just back from two fabulous weeks at Happy life and i can say the place is just wonderful.
However i can only really give my review of my experience as this was far from normal times at this hotel or even country as a whole.
I could bore you with a the usual stuff about great food, great staff and great everything else but i won't because i will just be repeating nearly all the reviews on here.
i would just like to say a big thank you to all at happy life for making our lives just that little bit happier and hope you fill all those rooms once again.
So if you are thinking, no not Egypt, think again, Think Happy Life and you will pleasantly surprised.

Thinking of you always

Jan and Gia

We stayed here in June and had the most wonderful holiday. The hotel itself was very quiet and we even had the large swimming pool to ourselves on most days.

The staff are incredible, the food is wonderful (which is quite unusual for Egypt), the weather perfect and room absolutely spotless.

The main difference with the hotel is its location. In the middle of the desert surrounded by the Sinai Mountains and incredible views of Saudi Arabia.

We went into Dahab one evening which was lovely. A very quiet fishing village and had the best seafood meal I have ever eaten!

We will be back to the Happy Life at some point soon!

Thank you to everyone at Happy Life who made our holiday the most relaxing ever!

Recently returned from a 2 week holiday at the happy life, its was our second visit here and as soon as we walked into reception we were recognised stright away which was great. We were given a room on the ground floor which was great but asked if they had any rooms on 2nd floor as we liked the room and view we had on our last visit,we were given a great room(12 b6) which was right near the beach which fantastic views of the sea and mountains.
The food was great with a lot of choice as was the service, special thanks to all the staff in the restaraunt who couldnt do enough to help us,mohamed, nazmy, alfy, hossam, islam, shamus, kero and all the other chefs. One day my wife wasent feeling to good and stayed at the beach while i went for lunch, the next thing i new they were preparing a few plates of food and tea and took it to my wife on the beach.
The snorkeling was great with many great dive/snorkelling places right on the beach within a few minutes walk, all the boat trips were coming here for their trips but it was never crowded like some other places we have been to.Also a special thanks to the guys at the beach bar, david and bessam who always brought us drinks even when we didn't ask for them and always ice cold.
We usually like to go to different hotels each year and like to stay in 5 star hotels but are already planning to return for our 3 visit to this hotel at end of november as we like it so much and although its a 3 star hotel it certainly feels like a five star which i think is mainly down to the staff.
Also thanks to animation team (zee and tito) who were great and very funny.
Just like to thank all the staff again for everything they have done for us and we look forward to going back in november

Room Tip: Rooms on 2nd floor are best with views of the sea and mountains,

Recently returned from a 2 week family holiday with my wife and 3 kids, aged 12,11 and 8 years. We all had an excellent time there. The location is superb with amazing mountain back drop, fantastic snorkelling opportunities off 'our' jetty with service from bar staff and waiters that was second to none. We were treated like royalty. Nothing was to big of a task for any of the staff. Swimming pools were great, especially the slide pool for the kids (and me!). Unfortunately the second week the pool was closed for a few days for repairs, but that still left 2 other pools to play in and cool off in. The on site Lagona Divers provided a competitively priced guided diving in the 'house reef' and several other sites literally a few minutes jeep ride away. Quad bikes were available for guided tours also, and we went on both a snorkelling trip to the nearby 'blue hole' and also to visit the mountain Bedouin village. Both trips well worth it. The hotel provided a shuttle bus 3 times per day into the nearby main dahab resort. The evening entertainment was the only thing which was fairly poor. Wednesday is Egyptian night, otherwise a few children's songs with the actions for 20 mins each day was it every night in the beach bar. This could have been better.
There was no trouble at all in the resort so don't listen to anyone scare-mongering in England ! The hotel is guarded which gives further reassurance, don't let the current situation put you off going !
Special thank you to Albert, Syed and George at the pool side bar for keeping our drinks topped up. Also to all of the staff in the restaurants, our kids felt really special there and the food was good with excellent choice even with very poor hotel occupancy at this time.
Overall fantastic holiday, hope to return again.

Im a little late in writing this. We returned to the happy life ( first time we've returned to a hotel) for another fantastic holiday. The welcome we got was like we were family. All the staff can't do enough for you, the service is first class. We can't fault the hotel in anyway. The pool areas are great, rooms spotless, views are breathtaking, food choice varied and tasty, sea and snorkeling superb, staff warm and friendly. Would we return again? - you bet! One last thing a big thanks for making our daughters birthday special.

We really enjoyed our stay at happy life village, it is in the middle of nowhere so nothing to do outside the hotel but we chose that as we wanted to chill and relax which we did especially when i met Leo who booked me in for a facial and pedicure, the staff are fab, the cleaners are great workers and always happy, the pool lads can not do enough for you, infact you dont even need to go to the bar it comes to you, the chefs are great 'fab food' and plenty to choose from even for my three year old who loved the spagbol, the waiters and management are very friendly and make your dining experience enjoyable, my little girl loved the entertainment team who were fab with her, we would definatly recommend happy life village and we will be returning next year, i would give it 4-5 stars, we stayed in 21B2 which had a great view of the mountains and pool.

Room Tip: 21B2 had a great view of the mountains and pool

We have just returned from a very restful fortnight at this hotel. Our check-in was very painless, the room that we had requested (via a trip advisor tip) was ours. Room 23A5 was perfect for our simple needs. As close to the beach as possible, quiet most of the time, only disturbed by the dogs on one evening, simple but clean and adequate. Might ask for 23B5, upstairs, if we decide to return next year. The evenings are a bit boring unless you have company that you can understand. The 3 animation lads work extremely hard to include everyone.
The beach is typically Egyptian in that it needs some TLC and generally tidying-up!! We had plenty of space but the hotel was only about 40% occupied, maybe due to the current issues.
The reef is wonderful, with easy jetty access and plenty of fish to see, and boat trips would stop for others to see what we had on hand.
We had an excellent time spent with lovely staff who could not do enough for you, good food and had an excellent, if not exhausting, trip to Jerusalem and Bethlehem.
I would recommend this hotel for adults, good mobility and a general desire to rest and relax.

Room Tip: Room 23A5 is the block closest to the beach, downstairs and generally perfect for us, but might pref...
