“great look and view mediocre food”
Reviewed July 1, 2014

it's a wonderful place because it is redone and beautiful; but the food is very very average. Nothing I have had there is memorable. good for a beer and pizza or a burger.

Typical expensive tourist trap restaurant. The food was good but certainly not worth the price. A good place if you want to spend a lot so you can impress someone but not a place I'd hurry to return to. The staff was great, attentive, and caring

“Great view, bar scene, but the rest is meh!”
Reviewed June 27, 2014

We've gone to the Windrift Bar and Restaurant for years and were so excited to see that it's been remodeled since we last visited! It's nicely configured with many options for indoor and outdoor dining and drinking areas. The ambiance is clean lined and contemporary and with windows spanning the backside, the views of the ocean and beach are exceptional. We went one Saturday afternoon for drinks at the outside bar and while it was wall to wall people we were able to find a spot to stand and enjoy the scene. We decided to return another evening for drinks and dinner and were underwhelmed by the quality of the food and mixed drinks. Several of the mixed drinks that we ordered (blood orange mojito and martinis) were made from a mix and tasted nothing like mojitos.. The waitress was very cordial about taking them back and bringing us wine instead. Also, the food is on the order of any fast food restaurant chain with inefficient but friendly service. There was a band playing upstairs and downstairs was gearing up for some dancing and partying...this is Stone Harbor so if you're looking for some dance/party fun it may be the only game in town. Hope this helps.

“World Cup, Creative food and dancing too!”
Reviewed June 26, 2014

We ate at the Windrift on a Sunday night when America tied Portugal in the World Cup. It was a fantastic night to be out watching the game with hundreds of my closest fan friends. We ordered the pizzas and they were crispy and cheesy. They had a nice beer and huge wine selection. We had a sunset in one direction and the World Cup in the other. Afterwards we danced to a killer band with a kickin' horn section. The place is huge with a quiet lounge area and live band area. You can eat outside on the deck too. they clear out the tables and have a DJ later in the evening. There is something for everyone. It would be a fantastic place for a wedding reception as well. Loved it!

Second time I've been here in 2 years And the staff was terrible both times. Charged a $5 cover on a Tuesday in May (for wing night- no band) and still full price on meal and drinks. There were about 7 bouncers 4 hostesses and 15 servers all clustered in their designated spots all just staring at you not saying a word , making you feel like u were doing something wrong by invading their territory. Servers are rude young and unwelcoming and management doesn't seem to care that the bar is a hangout for the servers during their shift. The atmosphere would have been five stars If the entire 2 hrs we were there I didn't have to stare at the lazy waiters And MANAGER all stand/sit around the bar the entire time while other servers who are busy struggle to wait on their tables. Food was decent but seriously? Famous wings? It's chicken and franks red hot. I will say the sushi was awesome. KUdos to that but it'll be a cold day in hell before we go back.
