We live in Cairo and booked this hotel for a few days break with our daughter who picked the Ras Sudr area as she wanted to windsurf.
It's newly opened and when all the advertised amenities are up and running will be lovely BUT very little advertised was available. Rooms were clean and the food good. The pool excellent with plenty of sunbeds and parasols (although I'm not sure that they would provide much shade in the height of the summer).
Main down (probably) for most Euopeans is that it's Saudi owner and currently DRY!
It's location makes it a long transfer from either Cairo or Sharm. In good traffic about 2 hours from Cairo and 3 from Sharm airports.
Currently it caters mainly for Egyptians and there was only one other European on site - not a problem for us, but it was for a single girl on her own as she felt very isolated and ended up coming back to Cairo with us for a few days.
Whilst we would go back (taking our own tipple) I wouldn't go back with my daughter and would only recommend the hotel at the moment if you wanted a good hotel and didn't want all the upmarket things that are usually included in a hotel of this calibre but never use them!
If you think about this hotel please feel free to message me for further information.
