Beautiful hotel nicely renovated.. When we arrived wasn't happy with our room due to location I went and spoke to the manager Ree he was so nice and very accommodating luckily someone cancelled for an oceanfront room and we were upgraded no problem. Went to the beach bar this evening it was awesome. Will book same time next year. This room is awesome

Our whole family have been coming to the Windrift Hotel in Avalon for 9 years. A few years ago they put in a new pool and hot tub, new brick oven pizza kitchen and a brand new bar next to the pool. Last year the hotel went under major renovations that are just amazing. Every time my daughter and I turned the corner, we were say "WOW that's new too!". Just starting with the level two bar that gives unbelievable views of the ocean, it is wide open and everything is brand new and gorgeous. All the rooms were renovated over the winter and everything is new, the most comfortable beds with high quality sheets that you just relax in the minute you hit the bed, the bathrooms are to die for with rain forest shower heads, huge LCD televisions, and a wet bar and a Keurig Coffee Maker! This hotel has the best of everything. The best rooms down at the shore, best location, best pool, 5 different bars to go to. There is no need to leave the Windrift during your stay because they have it all here. We stayed in the W Suite Room 336 which has it's own private balcony on the third floor and has the amazing ocean views. We will all definitely be back again next year.

Room Tip: Room 336, third floor two bedroom ocean front suite. Definitely worth the money.

There is no excuse for this hotel, newly renovated to charge $600 dollars a day during the summer when they fail to tell you whenyounbooked the room that they have loud bands playing till 1:30 AM. So unless you are in your late 20s or early 30 s ( or so) and getting totally drunk, myounhave tomputjupmwith blaring music , bass musici blasting out of subwoofers. You can hear them through your floor andatio door. You are unable to use yours tips and sit put at night ( actually after 5 PM) when they start blasting live music. The management is poorly responsive and fails to really care.

Room Tip: Do notebook any ocean view room at this hotel. They are the most expensive and the ocean views are N...

I recently went to the WIndrift for dinner. After paying a cover charge that I found to be very tacky, I was seated at a table next to a family. The child who sat text to me kicked me sevral times. The food was average and the service was poor.

This hotel has just undergone a large renovation project and has a new feel from my past visits. However the customer service, especially in the restaurants is terrible to the point of being absurdly rude. Apparently the end of August is the wrong time to try to enjoy yourself at the Windrift bar and restaurants. Stay here if you must but plan to eat and drink elsewhere. A word to the wise should be sufficient. You've been forwarned.

Extremely disappointed in this hotel. Only good part was the nearness to the beach. Room faced the hotel next door where loud music for several hours even drowned out the seagulls.
We stayed two nights at $360 per night plus luxury and state tax. For that we got a reasonably comfortable bed with dirty glasses, (the housekeeping said it was a rule that they did not supply new glasses but rinsed out the old and put back. The shower was not wiped down nor the bathroom floor washed, barely wiped. The icebucket was not rinsed out nor was the plastic ice bag replaced. The bed was full of wrinkles, obviously they do not even straighten the sheets, and there was a large indentation where someone sat. For the money we paid we expected high quality housekeeping. This room was considered a King Superior which I guess referred to the cost. It was also located next to the laundry room which seemed to go on all night and deliveries for the kitchens were below our balcony and started in the wee hours of the morning.
Will not return.
