We stayed in one of the new rooms - very nicely decorated, ample accommodation and private patio. Excellent location for divers with Reef 2000 next door. Very good service all round. Good breakfasts - the pancakes are particularly excellent. Slightly limited menu but everything was freshly prepared. Don't let the current demonstrations in Egypt put you off - Sinai was very quiet.

Stayed at the bedouin moon hotel from jan 13th 2011 - jan 20th 2011 with a group of 34 from my university for the purpose of qualifying as scuba divers. The hotel is clean and inviting, with the staff going out of their way to do what they can for you and are on hand 24/7. This was by far one of my best holidays and there is very little i could find to fault, the food and drinks at the hotel are of a high quality and variety and in comparison to other areas of dahab are very cheap!! Next to the hotel is the Reef 2000 dive centre, the staff here are amazing and again go above and beyond what you would expect to ensure you are happy and comfortable. They managed to qualify all who went as open water divers within 3-4 days and the majority of us as advanced open water divers in the following two days. I would highly recomend adam inparticular as a dive instructor as he is possibly one of the nicest and most patient people you meet!!! I wold definately return to the bedouin moon if i were to return to dahab and definately choose Reef 2000 when i continue with the next steps of my diving qualifications.

Nice friendly hotel about 25 mins walk away from the centre of Dahab. If you're feeling lazy a txi for 2 will cost just over £1.00 (10 Egyptian pounds)
Beautiful gardens and pool area
Rooms very basic
Staff very friendly, no hassle

It is a real surprise that this hotel is a paltry one-star, it surely deserves to be upgraded a couple of notches. It has the feel of a real home from home - relaxed, welcoming, friendly, informal. The staff and service is faultless. After a 6 hour flight delay, we arrived quite late, but the chef was called (presumably from his home, but there was no sign of anything but willingness to serve) and a delicious meal prepared in no time for five hungry travellers. Nothing is too much and everything is done with a genuine smile. Though the pool was a bit chilly for me, the children enjoyed it immensely. I especially liked the shisha pipe den where we lounged around after dinner on cushions and rugs in front of an well-tended open fire, chit-chatting to other guests. There are superior-looking hotels within a stones' throw from the Bedouin Moon but I suspect the ambience would be more plastic, less 'real' than one finds at the Bedouin Moon. It's a little chipped and frayed around the edges, but that only adds to the hotel's charm. I can't imagine that travellers at those other hotels would have spent a more wonderful Christmas Day than the one we had, taken out on camels to a local wadi where throws, blankets and cushions awaited us. After a stroll around the amazing scenery we settled down in front of a camp-fire for an amazing lunch on china plates, followed by Bedouin tea. All against the backdrop of a local musician playing an impressive-looking/sounding instrument to candlelight, beneath a million stars. Truly magical. Highly recommend.

You've not booked, you should book.

Are you a single traveller as I was looking for total relaxtion in a wonderful setting, with good food and something to drink? You won't find any or many children there, there's no kiddies club, evening entertainment etc. A superb masseur currently offers his services there however and a superb English lady teaches meditation and relaxation and all trips that you might want to do can be organised, you only need to ask.

The hotel is near enough to Dahab to walk or you can simply take a taxi. Currently about 1 English pound gets you right into the centre. Where I live no taximan would open his door for that money. The beach is right there across the road - mind the camels! You can check the house reef out from your breakfast table and the water is ooh so warm!

Do you dive? Would you like to dive, perhaps you only snorkel, this is the place for you. Canyons and the famed blue hole are right nearby, the formere being much less busy and definitely worth a visit. Don't forget to take a boat trip and go south there are many joys to behold.

Just want to sit and read a book, totally chill, sleep loads you've also found the right place. Do as much or as little as you want, no pressure, no stress.

Bedouin Moon offers an unpretentious hotel base with truly excellent dive school attached. The staff in the hotel are caring to an amazing degree and those in the dive school are top professionals. Being such a small hotel you get very personal service from everyone. Nothing seems too much and you feel welcomed as part of a big family from day one. I truly felt a welcome guest, met loads of other wonderful like minded people and had a truly amazing holiday.

If you want the Hilton or Swiss whatever, off you go, leave Bedouin Moon for us who value it for what it is. The hotel has many repeat guests, some who come more than once a year and given half a chance I would be on the plane tomorrow!

Remember you are in Egypt, relax, take things at a totally chilled pace and enjoy.

As it was my first on a singles holiday I approached the whole holiday with a degree of caution. Needn't have. Dave welcomed us with a beer and the staff immediately set about making us feel at home - leading to the first of many beers! Small and cozy the whole atmosphere was seriously laid back and relaxing - what's not to like? The on site dive school were also extremely helpful and friendly and shared some great dive sites with us. Liked it so much that I'm going back over the Christmas break - probably the next of many visits.

I have been going to the bedouin moon for four years now and long may it continue.
I read one of the other reviews that said the hotel it is not very clean especially the bathrooms, but I can honestly say, that has never been the case when we have been there. It has always been clean.
The same person also said you go through a local slum to get to the town, obviously this is a matter of perception. I would say you go through the local bedouin town with goats and camels wandering around and this just adds to the character on the way to the more touristy part of the town.
This is not a five star hotel, but it is good value for money and the atmosphere is brilliant.
We always have a sea view and wake up to the sound of the sea in front of the hotel. have a lovely breakfast, then make our way to the dive centre, Reef 2000, which is attached to the side if the hotel.
We always have a great time diving with them, the guides know their dive sites well and are always spotting things for us.
The staff at the hotel, the dive centre and the drivers are so friendly, helpful, proffesional, with a brilliant sense of humour.
We always have great days diving and great evenings with old friends and new.
The hotel and dive centre is situated between the Sinia mountains to the rear and the red sea at the front.
The pool is lovely, with plenty of sunbeds, towels and a bar where you can order food and drink.
They have also just opened a small Shisha cafe, laid out with cushions, very relaxing.
You can also do yoga or have a head massage in the hotel, they put on barbacues, stargazing bedouin nights (food included) at a reasonable extra charge, all of which I have done and is well worth the money.
The hotel can also help you book, horseriding, camel rides or quad biking into the mountains, trips to St Catherines Monestary, the pyramids, etc. through third parties.
A special thanks to Dave, Sam, Becky, Mo, Adam, Hakim, Gilly and anyone else I have not mentioned by name, for another wonderful holiday, cannot wait to come back next year. :-)
