“jersey shore lives!”

Lovely resort at the Jersey shore. Beautiful pool and fine dining choices. Closest downtown is Stone Harbor - nice shopping area with additional restaurants. Resort is on the beach. It's a 7 mile island with bay on the other side for those who want to fish or boat. Close to Cape May.

Room Tip: hotel rooms recently remodeled and very nice

The rooms are beautiful and the view from our third floor room wonderful.

The food in the dining room was very good as was the service. Breakfast and the service on Level II was very good; the food at lunch was poor. We were amazed at the change in quality from one meal to the next. We only ate dinner in the dining room.

The saddest part of our stay was the Tuesday night “Wing Night". It was very noisy on the restaurant deck, but that noise could be blocked out by closing the sound blocking balcony door. However, the pounding and vibration from the band's bass drum was loudly heard until 12:30 am when the band finally stopped for the night. From my perspective, it’s not a good way to pay back the guests in your most expensive rooms.

The next night was sublime – very quiet even with the balcony door open.

If you are looking for a relaxing, peaceful ocean visit, this hotel may not be for you. Check the events schedule and/or with the reservation desk for types of bands and where they are playing. The offending band played on Level II and was probably a rock bank. Didn’t hear any of the music, just the base. If you are up with the band until closing, this may be a perfect spot.

Note: This review is only for a third floor oceanfront room.

We have stayed here before and look forward to our trip every June. They recently remodeled and the rooms are very modern and up to date. We stay in a Junior suite with a king bed, sleep sofa table with 4 chairs and small kitchen area.
There are 4 restaurants, sushi bar, and 3 bars with music every night. I would give it 5 stars if it had a gym , there exercise places close by.

The food is good, and the staff very helpful

Room Tip: If you come in-season get a room overlooking the pool. I like the rooms on the street side with a vi...

This review is for the restaurant portion of the hotel as I have not stayed at the hotel in years. The restaurant/bar is always crowded so you would think that the service and food are dynamite, however the reason for the crowd is because of the views and lack of other options. The food is typically average and the service is poor. Above all, do not order the sushi if you are in a rush, on average it takes about 30 minutes for a sushi order to get to your table.

I came to stay here for a friend's wedding and I love this hotel. The beds are so comfy and the recent renovations make this place feel like you're not in jersey. Beautiful views and right on the ocean. If I come back to this area I will definitely stay here again!

We actually eat at the Windrift quite often. The view from the second floor deck is second to none. I wish the same could be said about the service. Their food is very good, but we have yet to have a breakfast or dinner there where we didn't have to wait an extraordinarily long time. I get it...they get very busy, but they need to have better managers who are, at least, apologetic. Foret about proactive; I'd settle for apologetic.
On a positive note, their bartenders all are very nice a d as responsive as they can be on a busy night.

This hotel has been renovated a few years ago. The rooms are really nice. It's right on the beach and it has a very nice pool and hot tub. We stayed at an off-season time, so the only drawback was that the "Second Level" restaurant bar (the one with a beautiful ocean view) was totally off limits because of a wedding. By 5 PM, the lower level bar was being used by the wedding party and guests, so that was off limits too. Apart from that, the service was very good and we enjoyed a beautiful pre-season weekend in Avalon.
