“Unique breakfast spot”

Fishin' Pier Grille
Ranked #3 of 68 Restaurants in Avalon
Cuisines: Seafood
Description: Rick and Sue's adventure on 7 Mile Island began 27 years ago when they took over the Fishin' Pier Grille located on 32nd Street in Avalon. The husband and wife duo's love affair with restaurants still runs strong after all these years as they continuously enjoy seeing the familiar faces of returning customers as well as the new comers each summer. Rick and Sue's grown children, Nicole Jones and Eric Montanari, are happily joining their parents in this new adventure of opening the Fishin' Pier Grille South in Stone Harbor this upcoming Spring. The family is looking forward to bringing the same reputation of great taste, service, and charm to their new breakfast spot.

Although a bit pricey, the food is outstanding. The variety of omlets and pancakes is fun and interesting not to mention very tasty. Portions are more than ample so bring an appetite. The pier ambience is rustic but cute. It's a great place after a long ride or run.

Had breakfast here last week and everything was great. My 2 little ones had strawberry pancakes and chocolate chip pancakes while I had the french toast. This is a family owned breakfast shack on Avalons south end of the boardwalk. The owners are right there for you. One meets and greets you at the door and the other does all the cooking. Great staff..great food. Always a good breakfeast for a very reasonable price. By the way they 86'd Maggie's place over the winter.

I didn't like our trip here at all. I go each year and try to like it as it is in a great location but it is way too expensive and the owners are always barking and not very nice. You'd do better at Maggie's.

Prices are reasonable, food is good, service is quick, and the menu is fun. What more can you ask? I actually had peanut butter, banana and chocolate chip pancakes once. Loads of pancake selections and variations. Although not a waffle or pancake person, taste was terrific,.. high sugar (Mayor Bloomberg would have closed this place down long ago!) Pancakes are nicely light however, and all menu selections are good. Plus, it's a family-run business and they really move things along. Try their Egg McPier sandwich: two eggs, Taylor pork Roll, and cheese with home fries. That'll take care of your carb requirement for the morning.

This quaint spot on Avalon's boardwalk has been our favorite for breakfast for the more than 20 years that we've been vacationing in Avalon. The omelets are amazing--fresh, packed with whatever you want, and puffy (my husband swears by the jalapeno, sausage, tomato, and cheese omelet, and I swear by the bacon, cheese, tomato, and red onion one). The accompanying hash browns are addicting! Other family favorites of ours include the peach and raspberry french toast. The owner/cook and his wife/hostess recognize us year after year, which makes the Fishin' Pier Grille even more special to us!
