I was astonished by the beauty of the underwater life thier! So colorful & beautiful! it is one of my best dives indeed! I did the dive on 30 meters depth from the ebells along till the blue hole! I recomend it to any advanced diver! YOU SHOUNDNOT MISS IT ;) you might be annoyed by to much tourism thier so i recommend to visit it in Feb or march less tourism and much more to enjoy!

“Disappointed - too much tourism”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 9, 2013

My husband and I visited the Blue Hole as part of day trip and were so looking forward to snorkelling but unfortunately I couldnt dive as recently had shoulder surgery - but having read the reviews was keen to be blown away by the fish. Sadly there were just too many divers and snorkellers to enjoy our swim and soon retreated to one of the Bedouin tents to dry off and get warm and have a bite to eat. A lot of the coral has been damaged due to the amount of swimmers - no beach to relax so will need to pay and eat in one of the "tents". If you need to use the toilet - there is one block for all the tents there and you need to pay on entry.
Overall no impressed and very disappointed

As you snorkel towards the Hole the Coral reef suddenly drops off and you see these amazing fish swimming in and out of the various nooks and crannies of the underwater cliff face. it a breathtaking site (so much that i mistimed my breathing and took in sea water!!!).
Stick to the edges of the hole and you will see more. It was an amazing first snorkelling experience.

Mind blowing when you jump in the water, seeing the colours of the fish and coral and the contrasts.
A must if in Egypt

“Overcrowded and damaged, but...”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 5, 2013

Due to heavy tourist traffic and the enormous numbers of snorklers, most of the place, especially close to the surface inside the Hole is actually deador the coral reef is severly damaged. Still Diving along the outer walls starting from El Bells to the Hole or - for more experienced and qualified divers - passing the Arch is still a fantastic diving experience. Dahab and Blue Hole are still "Mecca" for divers and it is a must-dive place.
