“It's all about location.... nothing else”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 19, 2013

Hotel is located in a perfect location, where the view over the canal and the sea is excellent, this is the only thing good that you will feel.....
Otherwise, the reception staff are ok, but others starting from the conceirge, waiters, guards and up to the chef, are not treating the guest well, they are not even smile for you, i hate the staff, hate the attitude.
Rooms are ok.. but it's hardly 3 stars or even 2 stars hotel, very expensive to value, conditioner is noisy, small TV, small beds, toilets are the best thing in the room, they're clean and a bit comfortable.....
Minibar is empty... didn't try the food.
Seats found in each floor aren't comfortable, while the one in the reception in front of elevators are the best.
Sure it's the best in town... but it doesn't deserve it's price at all!!

Room Tip: Rooms in higher floors are better for the view. Canal view is good also..

Not plenty of accommodation choices in the area. Port Said Hotel is from one of the best ones in the area. However if you compare this hotel with overall hotel ranking, can easily say that it is nothing really special but to be honest Port Said Hotel is acceptable. Do not have big expectations. It is next to Suez and have nice view.

I was there for 2 nights with my wife and kids. overall, the stay was excellent. the hotel is well placed near Suiz canal and on the shore with good views from most of the hotel rooms (sea view or Canal view). we stayed in the garden partition which is the best for kids, they can use the garden, swimming pool and kids area without our help going and coming. the breakfast was good and the staff were cooperative. it is near a descent shopping area where can my wife walk around. if you like walking, you can have a nice walk along the Suiz Canal which is close to the hotel. the meeting rooms are spaceous and can host hunderds ( I was attending conference) Overall the stay was excellent but don't expect a 5 star stay.

It's a good hotel, clean and tidy, rooms are well equipped and nicely furnished, I think it's the best hotel in Port Said based on the value you get for the money paid.

- Food was good and fresh.
- Big halls for fast meetings.
- Services was good, staff was a bit friendly.

There isn't a huge selection of decent business hotels in Port Said. We stayed at the Port Said Hotel-Mir Travel out of necessity- thanks to a meeting that overran in the area. We were charged 600Egyptian Pounds (about £60uk) which was outrageous for the dated and grubby standard of the room. It was barely adequate as a last resort. The rooms are decent sized, but are very worn, to the point of shabby. The "non-smoking" room had an ash-tray and matches (but I was told that the window had been opened in an attempt to air it out). The bed was half made, with a roll of toilet paper and unfolded towels left in the middle. The sheets were of questionable cleanliness with a few dark curly hairs about… Even on the top floor, the noise from the below street made a restful night impossible and I was exhausted in the morning. There were also cats roaming the halls, perhaps implying mice? On the plus side the bathrooms were new-ish and clean and the location is good. But overall, would prefer to drive back to Cairo than stay here again

The hotel in general is good BUT it is (in my openion) not considered as 5 stars hotel .. it may be 3 or 4 stars maximum. It cannot be put on the same line with the REAL 5 stars hotels !. The hotel is good BUT does not worth the money ! .. It has access on the beach BUT the door is always closed so you cannot approach the beach through the hotel, you have to go around the hotel to reach the beach..by the way, the beach does not worth this hackle.

The location of the hotel is good; it has view on the sea and the Suez Canal as well. It is near from the Port as well as the downtown. The staff is friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean. The breakfast and the restaurant are acceptable.

Room Tip: The rooms at the eastern side have a nice Canal view.

The place is very clean and in a great position. The place is dated and the staff have limited English but the are very helpful and if they don't understand they will find someone that does.
The views are good from the rooms. The pool is heated so that is great. Breakfast is basic but nice - they do there best.
There is not much choice in Port Said, this is a really large hotel and when we stayed not many guests. Don't except 5 stars because it's not but they try really hard to help were they can.

Room Tip: Ask for an ocean view room
