I'm prepared to say this is the best food I have been served in Egypt having spent 4+ weeks both by the Red Sea and inland.
Portions were huge and the grill plate was big enough to share.
Extra thick cinnamon milkshake... a meal by it self as it turned out.

After a week of offers, discounts and the like we visited this place for not the cheapest, but the best eating experience of our trip.

Tasty, beautifully presented Egyptian food, varied menu and excellent value. No problem catering for a party of 12. We were given gel to clean our hands on arrival, and when we had finished eating, warm water and lime juice was poured over each guest's hands in turn. The waiter explained that whatever we ordered would come with a starter of breads and dips and be followed by a dessert, all-inclusive. Alcohol was not provided but there was no problem for one of the party to pop out and buy a crate of beer (but who needs beer with such delicious smoothie cocktails on the menu?) The fresh fish and tagines were especially good, and the whole evening was a memorable culmination of our stay in Dahab.

This restaurant is packed with friendly waiters all serving up great food. Relaxed atmosphere, great to watch the fish at night as the lights from the restaurant light up the water.

We visited Ali Baba twice during our week in Dahab. The resturant looks pretty mutch like all the other one along the street, people on the outside trying to convince you that they are serving the best food in Dahab and cozy sofas and seaview in a oriental style on the inside. They dont serve alcohol but are happy to provide with icebucket if you bring your own. Waiters are friendly and service minded, complimentary arabic bread with tasty dipp, and some fruit as dessert. First evening I did not get the food I ordered, they offered to cook a new dish but I did not feel like waitin another 15min when al the other food we ordered already were on the table. We gave them another chance, and they served me cold Lamb Fatta so i had to ask them for a new one, ending up eating alone since my company already had finished his meal (and waiter cleaned the table) before my second and hot Lamb fatta arrived. To avoide all annoying hasseling on the street, rather go north as far as you get and you will find a mutch more quiet area of Dahab with some nice resturants like the Dai Pescatori. 100% Hassle free and better value for money!!
