The 29th St deli is a gem! Shocked there aren't more reviews but as you see, they are all great. Cheesesteaks are the best you'll find south of Philly and the old world Italian is amazing! Can't say enough about our favorite spot in Avalon!

29th St Deli makes the BEST haogies on the Island. Now Primos is right behind you as they have awesome bread but the amount of meat they put in their sandwiches can't be beat for the price.

This was a convenient economical meal. Nice shop with lots of fresh choices and more reasonable by far than the pricey local seafood carryouts and better choices than pizza. We split a chicken salad "hoagie" style sandwich and literally got three meals out of it. A tasty recipe (no onion) loaded with big chunks of white breast meat and celery. Enter from the main street or thru the arch from the adjoining supermarket.

I'm pretty sure I was in here 8 out of 10 days while in Avalon, not always for sandwiches but regardless, I was here. The cracked pepper wrap is really good, and the sandwiches are giant and made fresh and are really good. I appreciate a well made sandwich. The organization is a little confusing if you order cold and hot stuff. I ordered 4 cold sandwiches and one hot, got the cold stuff first and had to wait to grab the attention of one of the employees to make sure they were making the hot sandwich since there was no mention of it when I got the cold stuff. Had I not been paying attention I probably would have left without the hot sandwich. It's slightly annoying but other than that they are a well oiled machine and get you in and out fast.
