We stayed at the Blue Beach in May our first trip to Egypt and ate each morning in the restaurant, no complaints at all, excellent variety. We ate there nearly every lunch time too burgers or salad always good. And we ate there most evenings too as the food excellent and always great service - burgers, steak or fish. One night we went late into the restaurant and the steak was really over cooked as was the fish , I ate the fish but my partner couldn't eat the steak but we did get a full refund. We couldn't argue with that.

The pub is a popular hangout for tourists staying in Dahab and some locals. You can always count on good music.

A very nice and varied menu, with tastes from home and from Egypt, and the best steak in town. Recommended!

This was a return trip to Blue Beach, where we ate last year. However this time the service was desperately slow - our main meal took nearly an hour, and this didn't seem to be as the one waiter was overworked, just slow. Drinks took more than 20 minutes to arrive.
However the food was great - it has a reputation for good steaks - well deserved, and the chicken kebabs was awesome. My kids had felafel and these were very salty - a surprise as last time we'd all enjoyed them. The portions are vast so you won't need to have any bread and dips to start - in any case, if you do, you may never get to eat your main course.
So if you want good food, the chance to drink a beer with your food, this is the place, but be prepared to wait .....

Our group of six ordered various dishes..... those going for steak and burgers were very happy, couldn't praise the food highly enough. But two of us chose couscous, one with shrimps and the other vegetarian. Unfortunately it was the dryest, most tasteless couscous either of us had ever had.... but we were tired from a long journey (3 flights!) and just wanted to eat something before going to bed, so we forced it down without making a fuss.
When the waiter asked us how we had liked the meal, we first complimented him on the steaks but then said that the couscous were not so good. He appeared greatly offended and told us that people come from all over to eat his couscous........ and even picked the matter up again at breakfast the next morning (we were staying in the hotel).
The restaurant appears clean and has modern furniture, lacking perhaps in atmosphere... it had few customers on most nights, and the waiters/chef always looked rather glum, which didn't encourage entry. More burgers were eaten also served in the pool and were always good. If management gave staff and chef some customer relations training, things could only look up.... the basics are there, but with competition being what it is, excellence should be a goal.
