Due to heavy tourist traffic and the enormous numbers of snorklers, most of the place, especially close to the surface inside the Hole is actually deador the coral reef is severly damaged. Still Diving along the outer walls starting from El Bells to the Hole or - for more experienced and qualified divers - passing the Arch is still a fantastic diving experience. Dahab and Blue Hole are still "Mecca" for divers and it is a must-dive place.

Went early on a dune buggy to avoid all the jeeps from sharm.
It gets very busy as the day goes on.
plenty of places to eat n drink n relax after diving or snorkling.

Very pleasant little town very different then Sharm el Sheikh. Hotels also are much more collected and characteristic. The barrier is great, you can see everything even just doing snorkeling. Climate ventilated therefore less sultry. You eat really well for people like me who love fish. I recommend everyone to spend a day, through a landscape "mountain" really superb, and to enjoy a beautiful sunset and a fun evening (obviously without nightclubs, discos, etc.)

had a strange sense of other worldliness swimming in this location. Did not fully know about it's history till I got back and did some research and now I understand this experience more.
