifi was Egyptian wifi ;). Did not reach the room very well, but ok in common areas. Everyone was so relaxed and nice. The atmosphere in Dahab in general is very relaxed, so different from the rest of Egypt. The hotel also offers well-prized tours to mount Sinai and other areas and you can talk to the staff about everything you want to know. There's a shop that sells alcohol behind the hostel, so that's nice. The restaurant was ok and the food tasty, but it took ages for the food to arrive. Lots of restaurants to choose from in the area though. All in all: We are definitely coming back here some day!

Dahab Penguin Village was one of the best stays of my 5 week Middle East journey.

Rooms are decent, some better than others. Fairly sizable room, bed amd bathroom. Not always the cleanest though. Showers are bad, not always hot water and low water pressure.

Great diving school although a little bit higher priced than others. Very friendly and funny staff.

Restaurant was mediocre. Great staff but slow service and mediocre food. Better elsewhere. Great place to sit though, forgetting the mosquitoes.

Totally recommend this place, it will enrich your Dahab experience. Oh and take the diving course, its not as great without experiencing the diving lifestyle.
