We spent several evenings eating at Ali Baba when we stayed in Dahab over Christmas in Dec 2012. The food is all delicious, the waiters are fun and they are very keen on hygiene!! Its one of the more expensive options in Dahab but that still makes it amazing value for tourists. We never spent more than £10 each and you only need to order a main course as they throw in all the delicious dips, flat bread and something sweet for afters. Buy your wine from the small wine shop called Abanob further up the road just past the square. Its run by a Christian family who are really nice and again the prices are good.

The restaurant did not go and never come: the reason - rudeness restaurant workers who call in the restaurant on the street, and if the passer does not want to go into a restaurant - rude. By the way, tell me finally to "very tricky" employees that the Russian knows that means in Arabic "Russian - harrosho!"

Each time i visit dahab its a must to have my dinner there, they serve such great sea food meals, without mention the amazing view over the aqaba gulf,

They doesn't serve alcoholic however you can bring your own , they will serve it with no extra charge " PS. the alcoholic shop just by the corner - grab your favorite wine and go "

I'd recommend the Sea Food Soap, then get your favorite dish of sea food, always keep in mind that all sea food are sold by weight , in Egypt they use metric system " KG " i believe that 250 grams of shrimps will be perfect for one , for fish 350 grams or 500 grams would be great,

They Accept Credit cards & cash :)

A super meal with lovely staff. Our favourite restaurant of the week. Cheaper (and in our opinion better) than Sharks but with similar quality food and the same hand-washing routine.

We visited Dahab 2 years ago and ate at Ali Baba’s with friends we met while out there. The first experience was great. Great food, great staff, great location. It was these memories that tempted us back for a second visit.

When looking over the menu you are promised a great meal with starters, bread, dips and deserts all chucked in for free.
The service was just as great as we remember – we didn’t feel rushed but we didn’t feel like we were waiting around either.

The meal started with a small toast canapé each, followed by some hot breads and delicious dips. They were so delicious we asked for another one each and more dips!
Our mains were nice, but Im sad to say they weren’t anything to rave about. I had a spicy hot and fiery chicken dish which wasn’t that spicy and one bit of chicken was lovely and tender, the other was very tough.
After the mains we were given strawberry sorbet for desert which was very nice.

They don’t serve alcohol but they encourage you to take your own in and will quite happily open and pour it for you.

The restaurant is right on the waterfront and its really lovely sitting outside in the candlelight looking over the sea. If you look carefully you can often see Lionfish close to the surface as they are attracted to the lights. We also saw a couple of fish jumping out the water a few yards out.

If we ever go back to Dahab, we will try somewhere different next time but make no mistake, this is a nice place. Its great value, the staff are friendly, efficient and, like a lot of places in Egypt, provide a service that puts most places in England to shame. Despite the mains not quite being what we hoped, we still had a very nice dining experience.
